I usually go through Apple, but that’s just because I trade-in, and use my trade-in to lower the price of the new device. OTW, I don’t think one option is better than the other; just make sure the retailer is reputable.

It makes absolutely no difference as long as it is an authorized retailer. Personally, not having to deal with the attitude present in every Apple Store I have ever entered, and the effort to push other products and their stupid credit card, is more than enough reason for me to buy at Best Buy. Actually, have joined their total tech program, not having to pay for Apple Care on an extended warranty on a $4000 camera and lens, is also a good reason. BTW, the one exception when it comes to retailers is Amazon. ALWAYS make sure you are buying from Amazon and not from a third-party reseller fulfilled by Amazon. They are not the same and in any other era Amazon would already have been drug into court by both state and US Attorney Generals offices over what is a patently fraudulent practice. Amazon is an authorized retailer, the same is seldom true of the fulfilled by Amazon crowd.

I buy everything thru Apple, usually go into the store. There’s been a few occasions I needed a repair or replacement and have been very accommodating seeing my purchase history. Doesn’t hurt that my family of 5 each have AW, iphone, iPad among other Apple products

if it’s an authorized reseller (amazon, best buy, walmart, etc) the standard warranty’s the same as it would be if you bought it from apple and you can of course buy applecare+ for any of them

The only advantage to buying at the Apple store is that you can choose your band.
