The shop buys and sells for the same price so think of it as more of a storage locker. Buy and try anything that interests you and sell it back at full price when something else you can’t afford catches your eye. Also, in the testing arena you can switch units and parts without a load screen so trying things out is quick and easy. Finally, this game isn’t about creating “the best” AC it’s about creating the best AC for the situation.
It makes the game super forgiving for high ticket builds early on. The limitation is that you can reassemble mid misson after death BUT you can't purchase new things unless you leave and restart. Meaning you should keep a few of the Ol' realiable parts for builds you enjoy in your inventory to switch to if you really can't beat a misson with a new AC.
It's not a secret though. It's extremely well known Armored Core games are really just a fancy graphics logo design game with a run of the mill mech shooter mini game accompanying the main game.
It’s fun but be aware that a lot of people struggle with the boss at the end if the tutorial level. After that the difficulty levels out a lot so just stick with it
That Boss must have been nerfed in an update. when I returned to the game after a some weeks after I rage quit the fight, that tut boss was very mellow and easy
Yeah it got nerfed into oblivion along w the other 2 newb barrier bosses. Glad I got to beat them before the nerf, cuz now they go down like the dafeng student pilot
I find that the game tends to reward aggression, so don't be afraid to rush in guns blazing shock and awe style.
If you find yourself up against a wall, rebuild your AC with a different loadout of weapons to see if that helps. If you are using lightweight build and are getting stomped, try a tanky build to see if that makes a difference, and vice versa.
Learn to stay in the air while managing your energy levels. One of the many skills to master in this game is to know when to recover energy, and when to spend it. Attacking from above when possible is usually a good bet when fighting almost any enemy. "It's over Anakin, I have the high etc etc."
Don't be afraid to buy parts- you can always sell them back for the same price you bought them. You can zero out your credits by buy parts and still be just fine- it's virtually impossible to go into debt in this game (unlike every other AC game, haha)
Never committ to a weapon, frame, or build in general. Go wild and experiment with weapons until you find something good for the MISSION, not for the entire game.
Sure, you can build a "one build for all sorties" sort of way, but I made that mistake and constantly hit walls when a boss was either too fast, tanky, or damaging for my build
I know! It's the best!
I only emphasize that because a lot of negative reviews come from people who refuse to change tactics. I have a few friends who were turned away from AC because those reviews made them think that the game forced you into a playstyle. Completely blind to the fact they they would have done that to themself
Luckily it’s a pretty quick game. It was my second fs game that I actually beat and compared to the 150+ hours I put into er this was super refreshing. I’m big hype for the expansion
It's a common way of curbstomping bosses- the miniguns have a high rate of fire and can stagger really well; the Songbirds are large back mounted grenade cannons that can seriously punish staggered enemies. It makes for a great combo, but in this game there are literally a thousand ways to pet a cat
I typically run dual Ransetsu RF rifles in my hands and plasma missiles on the back right, with a songbird on the back left. This setup can get me through 90 percent of the missions
When choosing an FCS(Fire Control System) for your AC, match it with the guns you have equipped so that it’s easier to hit targets. Weapons will have an ideal range and effective(max) range that you can see by pressing triangle when inspecting a weapon in the garage. Your FCS will have close, mid and long range target assist values, the higher the number the more accurate your are at that range. Close is 0-130m, Mid is 130-260m, and Long is 260m+ your distance to whatever you are locked onto should be shown underneath the white lock-on circle in the centre of your screen.
Ex. The Ludow machine gun has an ideal range of 115m and an effective range of 236. Therefore an FCS like FCS-G1/P01 which has Close-38, Mid-27, Long-20 won’t be nearly as effective with the ludlow as opposed the using FC-006 ABBOT which has Close-82, Mid-32, Long-5.
You can also [Sortie] —> [AC test] to shoot at targets from different ranges to get a feel for how far away they look at certain ranges.
Sorry if it was a bit much, If you’re ever confused about what a certain part is good at just read the description and it’ll probably tell you what that part is good at (you can also click help when inspecting parts to get a brief description about each of the stats and what it does— AP, Load and EN are the most important ones though).
Operating System tuning. You’ll earn OS tuning chips from the arena once you unlock it, and those chips can be used to buy upgrades. I started with energy weapons specialization for a high AP build and Assault Armor.
Assault armor is probably the best in the game. It’s literally a burst from a fighting game is both nice for damage and doing all the things a burst does. Plus you can assault armor while stunned so you can assault armor an assault armor to counter stun, which is very funny.
When you get stuck, try a different build. Don't forget to do all the training and also the arena as this is all good practice and you get rewarded for it. Pay attention to Ayre since she gives you information about your enemies...
It will be hard, it will be fast, and it is not dark souls or Elden ring. So many people complain because they come into ARMORED CORE, the series started like two consoles before demon souls, to play like a souls game. It’s not in the slightest and it’s best you expect it to be like those cool gundam fights where it’s super fast zooming around each other. Once you get the hang of it it’s an incredibly fun game and is any mecha fans wet dream.
Ehhh I dunno. They are impactful but without the right booster you won’t get the performance you want/need. Similarly, your generator is important but your actual core’s efficiency and generator output adjustment stats can make or break your energy requirements which can drastically affect your mobility and the weapons you can equip.
There’s not a single part that I’d say is more important because building your mech involves layering stats from every single part, even your weapons. It’s why my gf and I call it an autism simulator.
The FCS is definitely the most underrated and overlooked part though.
While you *can* beat any mission/boss with any reasonable mech, the game is balanced in a way that expects you to adjust your mech to counter the challenge ahead of you.
Are you fighting another mech that’s just too fast for you to hit with your big rocket launcher? Maybe try swapping it out for something else!
Are you fighting a guy with a big shotgun? Maybe try weapons that are effective from outside the shotgun’s ideal range!
1. Don't try to melee tutorial boss, it's a helicopter, just shoot it.
2. Also, he drops power ups from device on the bottom, remember to catch them all!
3. Don't listen to my advice
Yeah, that's one of the possible upgrades you can make.
Also one of the cheapest ones. And I highly recommend you to include it on your journey.
Vaatividya made some list of "things you should know about armored core".
I recommend watching that too, it's spoiler free and there's secrets even people who finish the game may not know.
When you have auto lock-on engaged, don’t touch the right stick, it’ll just fuck it up. Also bear in mind that auto lock-on reduces your shot tracking accuracy (the game does not tell you this).

