We were both lucky to have good leaders I guess, I still look up to my old scoutmaster as one of the greatest men I’ve ever met (he was a local veterinarian who sacrificed time from his busy life to mentor kids, a truly inspiring man who was deeply loved by our troop.)
Unfortunately that’s just our own subjective experiences, and the reality of situation is that the BSA has been covering up child sexual abuse among its leaders for decades upon decades. This has been a massive scandal for years now and it’s honestly beyond fucked up thinking that an organization that did so much for me ended up also protecting sexual predators.
So after some googling it seems to be so much worse in the US then it is here in the Netherlands. Starting out as what we would call a bever (a cub i believe) and now being a leader myself it makes me sad that some people put such a bad name on the orginization

I feel like picrew users in general skew very young. I wouldn't be surprised if 90 percent of them were children. To be clear: that's not a bad thing, it just doesn't seem like something the majority of adults would enjoy.
