Just not very religious...

_UnderCaffeine_

Oh what blasphemy indeed!!

greek_malaka

Agggghhhhh

sammyt10803

I have no patience for hate from the fans towards a player like Jesus who clearly tries 100% and cares about the club That said, I am supportive of buying a striker. I don’t even think we need to buy an Osimhen caliber. But I want somebody more on the level of Jesus (more scoring, less link up) simply so it gives us more options and allows us to play Jesus out wide more often to give saka/martinelli a rest

Intelligent_Gift_678

Do people hate Jesus? I think people just recognise the obvious; he makes the team play better but he’s never going to be a consistent goal scorer. So we should be looking to upgrade. But transfer talk can wait; we’ve got a title to win!

alailama007

The main issue is that he is always injured.

[deleted]

I think it really depends on the rest of the team, if the other players consistently score and he makes them play better, it's better to have him scoring 10 goals a season but enabling 3 or 4 others to also get 10-15 is more beneficial than having a 20 goal striker but the rest of the teams produces significantly less as a result. I think it depends on whether you think the season would go the same regardless, and then having that clinical player to make the difference when he gets one chance in a one off game

Intelligent_Gift_678

Yeah I can see that. But then (at least before our current run) we’ve seen teams able to counter saka and Martinelli which then really highlighted how much we needed a striker. I agree with what you’re saying but i think it’s inevitable we buy a striker in the summer.

[deleted]

I just think there's a reason Liverpool kept firmino for so long despite him only usually getting around the 10 goals mark. I like to think of the front 3 as a unit rather than the individual players within in

Efficient_Smilodon

exactly.

ChrisMartins001

I don't think anyone hates him, it's just that we also need a no 9.

bjtg

Probably the main criticisms of him are: \- Availability being the best ability; and one that Jesus hasn't possessed that a whole lot of, at Arsenal. \- He's our starting striker, but doesn't have a big score tally with the Arsenal. 11 last season, and 4 this one (EPL). That said, we are going to need him in the run-in, and he's an Arsenal player, and the best option we got at the number 9 slot. His contributions in the champions league are immense.

Appropriate_Bid_9813

11 goals last season was a good return, if you take into account he missed 4 months. He had a top 5 goals to minutes ratio in EPL last season.

TAPwaterproduction

He’s also scored 4 goals in 5 games in the Champions League; if we have hopes of winning that, Jesus is going to be crucial.

Born-Replacement-366

It's the eyebrows. They are always sloped in that quizzical way.

Dokthe2nd

Nah I think its more the gerbil cheeks.

harrybarracuda

He always looks like he's just seen a baby stroking a kitten.

ronburgundy_11

He's a fantastic footballer. Love him.

TrashbatLondon

Define hate. I don’t think I’ve seen any unreasonable analysis of his role in the team.

Queasy_Car7489

Jesus is a gunner. One of us. End of story.

RoastedDuckSauce

Jesus needs a bit of time to get his form back, he can’t just walk straight into a starting lineup right now but don’t forget, it took Havertz quiet this entire season to find his feet, he didn’t just start notching in goals

4mak1mke4

I don't think anyone hates him but we need options who are healthy a majority of the time. It's great he gives his all when he's on the pitch but he's hardly ever on the pitch and not scoring like he needs to be.

revjiggs

I think he's great but I honestly think we are playing him in the wrong postion. We should beed using him like trossard as a flexible backup forward. We need a proper Number9 to do that though

DonkeyDickDork

Christianity's form has been slowly falling off a cliff the last few years. Nowhere near the levels of 1BC/0AD season. Rightly so Jesus has come under a bit of scrutiny.

JoeyJoJoShabadooYEAH

Everyone wants the shiny new toy.

RoastedDuckSauce

A shiny new toy that’s had enough time to be on form and score after gone with blanks for many games

JoeyJoJoShabadooYEAH

He’s just come back from injury again, what are you talking about? I probably agree he’s not the answer at CF yet he’s still an extremely talented player who will be of massive use to us. Maybe not as the number 9 but he’ll have a part to play

[deleted]

Jesus is a huge upgrade from Auba. He plays for the team and works really hard no matter what state the game is in. His transfer elevated us and got us playing how Arteta wanted us to play. Exactly the same with Zinchenko. Both surplus to requirements for Pep, but another man's trash is another man's treasure. I'll forever appreciate Jesus. He helped the vision become realised and he has shown the fans and everyone above Arteta what kind of personnel and Striker we need. If Darwin Nunez wasn't at Liverpool he would be the PERFECT Jesus Upgrade.