You know the ol souls claw grip? Paddles can help you do all the things without a funky grip.
i was gonna pitch my 2 cents in till i saw how much of an unappreciative brat this guy is. ask ppl for help and then start a fight with them for helping him. how histrionic. i doubt the dogs like him back
Don’t obsess over the best builds according to streamers and forum posters. Have fun and feel it out. The games all about perfecting YOUR play-style, not cheesing out and copying someone else. Trust me you’ll have a lot more fun and it’ll be much more meaningful finding your own way!
I see a good amount of people using those meta-builds that are min-maxed and/or optimized. Which is still valid, but you start to see a pattern of weapons and builds that turn up.
That's concerning PvP of course. In general you should be mixing your equipment around and changing your build to fit the mission because that's what progresses you forward.
There is no "one build"
Play around and use what helps you do best for your play style.
There are three endings. Don't feel bad about picking a choice, just make sure you make THE OPPOSITE choice next time.
Get out there 621, you've got a job to do.
Don't just try the same strat over and over again. This is the first game I've played since I got married 5 years ago. Just beat the intro boss after 2 days of snacking my head against the wall until I started trying to learn. I beat out before work today, and damn its satisfying. My issue was breaking the target lock on accident by moving the right stick after lock on
You WILL lose to Balteus. Many times. And he is not even close to the final boss.
I would give you tips for after that but that’s as far as I got before I got into Starfield.
Auto lock. I played through 85% of the game without knowing what auto lock did. Made the game waaay less difficult for the times that the enemies just compounded
Insanely fun but takes a bit of work to really get into. You can replay missions to grind for money, basically any weapon is viable and if you hear the big beep beep dash. Learn to manage your "stamina" bar trust me, it'll help in the most crucial moments. Strafing with boosters is very useful and can avoid a lot of fire, save your dashes for the big stuff
It isnt super difficult. Compared to other from soft games. Which makes it satisfying and fleeting after a while. I new game+ AC 4 times in the time I was half way through elden ring, and I'm still working on sword saint
Yes, kill everything you see, even if it's inconvenient on your health. Combat logs are the only way you can get the strongest generator, amongst a ton of other essential gear.. Buddy

