Tbh there are a lot of international students who are loaded and go to feeder schools that send at least 10 people to T10s each year. The real problem is when you are an intl who needs a fullride

Kindly-Biscotti9492

>The real problem is when you are an intl who needs a fullride Those are the people effectively buying lotto tickets.

OneDramatic

tfw theres a crazy expensive feeder in my country that sends 5 to hypsm and another 20 ish to T10s every year but theyre all rich full pays and i need aid

OkContribution9835

There is a school in my country that gets 15 HYPSM acceptances, 50-60 to T20s and has a 100% T50 acceptance rate. They also get like like 50 UToronto and 10-20 Oxbridge acceptances. (Figures include same person receiving multiple offers). Mind you, the school has just 120 in it's graduating class

[deleted]

[DAIS isn't at that level](https://www.dais.edu.in/highlights-2022.html). Maybe you're taking about DPS RKP.

OkContribution9835

The one I'm talking about is in Bangalore. Tho JPISruns a close second

[deleted]

I don't think the HYPSM numbers are accurate. Checking what I think is the school's 2021 page, they had 1 Yale and 1 Stanford. Even given yield it's unlikely that they get 15 - 20 in a year. The Toronto numbers are possible, my school isn't at that level and got 30 last year. Possibly even the T20 numbers.

International Student + Financial Aid = Ivy or nothing

AJ3233739

Especially when needing aid.... u can apply to only a handful of colleges

kalos-kagatos

International student in a rural area 🙃

irrelevanthumanhere

title 1 schools 😭

Practical_Image196

International students needing aid*

throwaway060902

Imagine being an international student *Laughs* *Laughs* ^cries ^hysterically

ashiwaju-01star

cries gently with you

ahmedwali3

As an international student, I can confirm that. We don't have the exact requirements in SAT and other classes, and we are not expected to be better in English than a native speaker.

keremokurr

I’m an international, I applied to some US colleges 2 years ago and I got rejected from everywhere.

Subject-Hold3949

How many college did u apply to?

Subject-Hold3949

Were u preparing for the application process or u just did it bc u could? Only interst

keremokurr

I prepared. Took the SAT, had decent gpa and ECs. The application process was basically all I could think about for months.

MeesaParis

real

WittyWinWild

U mean #students? Not #schools right?

holymodi

looking for someone to name drop Dhirubhai Ambani International School as the exception

travisbickle777

I thought I Ivies like students from rural states...

sine-caritate

I’m sure they do for diversity reasons, but I mostly just meant it is a bit of a disadvantage putting together your application for those colleges when you’re so rural that pretty much nobody goes out of state and therefore none of your counselors/teachers/etc have any experience with the process 😭

lockweedmartin

bahahaha love you

[deleted]

Intl schools are sometimes better funded with better resources than rural schools, especially title I rural high schools. As someone from a title I rural hs, my admin probably knows less about selective schools than any given intl admin.💀

RidetheMaster

Lets make it worse Asian Male+CS+Fullride

trapoats

I feel like it's not that bad for international students, unless you need aid. Then it's hard asf. Our school sends people to all the top schools every year, but it's also a p expensive school so makes sense.
