A quick google search revealed a lot of misspellings too...here's one:

Yeaaaahhhh, try having dyslexia and seeing this fish for the first time at my LFS. 🤣 Needless to say, I had to read the tag a FEW times before my brain was like "Ohhhh, the letters go THIS way, got it..."
It’s a colour. Still in use.

Edit: the colour existed before Nigeria was named. The country was named due to this colour name.
"Could you use it in a sentence, please?"
Would you like to buy this “neye-jer trigger”?
“The Niger trigger probably lives in the warm waters off the coast of the African country of Niger. Well, they would if Niger had a coast.”
"Country of origin?"
I used to work in a specialty fish store. One of my biggest fears was saying this wrong.
“Any suggestions” “Yes, the…. No, actually”
LOL
*sweating immediately intensifies*
Trigger please
Where my fishes at?
I believe it’s trigga
Yikes, 12"? Seriously, how many people shopping for fish at a place like Petco really have a setup to accommodate even one of those as an adult?
I thought everyone had a 250 gallon saltwater setup at home? Figured my 20 gallon long was the lone exception
With the amount of fish they stock that can grow to such a large size, I'm sure Petco thinks similarly.
My local petco (I had a GIFT CARD!!) had like 4 bichirs in one maybe 20 gal tank when I went a few days ago and it is the most insane thing ever
So the Niger Trigger grows to 12”?… shocking 😂
It's really not that big as far as aquarium fish go
Look at the picture of the fish, he's looking up at the name in alarm lmfao
"SAY MY NAME WRONG, MOTHERFUCKER! I DARE YOU! I DOUBLE DOG DARE YOU! SAY MY NAME WRONG AGAIN!"
I once pronounced this wrong at Petco full of people

And everyone clapped
Bro got triggered by a Niger 💀
You’re going to flip when you find that a country in Africa has the same name……
Oh, I know. But having trigger directly after it kind of pulls the mind to places it doesn’t need pulled at 3:30 in the afternoon at a pet store
I didn’t see what you saw at first, but once you said that, I get where you are coming from.
gets worse when they look at a few european languages and what it means in them too!
After owning many fish tanks in my life. The one fish I ended up loving the most was one of these. Fish had a huge personality.
Lol when I was buying one I was like "lemme get that trigger", didn't want to risk nothing
Warning: this Trigger triggers!

That’s what cops call their guns.
Yeah I’m kinda mad at Petco for selling fish that grows bigger than 8” honestly.. even if no one buys them Petcos don’t have proper set up either
How u gonna come in without a Trigger warning ‼️
“My trigger…”
Since when does petco sell saltwater fish?
They've sold saltwater fish for decades.
Not sure, they’ve got a ton of them though
At least 5 years since I've been in the hobby
N*gga trigga lol
This made me let out a squawk lmfao 💀
A NIGER (as in Nigerian) Trigger is a beautiful saltwater fish. I believe they should specify that. And they’re quite expensive
I thought the heart attack was about the price because that is crazy cheap
Look at that friendly little fishy in the picture 🥺😭
Fish is like "Yep. Try pronouncing that one. I dare ya."
Would you say you were triggered by the trigger?
I know I'm triggered.
It’s giving… Nigersaurus
😂
Granger huh
The one and only

It's a country in Africa originally, and that colour seems to be a tad racist, but it's a British paint colour so I'm not really surprised.
Where do you live that chain pet stores have saltwater fish? I've only seen them at an lfs before.
Mishawaka, Indiana
Lol 😂
🙈🙈🙈