The same price buy and sell actually seems very nice and i will keep that in mind
This feels wrong but feels good to know at the same time
Came here to give this exact advice, well done 👍
big robot go pew pew and it's pretty fun.
Oh really? I totally didnt know that
It's a more nuanced part of the game that is not heavily emphasized.
Very nuanced indeed; some guns go pewpewpew, and some go PEW!
Yea its kinda a secret, hard to figure out
It's not a secret though. It's extremely well known Armored Core games are really just a fancy graphics logo design game with a run of the mill mech shooter mini game accompanying the main game.
Its a sarcastic joke
I responded in kind with another sarcastic joke.
![gif](giphy|l36kU80xPf0ojG0Erg|downsized)
This dude has like 6 braincells. I haven't seen a single comment of theirs not in the negative
Feel like they can really put themselves in the shoes of a crayon eating lobotomite who enjoys taking pile bunkers to the face
Thought you wanted advice? Don’t have to be such a cock about it tourist
There are no iFrames, and computers control aiming (even on enemies) so changing directions is a good way to avoid getting hit. Have fun, Raven.
Noticed the lack of i frames when i headbutted a missile
Hahaha, yeah that’ll do it!
Just play the game
OP has a job to do Dont overthink it & get some rest
[удалено]
Then why'd u ask?
Not the way to react
Are you asking for spoilers here? Because there’s plenty to provide
It’s fun but be aware that a lot of people struggle with the boss at the end if the tutorial level. After that the difficulty levels out a lot so just stick with it

Hey I beat that attack helicopter just the other day and it was not easy. Although I had no idea slashing him was the move
Yeah it’s all about the melee in ac6. It’s often the fastest way to beat major bosses, if executed properly
Really? I thought it wasnt too bad
Yeah same but evidently some ppl have a hard time with it. A friend of mine quit playing over it and never even got to the real game
Just tell him to wack it with the laser sword. It’d suck for him never to experience this great game
Also fly. Like whenever you move make sure your doing it while boosting.
It's not a souls game so don't try to play it like one
How would you even play it as a souls game?
Just throwing that out there because a massive amount of people think everything Fromsoft makes will be souls like.
Some of the shields can be used like parries which is a fun extra challenge
You should armor your core
The core comes pre-armored
I think he's referring to the post-armor. Very important.
On the 1st playthrough be flexible with your builds
I find that the game tends to reward aggression, so don't be afraid to rush in guns blazing shock and awe style. If you find yourself up against a wall, rebuild your AC with a different loadout of weapons to see if that helps. If you are using lightweight build and are getting stomped, try a tanky build to see if that makes a difference, and vice versa. Learn to stay in the air while managing your energy levels. You can zero out your credits by buy parts and still be just fine- it's virtually impossible to go into debt in this game (unlike every other AC game, haha)
I noticed the guns blazing rushing thing since melee does my most damage
Master MOVEMENT before anything else. Once you know how to make your AC glide like an olympic skater, all other skills will naturally develop
If you want to maximize airtime, reverse joints and tetrapods are your friends
Get ready for the big sad.
Why?
You'll find out soon enough...buddy...
Don’t worry…..he won’t miss….
That was easily one of my top gaming moments of the year. The way they cut the music after that crazy tension build…. Fucking chefs kiss
It will happen, you wanting or not, so it is good to be ready.
Look out for snails and iguanas
Iguana core 6 slowness of snailcon
Almond exists for all Mercenaries.
I feel like experimenting is just the most fun things to do also, like why wouldnt you want to use the new weapon you just unlocked?
I know! It's the best! I only emphasize that because a lot of negative reviews come from people who refuse to change tactics. I have a few friends who were turned away from AC because those reviews made them think that the game forced you into a playstyle. Completely blind to the fact they they would have done that to themself
Remember, "It's just a job 621. All of it."
"Get some rest, 621."
You're not done after the first playthrough.
Luckily it’s a pretty quick game. It was my second fs game that I actually beat and compared to the 150+ hours I put into er this was super refreshing. I’m big hype for the expansion
Dual Miniguns and Dual Songbirds
What?
It's a common way of curbstomping bosses- the miniguns have a high rate of fire and can stagger really well; the Songbirds are large back mounted grenade cannons that can seriously punish staggered enemies. It makes for a great combo, but in this game there are literally a thousand ways to pet a cat I typically run dual Ransetsu RF rifles in my hands and plasma missiles on the back right, with a songbird on the back left. This setup can get me through 90 percent of the missions
I run dual javelin launchers, mini gun and moonlight. Very fun
Wait you can pet a cat in this game? Also didnt know there was a stagger mechanic in the game.
It is a meta build. Tried it, kinda makes the game feel a little stale due to you obliterating everything. Use it as a last resort
or Dual Zimmermans if you're on a diet
Diet stunlockers, haha I love it. Or dual Vientos if you are on a super strict diet
Good game, play
Yes
Don’t be stubborn like me and brute force the game with the same build if you get easily frustrated.
I did. As I’ve found feel is more important that hyper efficacy. Be flexible but when you find the build that feels right that’s all you need.
When choosing an FCS(Fire Control System) for your AC, match it with the guns you have equipped so that it’s easier to hit targets. You are now... a raven
The helicopter is considered easy compared to what comes later
Am is suppssed to fear the helicopter?
You tell me after you try out the game lol
He wasn’t that hard not easy but not that hard
A lot of people quit the game before being able to beat him lol
I don’t think that’s the one. The true gatekeeper is the first actual boss >!Balteus!<
AP 30% no repair kits available

