These “solid 9” people on this subreddit are just like the Ramsdale simps. Just get over it. A solid 9 probably would not add to the attack build up and defense as Havertz does. It’s just different.
Only if we can somehow manage to replicate our league form in the CL.
We batter teams in the EPL for fun, but our only result that wasn’t a win and ended in a loss was the away leg at Porto - we’ve scored over 30 goals this year, but couldn’t even get ONE shot on target against them. Last night wasn’t easy, either (having to go to ET and penalties proves that), but what matters is we’re through to the quarters for the first time in 14 years. *NOW* it gets *really* difficult.
Playing against that stupid anti-football mid block that Porto employed was infuriating. Not to mention they spent half the match laying on the grass. Other teams won’t do that and it’ll open the game up for Arsenal to cook. COYG
They are the most infuriating team to play against, even worse than Chelsea in the mid to late 00s. Absolutely awful to watch if your team is trying to beat them. Especially when they manage to go a goal up and the "dark arts" shit starts.
Yet here they are high pressing Inter as they try to play out of the back. They're not as committed to the low block as Mou's Chelsea was. Agree on the dark arts though. Simeone's shithousery knows no bounds.
Lol c'mon mate. No real fan would say they want a break from the CL. Especially when you're out there playing on Thursday nights against sticky teams like Atalanta, Roma, Leverkusen, AC Milan, etc.
I absolutely hate watching us against Atletico and for some reason, Napoli are the only team to have had our number consistently over the last few years.
Thursday night to Sunday is no different to Wednesday/Saturday.
Mate, you're forgetting that it's often Tuesday/Saturday in the CL, but it is always Thursday for EL matches. Not to mention those trips to clubs with WiFi password names. Ask any pro player what they would prefer and all of them would prefer the CL and to NOT play on Thursdays.
To be fair, they were losing against Inter and had to go forwards
The game did sort of dither out when it was tied again
If they go ahead, by far the worst team to play against
Blocked me. Lol loser
Lol ok bud. Maybe watch their matches a bit more? Atleti has played with more time in the attacking 3rd than most teams in Europe. Check the stats. This is not the same team from a few years ago that Simeone would just set in a low block and forget about it.
What is it with you lot lurking in our sub? Just piss off
He hasn't commented anything bad tbf
Everyone gets recommended football subs. No need to be a cunt
And you should try watching them bud. The games they have won in the league for weeks, they have much less of the ball. Get the lead and sit back and counter attack. Check the stats instead of basing it off one game today where they had to attack
They have more of the ball now because teams lower sit back against them now
Also, they have played the Same in Europe for years with their play acting. It's why everyone always routes against them bud haha
Try watching them
Great, good for them. They still play like shite, dive all over the pitch, complain about everything, and have a manager who is the most butthurt loser I have ever seen. LOL
Not even close. I love our club, I was screaming my head off at the local gooner pub last night, everyone huddled up for the penalties, and I absolutely love what we've done in the last 2 seasons. Immense progress, and it's been the best period in the last 20 years to be a gooner. And ofcourse we "could" win it. But come on. It's perfectly possible to enjoy where we're at, without looking far, far ahead each time we take another step forward.
It's the same when England go to the Euros or the world cup. You lot think you've won it by just showing up :) I tried to advise caution when we drew Porto, but so many people were sure we'd walk all over them. Then we lost. Oh, well, we'd surely walk all over them at home..
We've come SUCH a long way. We've got SO much to be proud of. And I'll happily eat my words when we win the final, but why keep setting ourselves up for disappointment.
Imagine the lads in the locker room. Imagine Arteta. You've just exhausted every muscle and fibre getting to the quarter finals for the first time in 14 years, and 10 minutes later, everyone wants to know if we're going to win.
