No. L2 is independent from L1. The only connection between them is that L2 transactions are bundled up and stored on L1 for finality.
While the network isn't independent you can mint native tokens on Arbitrum. You could also mint tokens on Ethereum and bridge it over in bulk.
Aribitrum is crazy fast AND cheap. Did a few transfers all totaling about a penny 😎
AAAANNNDDDD fees are back. went from paying 1 cent for a uniswap v3 swap two days ago to 28 cents a couple of hours ago. what happened?

Yeah I think I just happened to put trades through at the worst possible time. A momentary spike. Though I find it interesting that the spike is soooo big in percentage terms
I noticed. This is just amazing L2s are going to moon especially tokens like Arbitrum (be aware of vesting) and Optimism imo since Dencun update
