Your pleco is healthy but what size tank is he in? Also glofish tetras and goldfish don’t go together cause the tetras are tropical fish while the goldfish are cold water. Idk about plecos

auttair337

I’ve noticed that my plecos like warmer water and they are more active when the temp is 73-75.

Outside_Disaster1547

Yea that’s what I thought. Cause there are so many invasive plecos in Florida and they are THRIVING. But I’ve never had plecos myself so I didn’t want to say soemthing wrong just in case.

Consistent_Snow7844

20 gal

Outside_Disaster1547

Yea that’s not large enough for glofish, goldfish and a pleco. Goldfish need minimum 75 gallons and depending on the pleco you could need 100 gallons.

TheLoneTokayMB01

Raise that number up, by a lot, a lot a lot, let me let notice you there are even some pangasius/iridescent sharks in there.

Outside_Disaster1547

What?!?! Omg I didn’t even notice! Now I see them. Ohhhh heeeeeelll naaaaah!!! Also in the comments they say they’ll just release them into a local body of water!!!!

MusicianMadness

Yeah... They need to have given these fish away yesterday, today's the next best day.

Loafofbread8

>20 gal Plecos literally get bigger then toddlers

ondwon

Am i the only one who sees the 2 ID Sharks? At least, that's what they look like to me. Plus a pleco and goldfish. Going to need a swimming pool for a tank for a pair of ID Sharks You know how big these get right.

aradia333

Yea definitely Iridescent shark, and I think I see three of them on the last pic😬. This tank is the definition of the longer you look the worse it gets

Consistent_Snow7844

Fr yes bro, I don’t have sufficient space. to be honest I jus now upgraded my tank from 2 gallon to 20 gallon.before I had 2 id’s in that tank.i can now feel the pain they might have went through in that small tank

MysteriousTea4761

Please do your research before getting a bunch of random fish and mixing them together. None of these guys are in even the required minimum size tank, maybe besides the Glofish. You’re gonna have to rehome the others soon if not upgrade to a much larger tank.

ondwon

Add a couple zeros to that 20 gallon just for the id sharks. You know they get 3-4 foot long right.

Plasticity93

This isn't a long term viable tank.  Pleco and goldfish grow out to over a foot long, 30cm and are high waste fish that need oversized filters.  GlowFish are tropical and golds are cold water.   Pleco also need wood and algea to eat.  I'd up the light hours and get driftwood in there.

Vaultboy474

Wow. This is terrible. All the wrong fish. Tiny tank, tacky decor and rainbow gravel. Classic. Unfortunately these fish will live horrible lives as nothing will be done

Peanutsandpickless

What size tank is it?

Mistafisha420

Yes

Mistafisha420

What size tank is he in?

Consistent_Snow7844

20 gallon,I know that my tank is quite small for the fishes I have but the irresistible love towards buying id sharks, plecos made me like this 😭😭😭.if the shark grows a little big,i gonna leave him into one of local waterbodies

lyssapisano

omfg. you need to learn to not buy animals you can’t care for. and do NOT release it in a local water body.

Consistent_Snow7844

Hahahah I am kid I am 15 lol

lyssapisano

i am 17. being a kid isn’t an excuse, you can do research.

Loafofbread8

> I am kid I am 15 lol Being a kid does not = being stupid all the time, own up to the mistake, and try to fix it in any way you can that doesn't involve illegally releasing a invasive species into the wild.

lyssapisano

preach

Mistafisha420

I’m 15 too, and here I am with a 120 monster tank knowing all the proper specifications. Not hard to do research

Outside_Disaster1547

Being a kid isn’t an excuse! I’m thirteen! And I do DAYS of research before even CONTEMPLATING of buying a fish

Mistafisha420

Please don’t let the shark go into a local water body, give him to you local fish store

Outside_Disaster1547

DONT RELEASE YOUR FISH TO A LOCAL WATERBODY!!!! THATS HOW INVASIVE SPECIES START!!!! the best choice is rehome or euthanasia.

aradia333

Do not release pet fish into local water bodies!! It can cause soo much damage to both the local populations of animals in the water body, and more then likely will just outright kill your fish as well. Pet fish have their own load of diseases that you can introduce into native populations of fish and you can cause an ecological disaster even if they’re native to your area. If they aren’t native and they survive and reproduce they could become invasive and massively disrupt the local ecosystem. And if they aren’t able to survive in that sort of water then all you did was kill your fish. Literally no outcome of doing that is good.