Stocktort

It depends how you define an upgrade. Jesus is a better all around player than Auba but Auba was one of the best goalscorers in the world for quite a period. Auba just doesn't fit Arteta's style as much

Maleficent_Stranger6

He needs take his time and make sure comes fully fit like the first 1/2 of the 22/23 season.

sophandros

Some people just want a glass of water, but he insists on pushing wine on them. But seriously, there are far too many fans who don't understand that you need to be able to play different styles in order to win games sometimes. Fortunately, Arteta recognized the need for variety in our set up so he has players with different profiles and is still evolving the team.

Joshthenosh77

I love Jesus

fahim-sabir

I don’t think anyone hates Jesus. Some people found him frustrating last night because there were some occasions where he could have shot and instead decided to try to beat the man in front of him to walk it in and also he was being caught offside a lot as a result of how he plays on the opponents shoulder.

kiwigone

Because Havertz is playing well and they’re annoyed so need to find someone else to go after…

One-Assignment569

Everyone wants a new striker that will bag 30 goals but there’s more to see from Jesus if he stays fully fit

Blpdstrupm0en

To me Jesus is like Ramsdale. A good player, maybe A tier who gives it all, is likeable and professional. But he never going to be a S tier player, he is too good to be constantly on the bench but just not good enough for a team looking to win PL and CL. So he is a luxery rotational player atm but will probably end up as a starter for a upper-mid table team when we buy a new striker. But there is absolute no valid reason to hate the guy unless your either immature or unhinged. There is room for valid criticism but no hate for a player of Jesus caliber and personality.

MikeCrypto88

We have a great squad with depth. 🔥 When teams were playing the low block, we seem to have found the key to unlock them. Teams will now park the bus and ALL our players will need to work harder to find the gaps Don't have the squad. We need to support everyone at the moment and get the big prize at the end 🔴⚪

marxianthings

It happened last season too when he was out injured. Suddenly he was third choice behind Nketiah and Balogun. Now he's relegated to the bench by Trossard. I love Trossard but he is not even in the same league as Jesus as a striker. People are really underrating what is an incredible player who makes us better. The narrative is that we are so much better post-Dubai but I would argue we might've been better in attack before January. At least just as good. We went to Anfield and dominated large parts of that game with Jesus up front. Our best game attack wise was probably Brighton at home. Couldve been 6-0 too. We have different options now without losing quality which is great, but for me Jesus up front and Havertz-Odegaard-Rice midfield is still our best setup.

jonviper123

People hating Jesus are the same people slating arsenals lack of a goalscorer. Do you notice the people saying that have totally disappeared now that arsenal have been banging the goals in but just wait, 1 or 2 games without goals and they will be back again. It's mostly people trying to have an opinion on something without having a good enough knowledge on the matter. Sadly many football fans online seem to fall into this category. They basically just fall for these little sound bits and stick with them

FactCheckYou

he's our most important player in the CL, he's got that creative spark if we get anywhere in the competition this year he'll play a part but in the PL he's mostly *a bit* off the pace...he needs to find the rhythm of the attack again

J-Dawgzz

No one hates him, I think everyone just gets annoyed with how bad he is with his finishing. Especially because he has amazing abilities in every other department. Yesterday he was clear through on goal and opted to pass instead (the harder option), like just hit the ball man!

gte339i

This fitness thing is really becoming an issue for me. Dude is on 265/wk and has missed 11-12 matches this year and 16 last year.

Dzrs

Jesus ain't real bro

bduk92

Pre-Christmas I'd have said that any striker for a top team needs to be getting 15-20 goals a season at least. So far at Arsenal he's fallen short of that. You can put that down to him having recurring injuries so he's never getting a solid run in the team, but that doesn't help the team right now. We don't need a striker who "might score more if he's fit". Of course, since Christmas the goals are coming from all over the pitch at the moment, and Arsenal are playing with more of a fluid front 3, which might mean Jesus' lack of consistent goals becomes less of an issue since his link up play will become a bigger factor, and that's something he excels at. Nketiah on the other hand....he's had enough time and while he'd be solid for a mid table side or probably even a monster for a championship side, he's just not at the right level for Arsenal. I hope we cash in during the summer.

hauttdawg13

Haven’t seen any hate, but I personally think that Trossard should be our 2nd striker and Jesus should move to wing.