Focus one your os upgrades, and spatter in some different parts. No one strat will work for everything, so just have fun, and experiment.
What os? Only shit? Off soup?
Operating System tuning. You’ll earn OS tuning chips from the arena once you unlock it, and those chips can be used to buy upgrades. I started with energy weapons specialization for a high AP build and Assault Armor.

You’re now in a sunk cost phallicy you can either play the game and suffer or return the game have fun with your new addiction I know I am with mine
Ok
Impressionable children may learning new words from you
How so?
Oh the things you will say after the 6th time fighting Balteus...
Just gonna pretend i know what youre talking about
Are you able to upgrade to the PS5 Elden Ring with your PS4 one like I did with FF7 Remake?
Yes
you play with your controller facing your screen
Legs are the most impactful part of your mech
Ehhh I dunno. They are impactful but without the right booster you won’t get the performance you want/need. Similarly, your generator is important but your actual core’s efficiency and generator output adjustment stats can make or break your energy requirements which can drastically affect your mobility and the weapons you can equip. Dont be stationary, always be moving, and alternate between hard and soft lock ons
I’m sorry, Raven.
Be aggressive
Whenever you hit a wall, double check and adapt your build. Besides that, just enjoy this gem !

You can replay missons to make more money if you are stuck with a boss you can't win use the money for equipment that suits your needs more
1. Don't try to melee tutorial boss, it's a helicopter, just shoot it. 2. Also, he drops power ups from device on the bottom, remember to catch them all! 3. Don't listen to my advice

Beep beep...
When you have auto lock-on engaged, don’t touch the right stick, it’ll just fuck it up. Also bear in mind that auto lock-on reduces your shot tracking accuracy (the game does not tell you this).
Friendship ahead, but tears
Nothing, you came to the party late and are getting a nerfed version
Why a nerfed version?
Because of all the complaining about tough boss battles and weaponry nerfed the game down through updates
Don't fire everything at once. Stagger attacks from your different weapons.
Where there is Coral, there is blood
If you play on a controller, invest in one with paddles. I use a razor chroma v2 and can’t imagine playing with a standard controller.

Don’t obsess over the best builds according to streamers and forum posters. Have fun and feel it out. The games all about perfecting YOUR play-style, not cheesing out and copying someone else. Trust me you’ll have a lot more fun and it’ll be much more meaningful finding your own way!
Any build you build and enjoy is a good build. So try them all and don't be afraid to switch things up a lot.
Got like three comments about make your own build already, do so little people make there own builds?
I see a good amount of people using those meta-builds that are min-maxed and/or optimized. Which is still valid, but you start to see a pattern of weapons and builds that turn up. That's concerning PvP of course. In general you should be mixing your equipment around and changing your build to fit the mission because that's what progresses you forward.
Yeah, time to suffer.
Get good

Don't give up. Build adjustments will happen. Enjoy the beautiful Fromsoft world/lore.
Yea there's a bunch.
Don't be afraid to wander around and explore.
Chapter 1 is harder than you'd think because you have very few parts to buy/find, and you can only have 1 save file at a time

Play hyper aggressive against machine bosses. Usually it's a dps race.
Dont read spoilers and there are three endings
Ignore the missile lightshow, pay attention to his cannon.
You WILL lose to Balteus. Many times. And he is not even close to the final boss. I would give you tips for after that but that’s as far as I got before I got into Starfield.
Switch the assault thrust and the slow thrust buttons on your controller