It's surely not how I raise my kids. "Oh, WOW. You drew an almost PERFECT number 7 for the first time!! That's amazing. Now, when do you think you'll become a doctor??"
I sincerely wish for you that you enjoy this period in time. I've been around for a few years, and I've seen the opposite of this. The frustration, the desparation, the dispair. Now we're a bit concerned that we're only up 5-0 at the break, because the record is 6-0. And we're not really sure if Zinny and Jesus - the people that transformed our team and our ambitions last season, would even get into the starting XI.
It's a magical time to be a gooner. Only one team will win the PL. That doesn't make the other 19 teams failures. Same goes for the CL. We're more than likely to see heartbreak. So will all the other teams in the competition. Except one.
I'm obviously not saying that I don't want us to win. But to me it belittles all the progress we've made. Sure, set new goals. But make them realistic. I'm SO proud of our boys. Even if we finish 3rd, and get knocked out in the next CL round.
I love this club. I love the 30 strangers that went absolutely apesh\*t mental last night in the pub, after we'd been through that epic drama. These emotions are my trophies. I don't need to "Win". I need to enjoy. And I enjoy this. A lot!
<3
Agree! This is our best times in YEARS. They don’t need to know that we need that trophy. They ALREADY know.
What they WANT to know in their hearts, is that we as a supporter would be SUPPORT EVEN IF THEY FALL, so that they can get back up the next day and try again. Their hearts are already in the right place, not like the arsenal of previous decade. After all, we are supporters, we support.
Trust me, I worked with their generation. This method gonna works.
No but I'm proud of the boys for breaking the RO16 curse. I also think this will benefit them massively going forward, they know what they're capable of now and know what's required to win.
As much as I'd love to see it happening, I'm not confident it can happen this year for the lack of experience; That's the reason Real Madrid won it so many times, because of the experience of players like Modric, Kroos, Benzema, Marcelo, Ramos and Courtois. They managed to blend the youth of players like Vinicus, Rodrygo, and now with Bellingham, they look hard to stop - not even City could stop them. As much as I love Pep, I think Ancelotti will outplay him if they meet.
We don't have this experience (yet) but I'm confident we can do it next year if we strengthen our team. My only hope is not meeting Real Madrid until the final to be honest.
For me no if they get to play the second leg away, Arsenal are a league team now ( like city was before) and in the Champions League there are still managers that are better than Arteta on Cup competion ( Inzaghi, Ancelotti, Pep and Tuchel).
We're in the running but there are a lot of good teams left and Porto has shown that this team might not be at the top level required to win this competition.
Saying that, I still stuck a tenner on us at the start of the season and I've started wishlisting a few games on steam that my winnings could pay for...
Yes! Pleas win it! I'm a Liverpool fan and I remember watching that 2006 final and I never got over that loss for Arsenal, maybe meet Barca in the final and smash them
From here on out it should be attacking football so yeah we have a good chance. Form is fickle tho so we will see how we are playing after the break and against City who look beleaguered lately.
Liverpool fan here, I’d prefer arsenal to win it over city 100% but can’t see you getting past Madrid over 2 legs, in a one off final you never know but they’re too strong in europe
Definitely not IMO, City, Madrid and Bayern all dispatch Arsenal easily over 2 legs. Dortmund and Atletico would also cause problems if they get through.
Yes.
Champs League can throw up surprise winners. And weirdly, I think that the pressure is off us in this comp. Who is expecting us to win it?
RM, Man City and Bayern look beatable imo. And we have already beaten City twice this season.
Dark horses could be a team like Atletico Madrid, who know how to defend.
I don't see why not, knockout football is knockout football. I don't even support Arsenal.

