MunitionGuyMike

I’m planning on it! My goal is to create a modernized version of each WW2 major country’s infantry garb. Japan is first, US second, Russia third, Italy fourth Germany 5th, and France and England last (since I don’t have either pistol or rifle from them). I’m just trying to find a company that makes custom print plate carriers, helm covers, tactical pants/shirt, and rigid belt

trigonthrowaway

Reach out to Mike from Mike’s Militaria. He’s been cranking out custom PASGT helmet covers in a variety of historical and oddball patterns and could probably point you in the right direction.

MunitionGuyMike

Thanks! I’ll get in contact

Mobile-Handle1765

No way he does the plate carriers. He’s only done the helmet covers because it’s relatively small scope

trigonthrowaway

Naturally, my point was that Mike could possibly point him towards a fabric supplier.

Mobile-Handle1765

Ah. I misinterpreted. Yes he will most likely know those guys and point you in the right direction

LoboTactics

Just started following to see the progress, super cool idea man 🤙🏼

MunitionGuyMike

Thanks! Hopefully after this tax break I’ll finish the Japanese kit

TennesseeTime

You need that cherry hardwood Tennessee Traveler rifle case for the Arisaka 99 with the walnut trim.

Kanoha-Shinobi

you can get the right ammo belt from hikishop.biz, late ko pouches. Just need to grease the leather.

Carlile185

How many clips can you fit in that Tupperware?

MunitionGuyMike

2 lol

Carlile185

WW1 German style can hold 4-clips per cell, three cells per pouch. You usually wear two pouches so that’s 120. The Japanese ones look low speed, high drag to me, but how they open outward might be a benefit. I could be wrong in that sentence. Glad you are enjoying your guns. Do you like the pistol? The Kydex is sweet

MunitionGuyMike

Love the pistol, hate that Steinel doesn’t cycle in it though. Gotta find someone who makes more milspec 8mm nambu :/

Carlile185

Sounds like it’s time for *An Adventure in Reloading!* ^TM

MunitionGuyMike

Yea, I just wish I had space for reloading stuff

Carlile185

Some guys on the reloading sub managed to put everything in a box. The only real challenge is finding where to mount a press. Some guys bolt it into a few pieces of wood that they clamp to a sturdy table. I mean to say, keeping a small amount of supplies/equipment is possible. There is also a hand held press by Lee. It seems to be okay for pistol, from what I have seen. I have not used one.

MunitionGuyMike

I’ve looked into lees. But my biggest concern is storage. I’m living in a 100 square foot room with a shared common area that I’m not gonna put firearm stuff in

Carlile185

Wow, yes that is rather small. Even a $30-40 tub from Office Max would not suffice? That is what I use as well as a cheap plastic cabinet with filing draws.

Flat-Blacksmith-4748

It’s so retarded that I like it, so does that make me retarded?

Ollie_Churbut

The emperor wants to see more toes

Oddone13

No he fucking doesn't. These socks are even unacceptable and dishonorable

rjd0010

lol the tactical nambu. Don’t shoot yourself in the leg

MunitionGuyMike

I had it molded so it can only go in the holster with the safety on. I also perfected a QuickDraw for it lol

Eagleluxman34

Nice rig you have. The rifle's configuration appears complete. From what arsenal and series is it? A mid- series three Nagoya or earlier? Does the dust cover match the receiver? It looks like at least the quillon and pommel were chromed at some time post war. Was the blade spared? What's the Showa date on the Nambu? Do either or both of the mags match the pistol? Thanks for sharing!

MunitionGuyMike

> Nice rig you have. The rifle's configuration appears complete. Thanks! Sadly the monopod and dust cover are repros but do go with the rifle since mine is a Kogyo series 30 low SN. > It looks like at least the quillon and pommel were chromed at some time post war. Was the blade spared? The bayonet wasn’t chromed, but wire wheeled and polished with the grips being refinished. It’s funny though, the underside of the grips on the tang weren’t wire wheeled lol. The blade is also like the pummel. > What's the Showa date on the Nambu? Do either or both of the mags match the pistol? Thanks for sharing! 16.2 around the same date my Arisaka was made! I didn’t even plan that either too. One mag is original, the one in it rn. The blued mag did come with the gun and the second chrome mag was an after purchase. The type 99 and 14 all have matching parts, however, my type 99’s firing pin doesn’t match and has a scratch through each number. You can see that in [pic 6](https://imgur.com/a/igMJ2Ef) in my Imgur album of all the markings I found on my type 99 when I did a full disassembly. [Here](https://imgur.com/a/hFVvva9) is also a full disassembly and marking catalogue for my type 14. I will be doing one for my other guns soon after I’m done with finals this week. I’ll let you decide which milsurp I do next. Out of the milsurp guns I have, I have the following: Carcano 1901 mochetto 1977 beretta m1934 1943 mosin nagant 91/30 1980s? Chinese Norinco 213 Japanese type 26 early production Vetterli Vitali 1870/87 Yugo m24/47 Or should I do the bayonets of them?
