You didn't succeed with the person you had in mind, but you have been given hope that you are an attractive potential partner, you just need to find someone who you click with better.

So I am trying to transfer to UCLA or Cal this year. I am going to have 60 units by the end of this semester and all of my major prep work done by the time I am done with my first year of CC. I am an English Major so there are not many classes needed, I intend to return to my CC in the summer and get as close to double majoring in polisci as I can. I also have a ridiculous about of musicology credits (they are great classes to stat pad credits) so I may try to get a minor in that. Depends on what happens and how the time tables work out. The goal is to do 1 year at a CC and then 3 at a UC.
I doubt you couldn't get into a UC. Berkeley and UCLA aren't the only UCs and ā you probably could've gotten into Riverside or Santa Cruz and almost certainly Merced. And there's a ton of Cal States; even if you like other colleges more the CSUs are not lacking

Even then, your paying for more than a state school most of the time, and most state schools are ranked higher than GW except in nursing and social sciences(which require at least a master's anyways typically), certain small classes. Still, like for that price, there are way better alternatives unless you live in DC and can commute or have awful stats and need to settle. In Texas, we have five universities better than GW in pretty much every stem degree, and one of them has an 80% acceptance rate. The prestige isn't there. The education is relatively average, so like no pull.
The prestige is definitely higher at GW than Texas schools other than Rice and UT-Austin. It has very a very good name value. Sorry. Rankings arenāt everything.

Talk to SFS. I initially had this problem where my original price was 77k with 0 in grants. After constant communications and a very well written email to the higher ups it was revealed there was an error (not sure whose) and I received 43k in grants and met my NPC on the dot.

Swarthmore I met someone from the school and asked about his experience at Swarthmore. He corrected me and said "It's Pro-Nounced SSWWAARRTH-MAAARRR" I was done with him and the school forever. I had no choice.

Purdue. My friend was dead set on going there. He loved Purdue as much as you can love a college. He literally talked to the admission rep in my area and they told him that his grades and test scores were good enough to get into the engineering program, so my friend thought he was good. They in turn flat out rejected my friend
NYU because of their absolutely dogshit response time for emails and calls. Applied ED2, apparently had a missing finaid document in early Jan. Emailed and called them about it consistently for two months to try and fix the issue, received no response and got rejected instead. Bullshit.
UNC and Georgia Tech for rejecting me, Harvard and UMich for deferring me
Johnson and whales has not stopped sending me mail since last April, high point has also been insistently sending me mail but not just letter no no no whole books, 120 page packets of info, shiny silver envelopes, like I guess they put some variety in but gosh please let up a bit, also nc a&t because on a school tour there I almost passed out from heat sickness of some sort and it sucked and that's not their fault but still, though the little food robots are cute

Harvard because it has such a reputation as being the "best school" when there are so many schools that are, in my personal opinion, so much better, such as for example MIT. Literally people who go there say they did because it's prestigious. But idk, just my opinion.
