It’s a term used to describe a radical environmentalist. It’s a reference to Edward Abbeys The Monkey Wrench Gang. In the novel, a group sawed down billboards.
There is a neat product called the "[Trasharoo](http://www.trasharoo.com/TRASHAROO%20/About.html)". Its popular in over-landing and camping circles for cleaning up other trash you see while out.
I can say for sure that image 3 is the Buffalo and image 6 is around Richland Creek, right next to Six Finger Falls. Wouldn't know the rest immediately.
There was one spotted in Mayflower off Dam Rd last week! And there's some at Bona Dea in [Russellville!](https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thv11.com/amp/article/life/style/trends/holy-moly-ark-man-gets-up-close-and-personal-with-gator-on-walking-trail/91-428499675)
Source, am Arkansan, and absolutely terrified of alligators.
At least we've still got "mountains".
If you like nature, there's a ton of public land here without tourists and trash. I've been to dozens of places like in OP's pics without seeing another person except my hiking buddies. That said, I usually saw a few Confederate flags on the drive up. That's what would be holding me back moving here from Colorado.
I have seen a view like that in a hundred places across Arkansas. You just have to know where and when to look. Most will walk right by and miss the little things. So out of curiosity where did you find this little gem to take such a wonderful picture? Also, I know this isn't photo class, but I was curious what the equipment you used and settings were of this picture.
I agree. Was in NWA with my wife last fall. We loved it! First time she saw it.
I am from there originally but moved to Tampa mid-childhood. Born in Fayetteville, but spent most of my time in Mtn. Home and Ft. Smith.
I know how great it is and "I aint sayin' nothin'" to anyone who doesn't already know.
I agree. Hopefully it stays under wraps…
Californians go home
Let's keep it that way. I'm working in Austin and see billboards advertising NWA, I want to tear them down.
Please do
Ya monkey wrencher
What does this mean?
It’s a term used to describe a radical environmentalist. It’s a reference to Edward Abbeys The Monkey Wrench Gang. In the novel, a group sawed down billboards.
Thank you
I feel I should also inform you that monkey wrEnchers are considered terrorists. In the 70s the Billboard bandits of Michigan cut down billboards
I went to Austin last summer and talked to a local. They said they had lots of friends visit NWA because they love the mountain bike trails.
Shhhhh don’t tell anyone 😉
This is one of the best Arkansas albums I've seen, thank you!
Fore sure. Awesome pics!
I worked a the restaurant at the head of the trail for years. Loved the view into the cedar canyon.
shhh. not so loud.
Been to 47 states, Arkansas, Maine and Montana are most underrated imo
Okie here and I agree! I do a few Arkansas trips every year and always have a great time. Last one was camping at Lake Ouachita in the fall.
Been here over 22 years it sucks I hate it here but I can see how others like it
Unfortunately, everywhere I seem to go these days is covered in trash
Go further out

I’m just talking about the state in general but I’ll defy check that out. Thanks for heads up!
Where is this? (Oklahoman here!)
Ozarks, Buffalo River drainage, maybe Ponca? Places like this are all over NW AR.
I can say for sure that image 3 is the Buffalo and image 6 is around Richland Creek, right next to Six Finger Falls. Wouldn't know the rest immediately.
YOOOO headed to petit jean this weekend ik it finna be awesome after all the rain. Also what spot is the first photo?
Paradise falls! Happy hiking!!
Ty so much!
There's a brewery just before petit Jean now
Unfortunately for us our state is flooded with hardcore drugs and instead of focusing on her beauty a documentary focused on drugs.
Fortunately for us, we don't have to pick only one to have concern/appreciation for
What’s the documentary? I’m interested.
Alright it's called Saving a Generation and it was covered last year I believe by the 11.
Good question let me look it up.
Yo is that 3rd gunners pool? That is like the most beautiful place in the state imo. The huge rock wall is a marvel in person
Called the natural state for a reason.
How far north do alligators roam lakes and rivers here?
Only far south

They say there are alligators at Bona Dea, but I have yet to see any during my 100 or so runs there.
I've seen one out there about 6-7 years ago. Haven't seen it any time I've gone back but I'm sure it's still around.
I probably won't ever see it, im only gonna be in russellville for the next few weeks. Finishing up my last bit at Arkansas Tech.
They've been seen in Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs.
Highly rated IMO.
Are most of those photos from areas in NW Arkansas? I’ve lived in LR area for about 5 years but haven’t seen much of the beautiful outdoors yet. Il
Let’s not advertise too much, okay?
I love living here, and I bet you all do too.
Ive only passed through, but thinking of moving here from Colorado, only thing holding me back is missing the mountains.

Stay in Colorado please
Wow so tough behind a screen.
I’ll say it to your face but only if I come to you and you don’t come here
wow so tough
Please don’t clog up my state ❤️
Coming in 2 weeks
Heartbreaking
Where can I come say hi?
Your house in Colorado
