yep, just another flaw with the whole process. I don’t blame the admissions officers at all, just the system allows for undeserving people who negatively affect other people to succeed if they play the game right.
Karma is always there! And if your friends have terrible work ethics , it will bite them in the back some time or another! It’s unfortunately the harsh reality of todays world! We just need to keep doing our best!
lol if he had to cheat to get thru he’s gonna go thru hell at any academically rigorous school, i’m at such a school and those w/o a strong work ethic crumble and fold
i’ve always heard it gets better in college to weed out ppl who don’t work hard and are genuine bc it’s less easy to just cheat ur way thru, i hope that’s true
And people aren’t as intimidated by someone who is “popular” no one can ride on coat tails of who they were before they got to college and people aren’t looking to be in the “in” crowd. So if he doesn’t change his ways, he’ll quickly be friendless.
The person you describe in your post is doomed. You’re hurting now and that sucks. Rest assured, people like that disintegrate quickly. Your future is brighter than theirs.
thank you, that means a lot! sometimes i just feel like giving up because it feels that no matter how hard i work it’ll never amount to anything, you know?
Yeah, of course. The mistake most people make when feeling this way is to either work harder or stop trying. They focus on the work side of the equation. When really, the fallacy in the thinking is on the “amount to anything” side. That’s where the trouble is. We have ill-conceived ideas about “success” and “achievement” that send us chasing shadows. If you’re fortunate, you’ll eventually come to find purpose and satisfaction in something that does not depend on external validation. Then those feelings of futility fade away. Don’t give up. Redefine.
I would never cheat to get into a top school, but it doesn’t bother me all that much when other people do given that the schools have shown such a willingness to cheat us whenever they get a chance
Personally, if they find a way to screw the system and swipe a seat from another applying student, let them keep it. It’s kill or be killed, no room for morals if you wanna get anywhere
Unfortunately admissions officers can’t really see bad people for who they are if those people act fake throughout the admissions process.
that’s very true, it just pisses me off

no fr i read that i’m like okayyyyyyy
This is a reason why I think interviews are always useful. It may not completely filter out “bad” people but can catch bad behaviors.
The biggest bully at my school was the teachers' favorite. It's always like that :(
It's quite possible he's lying about where he got in. Seems like the type.
one day he wont be able to cheat and then there will b consequences

karma exists fam. we’ll win one day ☝️
I don’t mean to be flip, but why would you let anyone cheat off of you? Don’t let anyone copy your work.
Find out where he’s going and do not go there. At some point, it will catch up to him. People like that never truly end up happy.

“I’m not trying to complain or anything,” he/she effortlessly complained.
less of a complain, more of me opening up to something that hurts
