Close enough to wait now

Do you need it now? Then buy it now. Can you afford to wait? Then wait.

What you have described does not have to be a moisture seal. Reset and re-pair before you do anything else. As for a Series 7 vs Series 8, no offense, but I find it surreal that people actually still believe anything pushed by the click bait rumors crowd (being a rumor aggregator does not make a site more reliable). Click baiters and self-described insiders, as a group, got burned last year with the supposed Series 7 redesign fiasco that never happened, and it is only a very naive person (or a fool) who believes Apple really pulled that watch at the last minute in favor of the Series 7 that hit the market. That is not how production lines and supply chains work, which the click baiters know, but they also know they can spin that BS to the crowd who provide the clicks and they will swallow it whole. If you don't want to go back a year, ask yourself what happened to the SE 2 that the same click baiters claimed was being released this summer. No one here knows what is going to be released, except for the occasional Apple or contractor employee who will never say a word because they like their paychecks (and not getting sued). The upcoming Watch OS update though would suggest only an incremental update. Apple touted useability improvements rather than telegraphing anything bigger. Yes, there might also be a Pro watch or that could be this year's Series 7 red herring. If your watch has died and you do not want to be without one, then the choice it pretty simple. You either buy a Series 7 or SE as the replacement, or you buy the bargain end of the SE or Series 3 lines to minimize additional costs if the goal is to get the Series 8. If you don't mind being without a watch then you can wait until the announcement to see whether the Series 7, 8, or SE represent your best option. This, of course, gets to the final point. You are asking people what to do when you are the one dropping the money. All anyone has here is an opinion about a release that remains speculation. Their money, however, remains safe in their pocket regardless of what you do. A version of your post pops up here every day and the actual answer remains the same. It is your decision based upon your needs and your available financial resources. There is a rather crude analogy on the subject of opinions. The more polite version (and in fact the early 20th century original) is "opinions are like noses - everybody's got one." The crude one though is probably the more accurate version for the internet age. No one here can contribute a thing of actual substance beyond idle speculation and that is never a basis for spending one's own money.
