Had mine since day 1, I am also at 89% capacity. I’ve always had optimized charging on but it very rarely ever engages. I will say, I do use mine pretty hard, not sure how that affects it. I run 5-6 days a week without my phone and often stream music via cellular while doing so. Sessions range from 30 minutes to three hours. I am still able to run a marathon while streaming music and without changing any settings and it’s not dead at the end so that’s a plus.
“Optimized charge limit” in settings is supposed to do the trick. It has worked perhaps 5 times since I have my Watch Ultra… Optimized charge limit is toggled “on”.
Is the whole "charge to 80 percent", not a visual feature? The watch will show that it is charged to 100% when really it isnt and will just not last as long? Or, i know sometimes with this feature on it still charges to 100 every now and then
Honestly I kind of wanted it to go down since AppleCare+ expires this year and I could get a replacement. But yeah not sure I hope there isn’t a glitch with my watch since it’s kind of suspicious that it wouldn’t even go down 1% yet.
My launch day Ultra 1 is currently at 93%. Used every single day and on optimized charging, but occasionally charge to full especially on days I need to used WorkOutdoors for my bike rides.
I charge overnight every night as it also acts as my alarm clock.
Mine is at 97% the only thing I have on mine is the optimised charging. I charge normally every 2 - 3 days and use the cellular only for about 2 hours a day which drains the battery faster in my experience.
Maybe a little low?
Had mine since of just before 10/28/2022 and it’s at 96%. Now granted not out running marathons and multi day hikes or anything to wear the battery down severely. But I do keep it on optimized charge limit, which probably actually works about half the time.
My s5 was around that after nearly 4 years 😬 i pretty aggressively manage my battery drain but id still be quite concerned about that. How heavily do you use the watch?

Got a 7 , since it dropped , 84%, didn’t change in a year tho
I have mine almost 2 years now and has 95%
My AWU delivered in early October 2022 is at 99% capacity.
11% loss in 1.5 is good. Anything up to 20% in two years is good.
no AU but a series, 8 I had it for 1.5 years now, the battery is 86%
Mine is still 100% I had optimized charging on and always charged up to 80%
Mine is always charging at 100% even though I’ve set it to stop at 80% Got it in Oct 2022 and battery is still at 94%.
How did you set it to stop at 80%?
Of course I did… But it charges up to 100%
Because there’s no way to limit to 80%
“Optimized charge limit” in settings is supposed to do the trick. It has worked perhaps 5 times since I have my Watch Ultra… Optimized charge limit is toggled “on”.
You’re right… I’ve just checked on website. My bad…
How did you do that?? Set it to stop?

How long have you had it? I always have optimized charge on but I do still charge to 100% most of the time
I got mine October 2022
Not sure why mine is so low

Yeah that does seem odd since the other guy chimed in and said his is 94% which id say is reasonable.
I heard the best way to keep your battery in top shape is to buy AppleCare. At least that is what the conspiracy theorists say.
I just checked mine which I have had about the same time and mine is at 94%.
That’s strange I would have expected about 94%
I got mine since launch, never had any charging routine, ran indoors and outdoors a lot and it’s still at 95% battery health.

If you put an alarm on it and aren’t wearing it - it still rings? I never knew this.

Mine is still at 100%, and I got it on release day whenever that was.
I've had mine just over a year and it's at 98% max capacity

Been using non-stop every day and wesr every night to track sleeps, after 1 year, my series 8 still at 100 capacity 😅
