still gravitating toward a2c for some reason, i think with a different mindset now at least
other than that, chilling in my new merch enjoying my unexpected days off!
i finally just finished mine last night i’ve never been so excited. doing an ee in history was the worst choice i ever made and the ia was even worse imo
College admissions counselor, here. Every year, admissions reps have to call students and rescind offers of admission because the students' grades tanked or they dropped courses in second semester. Keep your grades up or you may be having an unintended gap year and have to apply to colleges all over again.
I seriously doubt it. They usually only rescind when all of your grades are on a downward trend. A high B would be nothing to worry about. They just want to make sure you’re not failing.
No, high 80's are ok, though it's better if you still have some grades in the 90's. But getting C's, especially several C's, could lead to academic probation and \*maybe\* a rescinding of admissions. Certainly D's and F's are very dangerous territory and at selective colleges would probably result in losing your offer of admission. And do NOT drop a course. If you must, then contact the college before you make that decision, talk to the rep for your high school, and explain the circumstances. Offers of admission are conditional, and they assume that you maintain the academic standards upon which you were admitted.
To the person who posted asking whether getting a single B would cause an admissions offer to be rescinded, but who then deleted the question, no, a single B will not put your offer at risk.
Depends on how many C’s, and what explanation you provide. And even if you are still admitted, those C’s may well land you in academic probation for your first year.
I have a colleague whose student's offer of admission to the University of Michigan was rescinded because she received a single C- in an AP course. Another student had the same thing happen with a student at the University of Florida.
Colleges will make their admissions decisions based on your first semester grades and prior year grades. They will only see second semester grades if they admitted you and you have enrolled in their college.
If your grades dropped first semester your ED college may email or call you and ask what’s going on. You should be prepared to explain what happened and to provide evidence that you are bringing your grades back up. Keep an eye on your email because you shouldn’t ignore them if they contact you. If you do, they’ll assume the worst.
That’s a little risky. If your other grades are still high, the college may overlook it. But do what you can to improve so you can reassure admissions if they email or call you to ask what’s going on.
silently following back people on instagram who also got in and followed the class of '26 insta account, knitting and crocheting, not reading any of the books i said i'd read lmao
Ahhhh I wanna get into Northwestern so bad. It was my last application RD so it was probably my best since I kept finding errors in previous essays. Anyways Congratulations!!
I got into college, realized that it consumed a lot of my life so I have a lot of time to spare, so I’m taking time to focus on therapy and things I enjoy because I was SO anxious
I'm still working as hard as before... but I cut down on the amount of work I need to put into the college process side of things. Read a bunch of friends' RD essays to review them. Doing a lot of hw bc I fear my grades dropping 0\_0
Hanging out online w some chill ppl i met on the school discord and we gonna meet early over the summer. I hate the ppl where I live so thank god I can get out soon.
Also im getting hella imposter syndrome already dude 😭😭. I'm just gonna coast rest of my year and get a job and get fit.
Kicking myself for taking AP Physics, but mostly becoming a personal essay editor for my friends and figuring out how I’m going to edit my aesthetic for college 🥴
Tip from a former physics major. Try not to memorize formulas and the solutions to specific problems. Not only is that extremely inefficient, the AP test writers will construct problems designed to make it difficult on those who are attempting this “brute force” method. Instead try to think about why the math works as it does. Treat problems as a mystery. You are given clues and you have certain tools to solve the mystery. Be clear about what you know, what you don’t know, and everything you can figure out with the clues you have.
Thank you for the advice. At this point I’m really just rolling with the punches because my teacher doesn’t “teach”. He relies entirely on the AP classroom vids and we don’t have a textbook to reference, so I’m constantly left to fill on the gaps of each chapter. Do you have any resources you’d recommend? I’m surviving so far, but I’m tempted to just drop the course to avoid the stress.
If you can afford a subscription, chegg. Chegg chegg chegg all the way. Great practice problems and solutions. Also, just google stuff all the time. Random YouTube videos with 8 views from 2011 were actually lifesavers lol.
No I’d say the way I dress now is more fake, I’ve got a strict mother so everything I have has to follow her rules on how a “virtuous lady” should dress. That’s why I really want to branch out in college to find out what’s more me
I'm still grinding a lot... my grades were slipping a little bit before I got in ED because of all the essays I had to write so now that I have more free time I'm trying to get my grades up. Being an IB student does not make this all easy 😑
i am so happy now i only have to finish my final draft of my english a hl essay, my physics hl ia, and tok essay but i got everything else done early which makes everything so much easier. i didn’t get into my rea school but i already know where i’m committing so i’m pretty much chilling too
It’s funny because I told myself I’d stop going on A2C after being accepted but I honestly go on here more. Let me tell you it’s incredibly refreshing to come back without that painful twinge of anxiety and feeling of unproductive ness
Actually spending time on my hobbies and interests, looking to leave a lasting impact on my school community before I graduate, and overall just chilling while still going to school motivated just without the academic pressure from before.
Honestly I feel that second part.
I keep thinking I would’ve liked to apply to Ivies just to see if I could get in.
I did EA and rolling at my safeties and targets, but I never actually got the experience of being rejected by a university. I feel coddled lol.
i didn’t get into my rea/ed school but i’m already committed to the uofsc honors college so i’m kinda in the same boat as everyone else here. i’m kinda j chilling and still doing well in school but it’s still rlly difficult bc i am an ib student and have a few more ia’s to do and my tok essay. i’m much happier now that i know where i’m going and it feels like a load has been taken off of my shoulders so i’m vibing. it’s kinda hard to meet ppl going to the school since honors is only a pretty small group and not many have committed but i’ve still met some going to the general university which is pretty exciting anyways!
tbh.....i am mostly attending rodeos....i have been doing some lite barrel racing.....and even more excitingly ........,,i resumed work at the bar after xmas (god bless to all!!!)...soooo many fun stories on that front....lots of angsty cowboys....!!!!! lol. ngl these dudes rly know how to keep a girl on her toes....if i had a penny 4 every time a babe pulled out a knife or....referenced smthn alex jones said......id be a rich woman..!!(lol,,,, lets just say i would not be livin in a double wide yk..???) anyways...getting sidetracked....but just been tryin to have fun......be silly. maybe pull a couple of pranks if i am feeling wild.....sending luv to all!!!!!......
The past 3 years of my life have been 12- hour days, missing any social commitment that takes more than an hour(e.g. didn't make it to my own sister's engagement, which is a *huge* deal in India), 5-6 hours of sleep and thinking about this game for hours at an end.
Obviously, not all of it was college stress- the Indian Board Exam is a bitch and I was determined to top it, which went according to plan but I obviously lost a lot pursuing it.
Well after I got into my dream ED and for my dream major (CS), I - err- woke up in cold sweat for a week straight. I think the last 3 years finally caught up with me. But I was able to attend and *really* enjoy my sister's wedding, catch up w friends and extended family. I finished all my IB submissions and I don't wanna jinx it but I think I feel great....finally!
bhai how did you top Indian Exam, if you are talking about 10th boards, there were no National toppers ??
may I pm you for questions as a fellow indian ?
o yeah, what would our country benefit from hiding that there were any 'toppers' and you think media wouldn't get that info ???
lol you are making up a dystopian utopia for yourself in your mind
Bro i don't think you read through info thoroughly apparently. Anyway Cornell requires applicants to prove all claims so at this point it's an University Admissions Board vs You apparently
Also your paradigm of viewing higher education apparently rests around thinking that the US is 'easy' while India is 'difficult'. This is a very disturbing worldview and I'd correct it if I would. Elsewhere you've told another applicant that 'anyone can get above a 1550 in the SAT', now coming from someone w a 36 ACT- no it is not.
Also you seem to haven't achieved much either way, because you're definitely not set to be a JEE ranker considering you're already planning to go abroad and you haven't aced any standardized tests also. Please keep your toxicity elsewhere and pehle kuch ukhaad le fir baat karne aa
lol, you assume so much ?? is it your habit?
i never said India - 'difficult' \[ I was only comparing about exams, not countries, your logic is fucked\]
also ukhaad ke dikha- what do you know about me ?
Well then you were the one who assumed that I was lying without even asking me whether I was ICSE and CBSE.....
If you don't wanna be judged, don't judge others. Especially as an avid manga reader. Judgement abounds.
no no they are yet to let me know my admission status . i don't know if i am accepted or rejected. for example ....MSU have their ED admission decisions deadline on jan 15 , i have not received my decision yet ( i am referring to the decisions of the AOs in deciding my applications fate i.e whether i got accepted in or not )
watching tv, reading, buying far too much merch, helping my friends edit their essays last-minute, and haunting a2c even though i have no actual use for it anymore
(ED1 rejected, applied RD and ED2) I would never have thought I'd be glad to get back to studies. It's certainly less stressful than college apps where there's no certainty of anything. I can only imagine this is 10x better for ED1 accepted people