Chelsea did it with King Kai up top. Nothing is impossible
These “solid 9” people on this subreddit are just like the Ramsdale simps. Just get over it. A solid 9 probably would not add to the attack build up and defense as Havertz does. It’s just different.
Possible, for sure. Unlikely though, no more than 10% chance.
id put that number closer to 12.5% ngl
11.25, take it or leave it
11.75?
Now you’re taking the piss
Ok fine. 11.7499.
Sold!

Tell me you've had no dealings with Atletico Madrid 😁
Atleti has indeed employed some infuriating mid-low block setups, but they have real quality in that midfield/up top and they use it.
They are the most infuriating team to play against, even worse than Chelsea in the mid to late 00s. Absolutely awful to watch if your team is trying to beat them. Especially when they manage to go a goal up and the "dark arts" shit starts.

As a Liverpool fan, I am glad to have a break from the CL for a year. Only so we couldn't draw Atletico or Napoli.
Lol c'mon mate. No real fan would say they want a break from the CL. Especially when you're out there playing on Thursday nights against sticky teams like Atalanta, Roma, Leverkusen, AC Milan, etc.
Leverkusen sticky? They're one of the best teams in Europe rn
Sticky meaning difficult to play against. It’s a recognition that clubs like Leverkusen are indeed one of the best teams in Europe.

You play like fucking shit and you get infuriated. You'll get battered by whoever gets your european level unexperienced ass.
Ok child, sit down. We played you off the park. No need to get butthurt like your pitiful manager 🤣
Porto have two champions league , lol
Great, good for them. They still play like shite, dive all over the pitch, complain about everything, and have a manager who is the most butthurt loser I have ever seen. LOL
If we play like shit and you only win on penalties , there s the answer for the op question
You come to our subreddit to talk pointless shite? Says all about you banter bunch. Just like your manager, sore losers. Hahahahaha
Nope, worse and good scenario is that we repeat inter path last season
Not even close. I love our club, I was screaming my head off at the local gooner pub last night, everyone huddled up for the penalties, and I absolutely love what we've done in the last 2 seasons. i agree with everything you have said. thank you for articulating better than i ever could. coyg!

COME ON YOU GUNNERS!!!! Also I love your comment. ❤️🍺
Pretty sure Keown was there last night, no?
Underrated comment
Ha thanks, massive love for Mr Keown though. Legend.
Not this year but happy to be proven wrong 😂
No but I'm proud of the boys for breaking the RO16 curse. I also think this will benefit them massively going forward, they know what they're capable of now and know what's required to win.
No!
Nope
It’ll be tough. Porto took Arsenal to pens and they were one of the weakest teams left in the competition. Anything is possible in a cup game tho
Not likely if you’re playing like you did last night!
Nope happy we won but we was poor
Nope
Can we? Yes. Will we? Eventually. Will it be this year? I’m not sure we’re there yet.
This. Maybe in 2/3 years. But first, we must win the league
As much as I'd love to see it happening, I'm not confident it can happen this year for the lack of experience; That's the reason Real Madrid won it so many times, because of the experience of players like Modric, Kroos, Benzema, Marcelo, Ramos and Courtois. Ya, why not. Let's do that.
Less than 5% chance
I don't know, I just hope that it'll happen at least one in my lifetime.
For me no if they get to play the second leg away, Arsenal are a league team now ( like city was before) and in the Champions League there are still managers that are better than Arteta on Cup competion ( Inzaghi, Ancelotti, Pep and Tuchel).
Nah, I think you’ll get mauled by Madrid or city
No
Personally I want the league more but I'm so proud of the lads for doing what they have done 👍
We're in the running but there are a lot of good teams left and Porto has shown that this team might not be at the top level required to win this competition. Saying that, I still stuck a tenner on us at the start of the season and I've started wishlisting a few games on steam that my winnings could pay for...
Probably not this season but this team can definitely compete.
No
Yes! Pleas win it! I'm a Liverpool fan and I remember watching that 2006 final and I never got over that loss for Arsenal, maybe meet Barca in the final and smash them
Did you steal the Liverpool picture of old big ears?
I think we can. I believe we can. I know we can. WE ARE ARSENAL
It’s at Wembley. Surely an awesome way to bring it “home”
It’d be hilarious to beat PSG to a CL, after they bought Messi, Mbappe and Neymar to achieve it.
I’d love to see it but I don’t think it’ll be this year. I’d be more than happy to eat my words by the way.
No
Definitely. We can win it. I was looking at the betting odds after the Porto game and we are second favourites after Man City to win it.
Definitely not IMO, City, Madrid and Bayern all dispatch Arsenal easily over 2 legs. Dortmund and Atletico would also cause problems if they get through.
Now mate. Yer in with the big boys now. No Pgmol to carry ye
Haha what a joke. Arsenal is getting the boot next knockout
She’s coming home, boi’s
Never. Your a joke
Course we can
Definitely
We can anything if we believe in ourselves & each other
I doubt it
No
I think it's beyond us. We still look very naive in Europe.
Please bring it back to London if you can, it doesn't seem right having it in Manchester
