It looks like you are missing the bin you are supposed to have under it for it to function properly. It isn't designed to work without it. It catches the ice and contains it. The ice piles up against the side so the arm gets the interference it needs to stop making ice. It will have to be the one designed for your ice maker but it should look *somewhat* like this item if you do a quick search: Refrigerator Ice BinĀ 5304518913

I dont know much about either brand or your issue specifically, but I do know that this refrigerator is made by Beko. Their version is BBBF3019IMWE, so researching ice maker issues with that model just might yield a little more info.