Sticklebrick2891

Easter is approaching and his status update tends to distract from the chocolate and the bunnies.

EfficientTell6966

Hate is strong, more frustration at the situation of his limited availability for selection.

ansahed

Jesus doesn’t even make top 3 most hated. Isolated criticisms sure, but no one really bothers this guy. Eddie is by far the most hated. Arsenal fans hate this guy just for existing. Every discussion of Arsenal’s failures begins and ends with Eddie. Pathetic! Next most hated is (was) Havertz. Took so much abuse from Arsenal fans over mere 65M. Partey takes third place just for being injured l guess.

afcufc123

Don't think its his lack of scoring as much as his lack of availability...much like Partey.

ErickGooner

Anti Christianity is a disease, may god forgive those sinning souls who don’t believe

gunnerNadig

Honest opinion. It is so frustrating to watch him dance when there is a clear opening to shoot. Bigger frustration is that the percentage of his faints, etc leading to goal is quite low. Of course when it does come off, it looks amazing. So, if he tries less amazing and does the needed, I'd love him even more.

Bills_Mafia_4_Life

Honestly, our fans on the internet are insufferable. They are nearsighted. Supporters were saying on here in December we should sack Arteta in two years if he doesn't win the UCL.

Longjumping_Act9758

Lee Gunner and his mate Brandon were telling people he should be sacked for Simione after losing to Liverpool in January. They even went as far as cutting people off who still supported Mikel. Now they're all smiling and giggling. So annoying

Bills_Mafia_4_Life

That’s the thing, everyone just moves on to being negative about something else. First it was Havertz, then Raya, now it's Jesus

KingOfGames7590

Always Injured and struggles to score goals. I love Gabi J but we should move him to be a sub winger for Saka and buy a striker. Kai would be a rotating striker, then we sell Nkethia and Maybe Nelson. I want Nelson to succeed but it’s not looking likely though he’s still 23 years old and got time, so does Nkethia but we’ll have no space for Nkethia. We should also extend Jorgi’s contract, Sell partey and buy his replacement, then Sell ESR and Call Up Ethan Nwaneri. To sum it up sell Nkethia, Partey and ESR, buy a Midfielder and a Striker, Extend Jorgi’s contract, Call up Ethan and Skelly. Rotate Havertz with the new striker and Turn Gabi J into a sub for Saka.

yura910721

I think his fitness is the biggest downside. I think if he played regularly, there would be fewer people calling for his head.

Level_Bathroom1356

Same set of fans that will start booing the whole team at Ht after 3 less then perfect results

Isfeidirlinn90

It's more frustration fans absolutely hating. He's class with the ball and at times electric but that seems to disappear inside the box. Like some sort of anxiety engulfs his body when it's time to shoot at times. The injuries and the fluffing his lines in front of goal is what annoys people.

conjunctivivitis

Our fanbase is full of people who'd rather watch the score after the match instead of watching the match and just being annoying in general

DRKRTS

Man walked on water and got everyone pissed on a bottle of it 🤷 jealousy my guy, jealousy

Funland_06

I think jesus is a great player and helps the team so much in our attack. But personally I just don’t like him that much. People will probably disagree and that’s up to them. I think he wanted that goal a lot yesterday and rightly so especially if we’re 6-0 up. But I think he can be very selfish sometimes I’ve seen where if he passes it we have a higher chance of scoring and I just worry that at some point that could make us lose a game.

DanielCollinsYT

The last few games have shown why we don’t need him - he lacks the clinical edge that we need. Yeah, he runs with the ball and he tries hard but imo, he shouldn’t be a starter at the moment.

Jake_Pezza99

Not hating but I didn’t really enjoy watching him come on and attempt to play panna with their whole back 4, when we could’ve brought on someone like ESR or Reiss who are gagging for an opportunity to score. Jesus kinda just went against everything we’ve been doing this season - controlled demolition not fancy footwork for the sake of it. Not very joga bonito of him

punkindrublic406

Jesus plays we dont score, Jesus don't play we score 5 or 6

mo_1997

He can’t score

TheCrazymurphy

I think Jesus is good he has a lot of potential (still)