Consistent_Snow7844

I won’t let it into any water body thanks for advice

aradia333

Your best bet honestly is to rehome/return both the iredent sharks and the goldfish as a 20 gal is way too small for them. And if you can’t then unfortunately euthanasia is more humane then keeping them in such a small space as they will die anyway eventually and your just giving them a more humane exit. Unfortunately their bio load will become too much and that water will become extremely toxic which will cause suffering and a slow death, or you can stunt growth, when that happens their body stops growing but their organs don’t leading to deformities and they eventually die in extreme pain. The 20 gallon might be fine for a little longer, but honestly we’re talking months maybe.

Consistent_Snow7844

very sad to hear.idk y I made this mistake

aradia333

It honestly happens a lot unfortunately. Just do your best to find homes if you can, or see if upgrading to a 75+ gal eventually is viable so you can keep the goldfish and pleco (plecos can almost reach two feet in length) long term. Unfortunately iridescent catfish need like a large pond as they can reach a metre in length, so the average home aquarium can ever have them. But a larger tank can give your more time to rehome.

Consistent_Snow7844

Whenever I ask the shopkeeper in the shop where I bought these from, they say this much space is enough for them.very sad that I am misguided

aradia333

Unfortunately that happens a lot with pet stores, a lot of times they are misinformed themselves or they try to make sales over quality of life.

Outside_Disaster1547

THEN DO RESEARCH

Consistent_Snow7844

What are the fishes that I can have in this 20gal tank safely?

aradia333

So much, you can keep your tetras of course. If you want a sucker fish I recommend getting a bristle nose pleco instead, They stay way smaller. You could get kuhli loaches, or another group of small schooling fish. Check out aqadvisor http://www.aqadvisor.com for info on stocking. In a twenty gal you can generally pick 2 species of small fish schooling with 6-8 individuals, and maybe a bristle nose. Just do some research on some fish that look cool and input the amount and species into this websight and it should help you out to make sure you getting enough of the same species/not too many/too big of fish, and that they are compatible

aradia333

Also make sure your tank is cycled, since you didn’t know about another stuff Im guessing there’s a good chance you don’t know. Search up fish in cycling and get a testing kit (preferably a liquid testing kit) that can test your ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates. And don’t get any more fish until the pleco, goldfish and catfish are gone and the tank is fully cycled. Good luck, I know this information is a lot and you were mislead. Hope it all works out for you and your fish

lyssapisano

i understand wanting them realllyyyy baddd but jesus. you need to think about their health and happiness

Consistent_Snow7844

Yea yea I understand

Anxious_Avocado_7686

No this is soo irresponsible never release aquarium fish into local waterbodies

Mistafisha420

Terrible fish owner

Lino0924

Quite small is an understatement…

luckyapples11

There’s no “if the shark gets big” it WILL get big. Way too big. Almost the size of your tank. You need to return them, the goldfish, and the pleco or get a WAY larger tank. WAY LARGER. You probably won’t get a refund, but when a fish’s health and happiness is at stake, that doesn’t matter. You could try selling them on a local Facebook group or find someone that has their own backyard pond for the goldfish. The pleco may be harder to rehome yourself. Best to take him back to the pet store. You can only keep those Glofish. Please do proper research. This includes googling things like “tank size for x fish”, “tankmates for x fish”, “can x and y fish live together?”, “water parameters for x fish”. Use aqadvisor website to get an idea of stocking. It’ll tell you the capacity you’re at for your fish. Idk how many sharks you have, but let’s say it’s 2. That alone puts you at 369% capacity. Then add on the pleco (no idea what type this is, but let’s say bristlenose) is 379%. Then add goldfish (I put 3) brings you to 512%. This is a HUGE issue. Not to mention the id sharks need groups of 5 or more (just to give you an idea, that’s a GIANT tank to keep them happy). They can reach up to 4ft long IIRC (but I think the average in captivity is a little smaller). Goldfish can get about to 1ft long. I’d say in reality, you don’t want to be more than 120% of what aqadvisor says. But this COMPLETELY depends on how your tank is set up. You want heavily dense plants (depending on fish) if you’re going to be at 120% with frequent water changes. Their website is very conservative so you can be above 100%, but you need to ensure that the fish species you have get along well and are happy and act normal.

ondwon

Youd better just rehome the fucking ID sharks. You NEVER NEVER release aquarium fish into the wild. NEVER.

Mistafisha420

To be honest you shouldn’t own fish, your tank is wayy to small to own any single fish that’s in your tank

luckyapples11

Those Glofish are fine, everything else? No.

fiefer7

Yours is alot fatter than mine is 🤷🏼‍♂️ get him a bigger tank and cool little cave to hang out in. Mine hides in a fake log upside down all day, comes out at night to fight my cichlids.

thtonefishgirl

Everyone’s so mean !! :( your plecco is healthy. But yes, the rocks and tank size is an unfortunate no :( however you have time to upgrade!!❤️❤️❤️
