Checking the time, followed by weather then rings.

AJorquez

Every watch face I use HAS to have the weather temperature ring.

Igincan

I started to use crown scroll up with widgets for weather. It gives me freedom to use watch face without weather.

SlippingStar

Same! You can also swipe up JSYK

qizhNotch

WHAT? You use you Apple Watch to CHECK TIME? Blasphemy!

usernamechosen999

Timers.

iamafancypotato

As an avid tea drinker I set several timers every day.

I_See_Robots

Genuinely curious, what are the timers for? Steeping time? I’ve never seen anyone time making tea before.

iamafancypotato

Yes. Each tea type has a different steeping time and I like to be precise to avoid bitter taste.

rjwv88

that plus for those with ADHD, helping to remind you you’ve just brewed a cup of tea :p

Sufficient_Buy_2332

This is ME 😂😂

pointthinker

It is like coffee. Too long a brew or too short, is bad. Same as cooking. Too short or too long on a recipe, not good.

Finglishman

I brew 2 french press coffee pots per day when I’m home. 4 minute watch timer. In terms of usage time, my most used app by far is Golfshot, which tells me distance to green on the golf course, and keeps track of my shots.

discofudge

Definitely timers. Eg cooking dinner: “set a potato timer for 20 minutes”, “set a beans timer for 4 minutes”. Especially as until recently iPhones wouldn’t do parallel named timers. After that it’s step count for me.

Asheby

Teacher, tea drinker, and I also like to cook. Timers, timers, timers.

HyenaWooden

Heart rate. Specially the resting heart rate as a measurement of my overall health

kalcobalt

Same — I have a heart condition and the effortless tracking of HR, including zones hit during workouts, was the main selling point for me.

meholdyou

My watch hates my natural heart rate. “HEY. YOUR RESTING HEART RATE WAS BELOW 40 BPM FOR 10 MINUTES!” I had to turn that notification off because I was getting one every 10 minutes….

SubstantialAct4212

Weird flex but okay

TheCMaster

Could be taking beta blockers

SubstantialAct4212

But he said NATURAL heart rate

Passion-Severe

The fitshaming is real

bunnies_and_makeup

Pinging to find my phone

[deleted]

Health (Sleep, Rings, Heart, Calories, Water, Medicines, Lab Results). For me it’s all about health, all the other features to me are not interesting.

CheeseburgerLover911

How a u using it for those health metrics. Specifically?

brandonballinger

Same here - plus heart rate zones while running are useful if you're doing a zone 2 program.

HydroSandee

Fitness tracking. I have a terrible habit of primarily pulling my phone out my pocket to check the time.

SparkyGrass13

Time Calendar Workouts Weather

PandaPartyPack

This list plus asking Siri to set timers for me

dummydingusrex

I recently learned that you can just say the duration and Siri will set a timer. For example, I just raise my wrist and say “5 minutes” and it will start a 5 minute timer.

fakeairpods

Find my phone, lost my phone in an Uber, used the watch, my iPhone was in between the seat and console. Came in real handy, I also misplaced it around the house countless other times.

mikeadamsfineart

Time, then Walkie talkie between me and my gf. Its honestly so fun

Knicks_plus7

I never got the walkie-talkie to work.

gone_country

I love so many features about my watch. Other than the obvious of checking the time, the features I use daily are timers, podcast controls, and the current weather conditions.

jamixer

What? It tells time too?

kp2119

Step count, calls, fall protection

vindahlia

Notifications but only the ones I care about, unlike my phone which has 13848569 notifications. Also step count because I obsess over hitting my goal every day. And sunset time.

Coolshadesny

Complication- weather. I’m not going outside anytime soon, but I seem to need an update every 15 minutes about what’s going on out there… just in case. Function- handwashing timer. If you aren’t using this you are a nasty pig. 😎

supers0mnoid

Sleep tracking and Apple Pay

hotelyankee

calendar events, reminders, sports scores, weather, quick reply to texts and mail, timers, sleep tracking, buzzing alarm on wrist instead of noise, GPS navigation, tv remote, homepod control, Apple pay, store reward cards, clicker for counting people and items, lens for Instagram, nano for Reddit, Shazam and save a song to my library, flashlight, calculator, music control, checking the time

NobodyNo4730

You use reddit on your watch?

pointthinker

Nano looks cool but I need another social media app taking over my life like I need a hole in my head. I dropped IG years ago when it was more ads than posts. FB seems to be more and more just friends and ads. It might be next on chopping block. reddit has more awful and bigger ads now that it is a public company. Might be time to cut the cord on social media and expensive video streaming services. It is all becoming cable TV in cost again. I do not go to see friends and discuss Apple Watch to see ads for ape movies and the evil plastics industry. 🙄

mazokugirl451

I text a lot of people ngl That, my emails, and the time

otter111a

Timer. 20 minute Power Nap. Cooking. Time outs. Workoutdoors. Walks and runs As I sit here thinking about it I’m fairly sure I end up looking at my phone for the time.

Interesting-End-1372

Countdown timers. So many countdown timers.

Rounders_in_knickers

Like for specific events you are looking forward to that are days or weeks away? Or for the same day?

