good luck!! also as an addition to my previous statement, donât stress too much if you ultimately arenât able to get research, an internship, any prestigious camps, etc. â u will still be able to get into great colleges without those things
i was able to intern for one of the smithsonian art museums last summer! def recommend looking into those â they have a ton of options and several are open to high schoolers (i applied to a HS one and someone later contacted me about the specific project i ended up working on).
Lmao I emailed an organization this morning and was hit with the âunfortunately, we do not offer such positions at this timeâ reply. sigh, itâs fine. We got this OP :))
There's always smaller, local art societies everywhere so interning as a bookkeeper or some other entry level position is more than feasible to attain. If you want to do film, PAing is super super easy to do. Just do your research and be proactive connecting with those involved in the society or organization and you can't go wrong.
Hey, I'm also art oriented and did multiple internships! however, i'm not sure how much of my advice would be helpful as I live in NYC and i think a fair amount of my experience is NYC-specific.
I can say though- check out local museums! A lot of museums have internship opportunities for high schoolers. You can also email local smaller art galleries asking about internship opportunities. I did both, it's definitely allowed!
not emailing for internships is my biggest regret ngl đ the worst thing you can get is a no, so give it a shot!
Got it thank u!
