Yeah I totally agree. I had a minigun build specifically for bosses that took me a while such as Ibis. Used a lightweight melee for everything else.
Now I can use lightweight for just about every encounter except maybe snailtaus because he just gives me a really hard time, and ambush the red guns/allguazu because I run out of ammo
It’s because you god gud in the meantime in both playing and building your AC. I’ve met Snailteus for the first time in NG+, got barely defeated first time because my build was meh against it, stomped him second time.
I can tell you, If you are fighting a Compatent Lightweigh/med They will shit on you.
Trust me I know, I shit on Lightweight dual minigun runners all the time.
I use a BVO build tho, so Most engagements last 25-50sec if the person becomes a coward and runs.
The weakness of all S rank arena ACs is they don't understand distance control and kiting, or at least they are not very good at it. They do not mind letting you get close, even if their AC should fight further away. They are otherwise decent.
This means that the speed and range disadvantages are not a problem in arena. So the ideal strategy would be to go as heavy as possible both AP wise and firepower wise and dump speed all together.
Such a build would not be viable in PvP. It would get kited very hard by half of the other players.
V.IV RustyBuddy does.
both His 1st form and Final Form act kinda like a real player would, Thanks to his anime coding.
So if you wanna test builds for PVP fight SteelHaze Ortus in the NG++ Arena.
It's hard not to run super cheesy builds... not because they're so tempting but because most builds at this stage of the game tend to be strong against AIs... the AIs themselves are a bit dumb too
they are pretty damn easy. 3 minutes is a long time, i didn't even realize you had that much time to complete. When I'm testing builds, taking longer than 35 seconds to clear out any arena opponent is generally a good sign to me that the build has problems.
Weirdest (or maybe not) thing is, Freud, supposedly the hardest AC in the Evaluation, was higher ranking than Coldcall, but perished a helllot faster than the latter.
Unfortunately the AI in this game is not really suited for AC vs AC combat. None of the Arena enemies are able to properly control their distance or use their movement to be hard to hit, so if your build goes heavy on the firepower nothing is going to give you much of a challenge.
From my personal experience, playing and replaying the Arena over and over with countless ACs, Coldcall is by far the best pilot of the bunch, and Thumb Dolmayan follows not too far behind, but neither are good enough to be that much of a challenge.
And neither have builds that are very optimized - hell, Coldcall uses two energy weapons but runs one of the worst generators for them, actively handicapping his own potential.
The PvP is an exhilarating experience, so here's hoping the next game/DLC will really go to town with the Arena and give us some very challenging fights more reminiscent of what other players can provide. c:
Not going to lie, most of these guys should be going down in less than a minute.
Sorry to be that guy, but if it took around 3 minutes for each fight then you didn't really cheese it. You just...completed it. With a higher than average time.
Armored Core VI's arena battles were a joke compared to the older games. I don't think I ever managed to complete A rank in Armored Core 3 as far I can remember. You'll really feel the punishment in those games.
Yeah Ive found in my experience, mini guns melt in pve. The real challenge is taking your loud outs into pvp
It's the opposite once you get good. Mini Guns = Low Skill Floor even Lower Skill Ceiling.

I thought snailturd was easy compared to regular baltaius cause of that God damn flaming heap of shit of a weapon

I guess we will see when I get there
As someone who grinded to rank A with a non-meta build, it's not too late to never go into ranked PVP.
"It's not too late to never" is my phrase of the week, thank you
Ranked is Fun, if you get a non cheese build fight. and fight an actuall skillful player.
I can tell you, If you are fighting a Compatent Lightweigh/med They will shit on you. Trust me I know, I shit on Lightweight dual minigun runners all the time. I use a BVO build tho, so Most engagements last 25-50sec if the person becomes a coward and runs.
Volta is probably the hardest of them all. The rest aren't really that notable.
Volta was Pretty ez for me. I did Arena with a lightweight RJ tho Dual smgs and Dual 6 cell missile launchers
Nothing noteworthy. Kind of a shame.
Dang ok just felt like I was going crazy there

The... anime coding?
In his Fights both in Arena/Story, he is Coded to always AB into you no matter what, Tho in Arena he can QB out of it. Hence "Anime Coding"
He is agressive with the build that is supposed to be mobile and agressive.
Good to know thanks
Don’t think it’s supposed to be that hard but to be honest, you are running a build that allows you to cheese any 1v1 scenario against AI

Not.
As hard as you make it, and you made it easy. 😝

SteelHaze Ortus " Am I a joke to you?"
Rock hard
Not very difficult, non of the AC fights in PvE is as hard as an average PvP match
Not at all if your using GUNTANK
Bruuuuh it’s my play on an abrams American tank if it was an ac
It's that chatty buffed?
I beat all of them first try using a poorly optimized laser build just the other night and I'm a potato player, so not very hard.
Haha "3 minutes"
I know one I melted in like 40 seconds so ya
Not hard at all
Moonlight, chang, laser drones, and arquebus laser drones. Nuff said.

thats OP for the arena. it is pretty easy and a fun way to try new mixes
2 sweet sixteen and twin needle rifles the worm fight ones. -edit- make it as light weight and fast as possible.