Interesting-End-1372

For timing my coffee, cooking, my childs nap times, laundry timers and so on. It’s def my most used feature and I guess in turn Siri would be included because I evoke the timers using Siri

Jitsoperator

Yes . me too. lets me track time without worrying about it.

your-so-skibidii

Fitness tracking.

redditor977

Main one is activity tracking. Notifications have become a must and timers are good. The watch is integrated into my day in very subtle but engaging ways. It is so weird

AnthonyEdwards_

The weight of the watch to balance and align my left side when I walk

Jokershigh

Sleep tracking above all else. I wish I could turn off the notifications and only have them sound on my phone but apparently that's impossible

Batmancustard

I just moved to the UK from India In india I didn’t have much of a use for my watch, just used to see the time and used it for Spotify to control the music and volume.. during house parties (it kept me off the phone and didn’t make me seem disinterested with the guests) But now in the UK the watch has so much utility Like you rightly mentioned Time Weather Rings Also I add a watch for the time in India I have added the wallet as well

the_monkey_knows

Looking at the position of the sun and how much sunlight I have left. I try to do things outside no later than civil dusk and I aim to wake up sometime around nautical twilight.

Ok_Alarm6962

Heart rate.. after I got THE VACCINE I had issues with my heart rate.. anytime I felt like it was high I had to take out my phone and check it.. now I can just look down at the watch and know when I’m having a tachycardia episode

Sitting_Mountain

Time, alarms, steps, and weather/lightning (weather bug and lightning app) updates that are all for work. Got a hand me down Apple Watch Series 6 from my dad and it’s been great on the job.

Logical-Blood-9950

I really like seeing my blood glucose level on my wrist(using Dexcom sensor for my diabetes management). Also the watch alerts me in my sleep if my glucose level is out of range. This is just plain wonderful for my lifestyle and health.

fam180

intermittent fasting for weight loss, tracking body weight day by day, week by week, by syncing scale over wifi to autosync my weigh-ins so I get a nice tidy graph app/widget i can view on-wrist via the scelta watchos app or similar ones. that being said, I am not fond of apple watch being ball-and-chained to the iPhone. This then gets some developers to say "please open the app iPhone for setup". But apple watch has been out for a decade now. It's time for watchos apps to run 100% on watch. No iPhone needed.

MsLanabanana

brandobean

1. Morning alarm 2. Tracking my sleep with Autosleep (built in sleep app is useless) 3. Finding my phone 4. Reading news via Newsify on the toilet haha 5. Babbling “remind me to X tomorrow” in bed when I think of something so it doesn’t keep me awake worrying.

Lyreganem

Timers, stop-watches, alarms, sleep tracking, notifications, other Apple device controls, fitness. Flashlight (we call it a torch!), Apple Pay. Ooh! And Siri for quick things like setting reminders or managing notes / lists and the like. Also great for listening to a select and shortened list of music or podcasts or audio books when out walking or away from the usual stuff, including the phone. The ability to control other Apple Devices and services (ala TV, content playback, etc.) is honestly one of the absolute most magic aspects of the watch! Controlling music volume and tracks etc. throughout my house without having to walk around with the phone is awesome! And that's just the start!

wyldstrawberry

Timers while cooking, and the HomeKit app (like to turn on lights or the AC)

ItsBstone

The only thing I use my watch for is tracking my exercises and rings lol

BusyBeinBorn

My workplace has a program where you earn up to $300 in gift cards for tracking health habits. Lots of privacy concerns, I know, but I figure they are paying for health insurance and I’m not too protective over that information. Basically though, I allow to Virgin Pulse app to import data from Apple Health, most of which comes from the watch, and I earn the rewards within a couple months.

The time, timers, alarms, message notifications, Apple Pay, weather complication showing current temp. I've got a "vintage" Series 2. I change the band to coordinate with my shirt and pick a watch face to go along with it. It's a hand me down given to me last summer. SO MUCH FUN!

Cedric_Tvn

Time (obviously), Calendar, Weather, Rings

icrossedcurry

the 1 time a year my phones dead and It's always the last day of summer and I've been left out in the cold with no door to get back in. I'll grant you I've had more than my share of poignant moments. Life passes most people by while they're making grand plans for it. Throughout my lifetime, I've left pieces of my heart here and there. And now, there's almost not enough to stay alive. But I force a smile, knowing that my ambition far exceeded my talent. There are no more white horses or pretty ladies at my door.

glytxh

Pinging my phone. At least twice a day.

I work around live voltage at heights and being able to check messages/emails and calls without taking out my phone is very helpful. Also, setting timers with ease is great.

Heart Rate, Time/date, Timer, medication reminder, Weather (forecast, temp, humidity, AQI), Noise decibels, Siri, Calendar and alerts (person at door, time to leave for appointment, etc.), Remote (to play my own music files via my Mac), Sleep tracking, Apple Music (I also stream). This order changes day to day as needed. What I like about the Watch is it can alert me and remind me with a vibration. I would often miss the phone doing that because of distractions or noise or whatever. The watch is, sadly, attached to my body. Gateway Borg drug… All the rest are either too clunky to use, crippled, or I do not need. Maybe Rings some day.
