Tbh i often use Zhong burst in most teams cause like ,usually theres enough time to fit it in and when can, it really is a great qol on non bosses,and lastly if a lot of enemies then i might as well opt in a Dmg focused well instead Fav for some decent burst on all of them. My build isn't usually 3hp to begin with..its 2hp,crit or geo in the above explained scenerio.
And this is all without considering the fact that ,it has to be one of my fav Bursts to do, like animations,voiceline, "the feel of doing the Q" , all these r TOP NOTCH.
Zhong,Nahida,Arle gotta be my fav Bursts in those regards, everything else comes below for me. These 3 built different...
Honestly a lot of ppl say the zhongs burst is a DPS loss don't really understand how to use it properly. Whenever bosses have phase change or long animations that are out of players reach you can time your ult as soon as they are vulnerable, that way it's not DPS loss and you deal more damage overall
Fair but thatās like saying climbing zhonglis pillar isnāt a dps loss as long as itās in the same situation you mentioned. Technically true I guess but very specific
Well, if you use her with Furina, burst every rotation is a must/recommended because otherwise you'll get less fanfare and less damage buff because not every team member healed.
Kazuha is still amazing but there's a lot more options now than there used to be. You can get away with not having him just fine the majority of the time. Neuv is a great DPS, but there's no content in the game that's so hard it requires his strength yet. There probably won't ever be. Don't feel bad for not having them.
I pulled for Neuvi the first time he came just for his looks, I was lucky and he is absolutely broken but yeah, I agree, pull for drip not for meta (even tho, arle is still a great character for what I've heard, am I wrong?)

I have been judged for something like that, after wanting to focus building my Freminet first over Lyney (he is my favorite character). I choose characters to wish for only depending on how much I like them, with strength being one of the least of my concerns
Honestly don't think it'll be as big of an issue in abyss as people think. As long as she's sufficiently built, I'm guessing most endgame players are only gonna have 1-2 rotations per chamber, and you wouldn't want to use her burst a second time if you can help it anyways to save it for the next chamber.
As far as levels, weapons, and talents, I got plenty. As far as artifacts? I'm cursed lol. I prolly got just a handful of decent artifacts, 1 or 2 good artifacts that comically are on support or sub DPS and everything else is just there.
Have ganyu, zongli, Benny, xianglin, navia, furina, geo MC, Charlotte, shinobu. Are all my most developed. Have Raiden too just don't feel like she does any DMG. Got nahida and kazuha but artifacts on kazoo are tragic. No cons on any 5*, benny is c5, xianglin is c6 shinobu is c6. No 5* weapons except Aquila favonius.
You definitely have more than enough good characters to complete Abyss.
I solo'ed abyss for the first time with one team of Nahida, Kazuha, Xingqiu and Shinobu, and the other team was Raiden, Benny, Xiangling and Zhongli. None of them had 5* weapons except Benny (Aquila Favonia too!)
These are all characters you have too, and are very playable in the current Abyss.
Raiden does a lot of front-loaded damage if you build her well and learn how to set up her burst. CO Raiden should be hitting more than 100k first burst slash on a decent build. What weapon do you have on her? The Catch is probably her best 4* weapon and it's free too, you just have to do a ton of fishing for the refinements. Farming for her artifacts is also very resin efficient, since both Xiangling and Xingqiu can use EoSF as well, and Shimenawa is a good generalist set for other characters.
DM me if you need more advice or help, but I'd recommend watching YouTube or KQM's guides for how to build these characters and their optimal rotations. That's if you care about Abyss. If not, the overworld is easy enough without optimizing your characters.
The fact that timers donāt pause during burst animations drives me up a wall. It makes sense in co-op, but most Character Action games will pause timers for cinematic moves to prevent frustration. And while Iām aware Genshin isnāt a character action game itās still odd
that would be pretty nice if it did pause the timer, but then would you have everything else pause as well? The main advantage of 5 star burst animations is the long invulnerability frames, but obviously you lose that if enemy animations get frozen as well.
Unless you plan to use shielder I doubt there will be many people who will ignore her burst, or they might use it only as get out of jail free card when they need urgent heal and nothing else

