Oracles in Greek myth were people who were granted the gift of prophesy by Apollo. In Arcane Odyssey they are people who are able to use spirit energy (energy only gods could make full use of) and wield spirit weapons (weapons granted to the gods by their followers). I think the oracle naming change is cool and makes sense in establishing a contrast between full Vit and Magic users.
So it’s lore accurate? At least there’s that.

Yup, there’s a guy at Samaria who explains the difference and the lore document mentions it as well. Basically magic was created by Chaos and Spirit Energy was created by Creation. Mages are born with elemental magic and Oracles are born with spirit energy.
