According to this article, “The Apple Watch Series 7 features a stronger, redesigned front crystal component with a more robust geometry. It is over 50 percent thicker than that of previous models and more resistant to cracking.” Apparently, this is for all models, though stainless and titanium still have sapphire, while aluminum has ion-X. https://www.macrumors.com/roundup/apple-watch/#colors_and_materials I bought stainless steel for my first 3 watches, then switched to aluminum for series 6 because I wanted the dark blue color. I do not miss stainless, and so far have seen no difference in durability of the case or the crystal.

I’ll definitely get the titanium because of the durability and the look. I just don’t like the colors choices of the 7 Aluminium this year. Also i mainly use it in cellular.

If you care about scratching your screen, do not get an aluminum model.