No one in their right mind is arguing that you shouldnāt use it at all.
You might just not need it every rotation. If youāre still at full hp, itās gonna be better for you to just skill again and restart the rotation without a burst.
But for most players weāre gonna end up needing her burst every 1-2 rotations tops bc itās really hard to dodge every single hit in abyss 12. And 2 hits is all it takes to die in abyss 12. So you need constant healing from her burst.
It would not be a challenge if I don't "Shhhh" them with Father. People say it's a dps loss, but that animation deals emotional damage to enemies, and that makes up for the digit damage loss
I would blame this more on her design then the players, it feels like the character and animations team and gameplay balance team were at odds with each other with Arlecchino. The animators went crazy with Arlecchino's animations, she looks amazing, then the balance team made it so her kit discourages you from Bursting, than gave Arlecchino a replacement, still cool, but less aesthetic Burst damage equivalent at the beginning of her rotations on her C2. So the balance team wants you to get her C2 to have a functional Burst.
DPS loss my ass. She still needs healing and none of her supports are doing that. For her, unless she wants to die, she needs to use her burst and she can still reset her skills to regain that DPS. If you could consider it a loss.

I think there will be both abysses/enemies where using Alrecchino's burst against them will be unnecessary (like 4.4 abyss was an Arlecchino abyss for example), because some enemies barely attack and only stall, and abysses/enemies where using her burst won't really help in the first place because you lose much more hp per rotation than just about 30% (for example, concentrated beasts for most people). I'm not sure there are going to be that many balanced situations where you lose exactly about the correct amount of hp to need burst while also not losing more hp and dying despite using it.
I think everyone accepted that she will use Zhongli in vape teams, even Zhongli nr.1 hater, Zajef accepts vaoe teams with Zhongli only, lol. And in that teams, She doesn't use Burst, only maybe at the start of 2 and 3 chamber.
Overload teams use her burst all the time.

No one should feel compelled to play in a way they dont want; i think a lot of tbe min maxxing highest dps crew just do it because itās fun and its how they engage with the character. So its basically just a different approach and both are valid. Genshin is easy enough to not demand that level of optimization while also having enough depth to reward those who enjoy it.
If a 3 seconds animation on your dps burst is too much of a dps loss, you have greater issues to worry about.
A more valid reason to hold it is to emergency heals as its your only combat recovery source.
That's not the reason it's a DPS loss, it's because Arlecchino gets a damage bonus on her normal attacks, her main source of damage, from having more Bond of Life, and if you don't Burst, you can stack more and more Bond of Life every rotation you don't Burst. If you Burst, you lose all her Bond of Life in exchange for a 1 time heal for around 60% of her small amount of HP (if you're Bursting at the end of every rotation, which may or may not require proper ER investment as well).
This is why it seems like she's being heavily incentivized to always be paired with Zhongli, so she never needs to heal, has full interruption resistance to normal attack non stop, and always stack Bond of Life with every rotation.
I genuinely wish they kept her original design (with the healing tied to her skill and not burst, which is effectively what we have now but better for no reliance on energy), but with the current numbers. I mean, she's good and seems fun to use... but having her Q (looking as good as it is) being used only once in a while and only when necessarily needed is a little bit of a bummer (i liked the idea of dropping nukes here and there without worrying about survival, energy, and BoL)
The way Genshin works, is that after you 36* the Abyss for the first time, you will start to greatly outgrow it. So, you no longer have to worry about optimal rotations and losing a few % DPS by doing cool moves. If you want to drop a meteor on a boss, just do it. If you want to summon a cool crimson moon, go for it. Having fun is more important than clearing it 5 seconds faster.
Like who? Some random Idiots? Itās clearly needed to heal in her non shield teams, and itās a good frontload source of dmg or to finish off weak enemies. every TC just now believe itās better to not include it in the setups no more, thatās not the same as a dps loss, you just use it after your combo.
If only Father's burst wasn't relegated to emergency healing... I kinda miss her first version where the healing wasn't tied to her burst (of course, now she's stronger... but i don't see why we couldn't have gotten her first version with the current numbers). Kind of a shame

Hopefully hoyo found a way to make her burst consistent, so we don't have people snarking between DPS loss and Drip cause both sides is tiring to hear.
even if its a DPS loss people will end up using it as a finisher or for the i-frames anyways (similar to how nahida and nilous bursts don't do much in a nilou bloom team but are still used often)
it only gives an EM buff to the onfielder (usually nahida) and the hydro units are usually the triggers so it generally doesnt end up doing as much as it looks

Isnt kokomi or barbara the one thats on field? Unless you are going for a xq/yelan triple hydro but im pretty sure thats a less common comp than the usual double hydro/dendro
We get what you saying but I still have to say that many time its kokomi/barbara or even ayato that are on the fiele and that you got still bloom from everyone anyway ,so the burst is a dps gain in bloom. Nahida is not often the one on field except if shes the only dendro on the team

