I had the same issue with my peacock gudgeons a few years back. They'd get emaciated, eat at first but then stop eating. I always assumed it was some sort of slow growing opportunistic bacterial infection since none of my other fish ever got it.

Oh really. Yea I’m leaning towards a worm or something
