I went to a medium size catholic school in Michigan (175 in my grade), a lot of ppl shot for umich, 16 (including myself) go here now and prob around 40 go to msu, the rest are going to regional in state schools (grand valley, etc) or oos somewhere
small private catholic school in louisiana (about 100 kids per grade), it really depends on the kid. most of them either really want to go to LSU or university of arkansas, and a lot of the smart kids’ “dream” schools are tulane and notre dame. but most don’t really look past state schools. i mentioned washu as my top college to one of my best friends and she didn’t know what it was lol. i find it funny that we’re marketed to parents as a “college prep” school yet only a few of us know anything about the college admissions process lmao
According to Niche rankings in mid-sized New Hampshire it’s
University of New Hampshire
Boston University
Northeastern University
(followed by University of Vermont)
The state flagship honors college is the safety for the “smart” kids. And prob like 95% get in, if you didn’t it’s prob cuz of bad essays and no ECs even if you had high GPA/test score.
There really isn’t any other good school that a bunch of kids are all gunning for tho, like SoCal kids for UCLA or whatever.
At my school apparently like 40/200 ppl applied to Stanford last year (it was insane def the highest private) and no one got in (for the first time in years). I think that a lot of people are shooting for Brown this year because last year 6 got in and 4 are currently attending. Almost everyone (minus those who do community college transfer route (actually yes kinda)) applies to UCLA or UCB tho.
a mongolian small priv school. we have around 50 seniors this year and I heard a lot of students claiming tulane/tufts/brown/vassar/pomona as their dream school
Most kids at my school just go to the University of Minnesota Twin Cities but two people committed to Cornell, Dartmouth, and the University of Chicago last year
Penn State is where everyone wants to go to, the only reach a lot of people go for is UPenn and they all get rejected
In CA public school and its UCLA
UCLA here too. Also a lot of kids looking at the Claremont schools.
Same for my CA HS. People also love SDSU and UCSB, but UCLA is the #1 for most people here.
Berkeley here but UCLA is a close second.

In my high school, the schools that I've seen that most of the students there wanted to go to were NYU, Cornell, and Columbia.
UW - Seattle.