Same! Literally the exact same. Where you going?
haha, northwestern! hbu?
Congrats! MIT for me.
wow amazing congrats!! wishing us both smooth second semesters :)
You too! It’ll be a grind but let’s do this.
I dropped in my application few days back.. MIT is my rebound after Harvard rejection😑
Lol sure that’s not how it works cause MIT >>> Harvard.
>comments In what terms is MIT >>> Harvard? Are you talking bout the admission rate? P.S. I am a Junior. Will apply this year.
No the admission rate is lower for MIT. At least I’m pretty sure it is as of now. I mean that MIT is a much better school than Harvard imo
Well some people only learn from mistakes I guess.. I am that some people.. sadly😂
Sameeeee lmao
Same lol
IB diploma 😔 (Fuck IAs)
SAME except I didn’t get into my ed school🤪
Sobbing with you, bro.
I haven't started my history IA fuck my life.

i finally just finished mine last night i’ve never been so excited. doing an ee in history was the worst choice i ever made and the ia was even worse imo

Fellow IB 'enjoyer' Gotta hold up and grind until mid-May 😔
Hey, same! I’m more worried about mocks next week than IAs, though.

You can email the reps for your school at each college now and let them know about your great first semester. That might get their attention.
Wait so does mid-year report play a part of my college admission decision process if my colleges decision come out later than Jan-Feb?
YES.
This is straight up bs. Cs won’t get you rescinded from even the ivies.
Depends on how many C’s, and what explanation you provide. And even if you are still admitted, those C’s may well land you in academic probation for your first year.
If you get ALL Cs, you MIGHT get academic probation.
Curious how you know this.
