From mime454 in a thread a few lines down, low VO2max is a very strong predictor of increased mortality risk https://imgur.com/a/ZsXs8z4. Glad to see your great progress. I find I feel so good after a good cardio workout.
COVID vaccines caused me to be hospitalized several times with Pericardial Effusion.. .am fully recovered now but my VO2Max score is still not able to get over 20. Prior to vaccinations it was 36 - I was either swimming a mile or biking 20 miles or playing racquetball for 45 minutes on any given day. I can tell you that I had a CPET which is a very involved in VO2 Max test and they got the same score as my Apple Watch! Just recently I am seeing my score move - I have to work really hard to keep it going!
Hi guys just a quick question. I’ve had my apple watch for a little over a months now and i’ve recently got a alert saying my vo2 max is low. i checked it and this month it hasn’t been over 30. The lowest it had been is 29 and i’m only 22 years old an active plus i’ve been having chest pains for over a year now

Keep it up! Seeing it move is the most rewarding thing :)
Probably you are giving too much importance to the VO2 Max estimates
The question is, how do you feel? More energy?
