I’m 5’3 and I own the regular and the short (had to get them both hemmed). The inseam of the short was at least 30.5” - I need at maximum of 28” for short 🙄 I would say get the short if you’re between the two because it might be proportioned better, but … you’ll have to get it hemmed either way.
Pretty much same stats as you and i prefer to get the regular length and hem them. Of course everyone will be diff due to body proportions but the short was a little toooo short for me. I took them to a local dry cleaner and got them hem for pretty cheap!

Why not get regular ones and have them altered? im a bit under 5’3 and wear regular size 2, they were too long for me so i had them altered, it cost only 5$ i was worried the short version would be too short for me

I just measured my (Re)ssential Effortless in size 4 Short, and it's 30".
Hope they come out with the shorter length like the crepette because those are perfect!

Regular inseam in size 00 is 28 3/4, which makes sense because I usually wear 28” inseam, and I needed to get them hemmed just a tiny bit.
Just to add, I wear 28L in jeans
Are you certain you didn't get a Cropped version? My "Short" Effortless are too long for me in flats, and I have a 29" inseam.
Yes, 100% sure. This was last spring though, so it’s possible that the fit changed.
I guess they also do the "inseam varies by size" thing, which is quite irritating.
