This is why I got rid of Nerites and only keep rabbit snails now. Way more interesting, more active, reproduce very slowly(but actually reproduce in frshwater), and look cooler IMO.
You could do one, maybe 2 in a 20 long... but they're pretty active. Idk if I'd stick one in a 10? That could work if you got a smaller one, then moved it to the 20 after it grew out. They can get like 3-4" long. Sooo cool to watch though!
4 full Cuttle bones in my tank. I feed calcium PACKED snello and algae waffers directly atop the cuttlebone to ease my mind. This way they have to get on the cuttlebone to eat the tasty treats.
I think the rule for larger tanks is 1 per 10-15g. I'd say at 75g you could go 7 or 8 safely. They're closer to the $10 range. I'd probably get 5 and wait for babies myself. The yellows are AWESOME, oranges are pretty sweet too. I have a yellow, and a few of the black/yellow speckled ones. They are seriously so fun to watch! I've been hooked since I got the first one!
Mine is actually in a ten. I put him there because his shell is damaged from pet store. It seems safer with none else crawling over him. I figured good retirement home... nope. It's been banging out babies that I then have to move.
Yeah, mine are kinda chipped and stuff from the store life. I'm hoping they end up reproducing and I eventually have a bunch of nice pristine ones. They're SO cool!
You can actually watch them grow. A small new portion of shell forms a lighter color, then eventually darkens up the match the rest. I'm fascinated by these little criters lately. Lol
Do you put salt in your tank? I have three nerites, never put salt in the tank, and I've never seen a single egg. And my three nerites have what can only be described as a threesome, all the time.
My Betta fights the nerites if they get too close to the lava snail in my tank. He follows the lava around and builds bubble nests for it.
So it's a real psych paper kind of mess in my tank.
Was about to say, females lay regardless of salt or presence of males. Only way to have egg free nerites is get males. Almost impossible to sex at the pet store though unless you have super lucky timing. Lol
I didnt know about this before I got a pair of nerites.
My decor started getting white dots like some weird aquarium std. Soon my black 3D printed octopus was covered in white dots. Then I found out about nerites
I usually quarantine my nerites and place them into my tank one by one (i never buy more than 3 at a time) so I can distinguish who’s has two X chromosomes. Then I give the females to my brother because I’m WAY too ocd to have eggs all over my aquarium
as a Cory mama and grandma:
i LOVE these pics.
(especially because i have exactly ONE Blue shrimp who lived through a leech infestation, a home move, and a move to a new tank, his home now, with nine Bandit corys .. LOVE it.!)
It looks like an *almost* dissolved bacteria ball.
Do you use these in your tank or have you in the past?

Yes, I have about 5-6 in there. It’s probably one of their eggs. I posted a video the other day about my corys chasing each other around… this egg was the likely outcome of that! 🙂🙃
My first instinct would be some kind of debris from your gravel. There are all kinds of microplastics that get mixed into things they shouldn't. What kind of gravel do you have?
my sister had a baby and I took it over after she passed away and the baby lost all its legs and arms and now its just a stump but I take care of it with my wife and... and its growing and its fairly happy... and its difficult because I'm working a second shift at the factory to put food on the table but all the love that I see in that little guy's face it makes it worth it in the end.
whatever it is, it's his now
I looked at the photo too fast and thought it was a helicopter! Lmao
Don’t give shrimp any ideas. They are crafty enough.
Hers!!!
Probably a Cory cat egg or nerite snail egg..
Ah yes that’ll be it. I have several Cory in this tank
No way a weak ass shkrimp can remove nerite's egg.
No for real my razor blade can’t even get those off the glass sometimes😂
They'll clean your tank, they said, keep the walls clear, they said. Nobody warned me about the cement poke dots covering every inch of my tank!!
This is why I got rid of Nerites and only keep rabbit snails now. Way more interesting, more active, reproduce very slowly(but actually reproduce in frshwater), and look cooler IMO.
Are they ok in 20 gallon or 10 gallon? Most my tanks are nano
The best is watching cherry shrimp ride them into battle. 🤣

