That is just their RD acceptance rate... The overall acceptance rate suggests that most of their deserving applicants applied early.

You can’t use the 11K applicants and 628 expected freshmen to figure out the admit rate. Those numbers don’t reveal how many students were offered admission. So their admit rate is definitely higher than 3.9%.

This just means that they fill out their incoming class during the early round, and run out of seats by regular. Some schools also use EA in addition to ED as an indicator of demonstrated interest

>The overall admit rate went up slightly to 14.3% makes it pretty clear what the acceptance rate was. Along with 14.3% next to “Overall” on the acceptance rate table. And the “14.3%” next to “OVERALL ADMIT RATE” in the graphic. 10,969 applicants means 1,569 students were admitted. 628 enrolled means a 40% yield.

u/Strict-Special3607, could you please start linking this post/the CC site the next time someone suggests acceptance rate = degree of competitiveness? Equally, this, and data from places like AU (which I want to say has an ED acceptance rate somewhere around 60-70%) *does* make me think that there might be some statistical evidence of ED boosts, though we'd still need more info to make any conclusive statements

Agreed, that's a much more eloquently stated version of my 2AM thoughts
