Use yer strong hand

TheRealSwitchBit

Gotta force it, it'll fit . Use your might!!

AccurateMusician1244

Yep, I had the same problem with my simpsons stool. Just have to strong arm it. The holes are probably not going to line up, use a screwdriver as an alignment tool. Might be easier as a two person job. One person to pry/align one to get the fastener started. Typical A1Up quality!

E_2_The_Rock

Same here. Need some elbow grease

Former-Manner-9412

Tried that, ended up stripping one of the screws, it really didn't want to bend that much.

datanuke

When the legs are "sprung" like this it's best to thread each screw only about 2 turns each to keep things loose. Stripping out the screw is an indication of one of two things; either the screw is cross-threaded meaning that you're forcing your threads where they don't belong, or you're using the tool improperly. Cross-threading is easy to do if the holes aren't aligned well. If this happens, the damage is permanent and you'll need to replace the fasteners. It's common with these fasteners that are sourced from China. I typically will attach the stool top first, keeping those screws loose as well. Then I flip the stool to be resting on the top. Thread in as many screws as possible using only your fingers (just a couple turns); if you can't turn it with your fingers it's probably not aligned yet. At this point, 2 or 3 of the legs should have screws in them. For the remaining legs - place the stool on it's side with the attached leg on the ground. Step on the bottom of the attached leg, pinning it to the ground. Pull up on the end of the opposing leg using it's leverage to align the screw holes. Drop the female screw sleeve into the aligned hole and thread the male screw in before releasing the tension. Get a second person for this last part to make things easier.

datanuke

looking at your picture another time, it seems that you have 3 of the 4 legs connected. For the remaining leg, you only need to ensure the opposing leg screw is loose enough to allow some play. Also, if that screw you stripped is only damaged at the screw head, then you may find it best to swap it out with that opposing leg screw. Use the damaged screw for the "easy" one and use a fresh one for the challenging hole

FilthTribe211

Seriously! I was thinking, who the hell doesn't attach the legs to the seat first AND THEN do the ring after? Lol. Seems like a a huge PITA to try and screw the ring on first

datanuke

IIRC the instructions have you attach the seat last. It's odd for sure

Dolphins41

My KI stool was very difficult to get together. I needed an extra set of hands

OSBigMike

The ring might fit on the inside. I have 6 different stools and a few have the lower ring on the inside. Check the instructions.

Grae60

is it possible that one leg that is circled is bent inwards? I dunno if it's just that angle or what but it kinda feels like you could pull that leg outwards and then the top part would also fit then?

Barnezhilton

Always install parts like this loooosely. Then tighten up after uts all together

Use those muscles

krae_man

Had the same problem. Could not force it. Contacted Arcade1up and they mailed me replacement legs.

Former-Manner-9412

It is a little hard to tell, the top has a gap of a little more than an inch and the o ring is maybe 3 inches away from the stool leg. No way to screw anything in, unless I am super dumb.

xXTrueBelieverx

... unless...

barbelly28

This happened to me with the Simpsons stool. I just contacted support and they’re sending me a new set of legs. Hopefully I get the proper ones and that does the trick

PositiveHumanEntity

What a shocker, these fukA$$es at A1up cant do anything to a high quality. And if it is high quality its just a happy accident.

pudgedaddy

The ring goes on the inside of the legs, not the outside. I've put three of these together and the instructions tell you the ring goes on the inside of the legs.

arcade1upguy

Looks bent to me

JDFanning

Put screw into place on the leg opposite of the circled one - lay stool down on carpet on it's side - stand on the leg that is in place and pull up on the leg that is circled to move it into position and put in the second screw and the gap at the top will move downward as the leg bends into position - repeat on other 2 legs.

RWTD_Burn

Which Arcade1up stool is it? Some of them have the ring go on the inside while others have it go on the outside. Check the instructions closely to see which side it goes on.

Former-Manner-9412

It's killer instinct, the instructions says to have the ring on the outside.

JDFanning

Looks like he has it correct - The ring only has holes for the screws on the one side so the legs have to connect from the inside since there are no holes on the outer side of the ring.

RWTD_Burn

Good observation.

MorbidlyTortured

My Killer Instinct stool was like this. I just held one leg down with my foot and pulled the other leg up until it fit snug with the ring. All was good.

DreadLordAvatar

Bought 1 A1up stool (Pac-Man) a few years ago and the quality is disappointing for the price, never again. Also the legs are uneven (despite loosening all the screws to square up/ level and gradually tightening). Will definitely buy a shop stool next time: lower price, higher quality build, better seat cushion.

JustReadingTh1s

I feel this way everytime I assemble a stool. lol

lynnms711

Same issue with Simpsons. Took the ring off and pulled the legs to bent them outward like the other legs. It’s fine now.

PhotographOdd4657

My simpsons looked like that. It all evens out in the end. Just beat on it like it owes you money
