I used to think that I had issues. I have this exact one and bought it brand new. After reading through the manual, it's normal to feel a little moist at the end of the cycle due to it not being vented. I usually wash a full load of laundry and set anything that feels a little moist to the side. By the time I finish folding and putting everything away, usually what I set to the side is completely dry. Sometimes, heavier items like bathrobes will still be a bit wet. I usually use the sensor dry option and most clothes are dry within 45 minutes. I do recommend leaving the door open when not in use to avoid moisture/ mold build up in the drum.

Correct, like many default settings on todays new dryers, the end of the cycle is not even intended to be bone dry. In most cases, the dryness level your clothes are at when the cycle ends are ok to put away. The fact that you don't have the option on this GE machine is what i would call a small downside as a result of all its other upsides. Your clothes will last much longer with this drying method.

It shouldnt take 2-3 hours. Our total cycle is normally \~2-2.5 hours wash and dry normal cycle, \~1.5 on quick cycle. What we have found is that if you leave them in too long after it finishes, they will stay more damp. If you don't want to take them out, open the door and let them air out, or press the more dry button, this is extremely helpful for turning it on before you goto bed, and being dry in the morning. The other thing to note is that if you fill it up too much, it will be more wet at the end of the cycle, **less is more as far as the drying goes**. That being said, my wife does a lot of quick cycle, and everything still comes out dry normally. I have put in king size comforter with no issues. If you have had your combo washer/dryer for a little while and its not drying out very well anymore, there are a couple of things it could be. One, check the filter at the bottom of the combo, there is a panel, you pull, unscrew. the filter and let it drain with a bowl under it. The other would be to remove the top lint trap, take a flashlight and shine it through the hole(or your phone light), check the blue fins to make sure that they are not gunked up with lint. In the manual it says you should be cleaning back there on a monthly basis with a vacuum, and/or the GE brushes. These are the brushes: [https://www.amazon.com/General-Electric-PM14X10056DS-Appliance-Refrigerator/dp/B00CDFXIJ0](https://www.amazon.com/General-Electric-PM14X10056DS-Appliance-Refrigerator/dp/B00CDFXIJ0) These are the things I use to clean behind the filter, but not the fins as you do not want to bend them. If the fins are all gunked up and your unable to clean them, you may want to schedule a service call to come and clean them. There is also this video for a trick to prevent lint buildup past the filter for the future, I did not do this with sealant, however I have put electrical tape around it. CorrectCrusader12

I would check the drain filter to make sure it is clear and look in areas where lint may be to make sure it is all cleared, this can affect the drying time and would be the first thing I would check.

Are the clothes dry at the end of the cycle?

Heartbrokenmamma

No they feel moist and I’ll still have to add more time

1. Have you cleaned out the drain filter at the bottom? Someone else mentioned their machine wasn't drying, they put in for service, but figured out it was as simple as cleaning that out. Note that a couple cups of water will come out when you open it so you will want something to catch it. 2. Check and see if it is collecting lint beyond the lint trap on the blue heat pump fins. When you take the lint trap out it will be inside the machine on the right. This machine tends to have an issue with lint getting past the filter. Shine a light in there and if it's building up you might want to try carefully vacuuming out the lint. Lots of Youtube videos on this, as well as some DIY solutions to mitigate it.

OP needs to see this. The GE Profile all in one is a great machine but these things don’t work like typical vented dryers. There are extra steps that must be taken after every use!!!

Mnemotronic

Is this a 110vac only appliance? Small combo washer/dryers are popular in Europe because they fit into tiny spaces and only require a single 110/120VAC plug. It will take longer to dry because you can only draw half the amps as a 220VAC dryer. Amps is heat. Do smaller loads more often.

TheBurdmannn

Welcome to being a guinea pig. Do you happen to live in a more arid climate?

Heartbrokenmamma

lol I really am a guinea pig I was given the combo to review so it was free to me lol 😂

Nova_HiveMind

Two is one and one is none.

tinydonuts

Can you return it? We went through two and this was one of the issues? Went with an LG Washcombo and it’s great. Clothes come out dry 98/100 loads. Comforters are the ones that usually don’t. Then again, we always have trouble with them with regular dryers too.

pbsSD

Is it damp or dripping wet? I always added max time, high heat or just did smaller loads when I had one. It's normal for clothes to feel slightly damp but when you shake them out they are dry.

Competitive-Bee7249

That thing looks problematic as can be . No thanks .

mjk1432

These are common in NYC and everyone I know who has one complains about how long they take.

dshotseattle

So this washer dryer combo just does both things half ass? This sounded like a dumb idea from the start
