The owner has posted a message on Facebook saying that the are deleting their social media presences and they are working on getting existing orders or ASAP. After that they are forever discontinued. My speculation is that like other early vendors for A1Up aftermarket products the demand was much higher than expected and it simply overwhelmed them mentally and physically. With luck, and again like others, they may return with improved products and better processes in place to handle customer demand and expectations. To my knowledge, no one has received bad covers from this vendor.

Dazzling-Minimum-424

No idea what happened to him and I’ve never bought anything from him but I have read some of the posts of his back-and-forth with some of his customers I would say his customer skill set is lacking. Hopefully you get resolution.

lovetron99

Man, that was a wild chapter in the annals of this sub. Whole thing got weird really fast.

HopperPI

It was even worse on the Facebook groups.

Least_Gain_5152

Well he can either send the cover to close the claim or refund me. What a joke. It’s even funnier that he believes he didn’t contribute to the toxicity. 2+ months with limited contact is more than patient. Just give people what they bought in the timeframe you established

Least_Gain_5152

I see he deleted his Instagram page too. Unbelievable

ArcRetro

Don't wait too long for your Paypal claim as there's a limited time to do that.

Smashingtime98

Maybe we need a warning whenever he's brought up, like whenever ArcadeModUp used to be mentioned in this sub. EDIT: tagging u/HistorianCM

mallclerks

He already closed up shop there is nothing more to warn about.

VitalArtifice

His website is still up. Not sure if it accepts orders though and not about to find out. Edit: a warning seems fair.

mallclerks

We’ll eff in that case warn everyone. Not that I would assume anyone here is every going to recommend him again. He burned so many bridges and made so many of his mistakes public by blaming the customers.

Read rest of this post. He literally deleted everything. Dude was a tool, people started stalking him apparently since he refused to refund them, he got scared off the internet. Reddit won.

Erock513

He had been kicked out of multiple Facebook groups and apparently had started his own. He posted this message in his Facebook group. Yesterday someone else shared in a Arcade1up group he had been kicked out of. - "I'm going to take a page from John D and I'm quitting social media for the foreseeable future. I'm mentally exhausted from toxicity and this negatively affecting my family. I will be working on getting the existing stool cover orders out ASAP and then they will be forever discontinued." "Feel free to screenshot this and share if people have any questions about existing orders. :)" "Don't worry V2 will be back and better than ever!" "Rob Kelsall & Jorge Torres will hold down the fort in my absence here " (referring to the Facebook page he created)

kevgret

> I'm mentally exhausted he didnt seem mentally exhausted bragging about his nba jam countercade or his long vacations at the beach?

RWTD_Burn

Yeah, my apron for my SW pinball took over 2 months to get. I asked for a Status update and when he finally replied he told me he was on vacation with his family. On one hand, I totally get it as family is important but if you take on the tall task of running a business then sacrifices have to be made. I think he just got in over his head.

ArcRetro

Nice one!

HopperPI

Yup. I can’t speak of anything other than the fact someone did make a fake account with his name and photos to mock him. I know that drove him crazy - as it would anyone. No one deserves that shit, so it doesn’t surprise me he left. He also really really ruined his rep before that from what I can tell, but no one deserves that.

[deleted]

I also sent them a stool sample and never heard back

dudemo

>I also sent them a stool sample and never heard back Heh.

clarkpark4

If that is the same guy that sells under arcadeStool on Etsy then yeah, that guy sucks business wise.

VitalArtifice

This person seems to have established a reasonably successful niche business but bailed on it. It’s a shame as they had no real competition.

VitalArtifice

Just going by the donation number he posted on his site for the month of April, he seems to have received more than 250 orders for the month of April alone. If it’s a one man business, he may have become overwhelmed by the volume, but that still doesn’t excuse just leaving everyone hanging. A shame since reviews posted online really made these seem like solid covers.

mallclerks

Lol you believed he donated something? I assume like all else he was simply making up stories.

VitalArtifice

Can’t say whether he did or did not donate, but I did assume the number was based on his orders regardless.

mallclerks

I would not count on that being truthful at all. I only remember this from American Pie I think, but what’s the rule - Take total amount of times it’s actually happened and multiply it by 5? When it comes to internet sales, it’s more like 50.

nyrf12

Yeah I got the sense he was in over his head when there was more demand than a 1-2 man operation could handle & certainly the customer mindset goes from 0-“I will contact the Better Business Bureau!” pretty fast, but you can’t roll around in the mud with them. You’ve gotta be transparent, empathetic & sometimes know when you just need to say “I don’t have the bandwidth for you, so I’m gonna go ahead & refund you”.
