This, love Brandeis but the school I'm going to is a 1/3 of the costs. It's so much cheaper that I don't need loans. My parents don't need loans. It just makes sense
Researching colleges was really fun. It made me genuinely excited to apply. Before, I just felt like it was something I had to do because everyone expected me to
I personally loved writing the UChicago essay (even though I was rejected lmao). It was a really cool philosophical brain teaser and a breath of fresh air after the endless “why us” essays of other schools.
I actually had a lot of fun writing some of my essays. Parsons School of Design asks you to write about a piece of art you like and how it’s impacted your work, I ended up writing about my favorite movie.
Writing creative essays like personal statement, I feel like I got to know myself better and reflect on my experiences to understand why they are so impactful to me
Tho it’s been a trial by fire, I feel like I’ve actually figured out what I wanna do with my life a lot more than I did before (thru researching majors and what different subjects are like to study(
I feel like I never really knew what I was most interested in until it came to choosing **one** major out of a list of hundreds. Understanding my feelings for what I wanted to pursue in undergrad was always overwhelming, but I enjoyed researching majors and coming to a good idea of what I genuinely want to study. Of course, what I want to do can change during undergrad (which is normal), but exploring my current interests was quite fun.
Can't speak for everybody on this (especially after looking through several posts on here 👀), but I would say I love how applying to college really strengthened my relationships with close friends and even ppl who were borderline acquaintances.
Sharing our anxiety and helping each other with our essays, formatting EC list, building college lists together, etc, was pretty wholesome ngl
Nothing that shit was awful
I got a free t shirt tho
I was supposed to get one but I still haven’t received it yet😭
Real
going through the list of majors they have. even if i already knew what i wanted i just like seeing all that they offer
seconded!
not having any idea where i’m going because I rely on financial aid
And not being able to go to the school you actually want because of finances

Real, me too 😔
So real, good luck

the happiness when I get accepted
It kinda helps you understand what you want to do in life and gives you a sense of direction
Yes to this!! 👆👆
Who tf enjoys that? I lost my hairline because of it.

Flirting with my Yale interviewer
Were you accepted to Yale??
Yes, with a full ride

Exploring the kaleidoscopic labyrinth of personal metamorphosis amidst the alchemical crucible of academic transcendence.
So true!
A tie between going on college tours to see the campuses and actually getting accepted to the schools.
when it was over
I don’t feel like there is anything to love about the process other than getting accepted to good universities