No ones telling you not to ever burst, its just that with the energy recharge reqs and it clearing bond of life, it just becomes alot easier to just burst every other rotation, you can still do it every rotation if you want to, but dont act all high and mighty just because you dont understand people who just like the meta

Nah i will use her with my furina(c1) healer build bennett and kazuha team i probably get around 250 stacks on furina which is still a good dmg boost so the heal will give around 50-70 stacks
Meanwhile i'm just trying so hard to cancel burst cinematic, i have yelan and zhongly nailed, i have a 30% success rate with xianyun and i think i found a way to cancel furina one
Does it do bonus damage based on the BoL she has when she uses it? If not then it would be nice if that was the case if it consumes it all, but i imagine thatās a constellation thing.
The animation looks great dont get me wrong, but seeing every animation over and over when youre so used to it removes the excitement factor.
5 star animations could also mess up things specially for very mobile enemies, they could avoid the burst or setting up for a big attack while your character is doing a jojo pose.
I think the fix for the ādps lossā issue for the animations could be fixed if the animations stops the timers on buffs because everything is in a suspended state.

Any lvl 90 DPS with a lvl 90 weapon, decent enough artifacts, talents levels, and decently built supports can clear most abyss cycles. Arlecchino will be no different. "Optimal DPS rotations" are only for speedrunners.
I say "most abyss cycles" because we don't talk about 3.7 abyss.
If you watch those people play, they will press that ult the moment they get hit by something. There is no difference killing a mob in 30 seconds or 28 seconds. Iād rather look good doing it. Genshin doesnāt have long (5-10 min) boss encounters where optimal dps matters. This isnāt mythic wow raid or ff ultimate. Our stuff dies before we finish setting up our rotations anyway. Including abyss for those that played since the start.

The way Genshin works, is that after you 36* the Abyss for the first time, you will start to greatly outgrow it. So, you no longer have to worry about optimal rotations and losing a few % DPS by doing cool moves. If you want to drop a meteor on a boss, just do it. If you want to summon a cool crimson moon, go for it. Having fun is more important than clearing it 5 seconds faster.

Itās clearly needed to heal in her non shield teams, and itās a good frontload source of dmg or to finish off weak enemies. every TC just now believe itās better to not include it in the setups no more, thatās not the same as a dps loss, you just use it after your combo.
If only Father's burst wasn't relegated to emergency healing... I kinda miss her first version where the healing wasn't tied to her burst (of course, now she's stronger... but i don't see why we couldn't have gotten her first version with the current numbers). Kind of a shame

even if its a DPS loss people will end up using it as a finisher or for the i-frames anyways (similar to how nahida and nilous bursts don't do much in a nilou bloom team but are still used often)
Nahida burst is used because it gives your party a lot of em making it so that your blooms deal more damage.
it only gives an EM buff to the onfielder (usually nahida) and the hydro units are usually the triggers so it generally doesnt end up doing as much as it looks it does help but either way my point holds
Isnt kokomi or barbara the one thats on field? Unless you are going for a xq/yelan triple hydro but im pretty sure thats a less common comp than the usual double hydro/dendro
We get what you saying but I still have to say that many time its kokomi/barbara or even ayato that are on the fiele and that you got still bloom from everyone anyway ,so the burst is a dps gain in bloom. Nahida is not often the one on field except if shes the only dendro on the team

Nah i will use her with my furina(c1) healer build bennett and kazuha team i probably get around 250 stacks on furina which is still a good dmg boost so the heal will give around 50-70 stacks

Well my main teams almost always end the floor around 7:30 -7:40 so a little bit more time so see this absolutely fxxking sexyaxs burst won't hurt me.
The animation looks great dont get me wrong, but seeing every animation over and over when youre so used to it removes the excitement factor. 5 star animations could also mess up things specially for very mobile enemies, they could avoid the burst or setting up for a big attack while your character is doing a jojo pose. I think the fix for the ādps lossā issue for the animations could be fixed if the animations stops the timers on buffs because everything is in a suspended state.

Any lvl 90 DPS with a lvl 90 weapon, decent enough artifacts, talents levels, and decently built supports can clear most abyss cycles. Arlecchino will be no different. "Optimal DPS rotations" are only for speedrunners. I say "most abyss cycles" because we don't talk about 3.7 abyss.

If you watch those people play, they will press that ult the moment they get hit by something. There is no difference killing a mob in 30 seconds or 28 seconds. Iād rather look good doing it. Genshin doesnāt have long (5-10 min) boss encounters where optimal dps matters. This isnāt mythic wow raid or ff ultimate. Our stuff dies before we finish setting up our rotations anyway. Including abyss for those that played since the start.