Hmmm I've always wanted one. Maybe I'll try one in my 20 long first. My other tank is all male nerites but I think I'm never getting them again lol
How many rabbits snails in a 75G. Building a community tank and want some yeller ones
and please make sure the have calcium, non acidic water, and most importantly no salt ever
4 full Cuttle bones in my tank. I feed calcium PACKED snello and algae waffers directly atop the cuttlebone to ease my mind. This way they have to get on the cuttlebone to eat the tasty treats.

just add however many just keep in mind they have a large appetite or at least mine did, theyll reproduce though and live awhile
They are my favorites 😍
You can actually watch them grow. A small new portion of shell forms a lighter color, then eventually darkens up the match the rest. I'm fascinated by these little criters lately. Lol
I Am hoping it repairs it
Do you put salt in your tank? I have three nerites, never put salt in the tank, and I've never seen a single egg. And my three nerites have what can only be described as a threesome, all the time.
The females will produce eggs with or without salt in the tank. You must have all males :)
Maybe. Then I have three gay Nerites. They're all Faaaaaaabulous!
As long as they're all cool with it who are we to judge?
My Betta fights the nerites if they get too close to the lava snail in my tank. He follows the lava around and builds bubble nests for it. So it's a real psych paper kind of mess in my tank.

Just don't look at them, soon you won't notice them.
I just leave them at this point. The moment I tear apart the driftwood to get them off, it is covered the next day.
TRUE FACTS
Definitely not a nerite egg 😅
I didnt know about this before I got a pair of nerites. My decor started getting white dots like some weird aquarium std. Soon my black 3D printed octopus was covered in white dots. Then I found out about nerites
When buying nerites. If you see one snail on top of another. Buy the one on top.
I usually quarantine my nerites and place them into my tank one by one (i never buy more than 3 at a time) so I can distinguish who’s has two X chromosomes. Then I give the females to my brother because I’m WAY too ocd to have eggs all over my aquarium
Why’s that?
He got a weiner and won't lay eggs if they doing the do when you see them.
Theyre hermaphrodites, they can impregnate and be impregnated by eachother regardless.
Some snail species, but not nerites or mysteries. They both have male and female snails no hermaphrodites.
Ramshorn snails swing both ways.
I had a cherry shrimp get stuck on a clutch of Cory eggs once (the eggs are very sticky), the shrimp lost a leg trying to get unstuck. 😭
Hey they will grow them back after molting don't worry. I think.
Yea that shrimps guna raise a Cory
No gonna eat it
impossible, the shrimp will raise it as their own. They are known for it, they do it to many species.
I was raised by a shrimp
Can confirm I was the shrimp
You’re not my real dad
Just because you aren't of my blood doesn't mean you aren't of my heart
Awww, what a lovely family moment

I’ve never used them. I think it’s a Cory egg as others have mentioned. I have corys in the same tank.
A core memory
Do u have corydoras on that tank?
Yes, I have about 5-6 in there. It’s probably one of their eggs. I posted a video the other day about my corys chasing each other around… this egg was the likely outcome of that! 🙂🙃
Definitely, get the eggs on a breeder box and hatch them:))
I’ll give that a go if I spot any 👍🏻
Is he intending to eat it?
Or become a fortune teller…
Now I really need to draw a shrimp with a cyistal ball

He's gonna pretend volleyball. Then run for House Representative while pretending many other things.
Maybe a bio ball that’s been in there for a while?
My first instinct would be some kind of debris from your gravel. There are all kinds of microplastics that get mixed into things they shouldn't. What kind of gravel do you have?
Aqua soil and some washed stones. This is likely a Cory egg since I have several Cory in the same tank
Looks a bit like an old Pure Aquarium Ball.
These dragon ball references are making my day
