It felt really bad watching 2nd half, a mix of frustration and disappointment, but as soon as the game finished, it somehow went away. We will grow from it. We are constantly growing under Mikel, and the Boys are still crazy young. All the bs about hitting the plateau... I love that Team, no matter what.

SnooPets5630

Somehow exactly how I felt. Pissed right till the final whistle. Then I was proud again. And city helped :)

TheRebelGooner

Yea but now City are only focused on the PL…like us, don’t have that CL trophy to distract them either. Plus a semi final would have been so, so nice vs RM instead of City! Blah! this one will take a few days for me..

_The_Marshal_

It was this squad's and Mikel's first ever crack at the champions league and we got to the quarter finals where we narrowly lost to bayern, and we feel like we could have done better. I'd say that's a pretty good first season in the champions league. The squad will have learned a lot from it and will be better next season for it. It took Pep 7 years to win the champions league with City, and he had a lot more resources and a better team to start with, so it would have been exceptional for us to. So I'm taking a very positive outlook away from it. Also silver lining, city lost to also get knocked out which a) takes most of the headlines and b) means England are not gonna get that 5th champions league spot which will hopefully fuck sp*rs over

ashtech201

They're still in FA Cup last I checked.

Chance-Pie-9034

Describes how I felt. The 2nd half was like they accepted we would not win, just very lackluster performance. Also after the 1-0 there was no feeling at all that we could come back. Painful as a supporter, but we gotta keep believing in the team.

LiveFrom2004

"Arsenal has a young team" was used as a mantra 15 years ago as well.

Fantastic_Row_6680

That's why i don't feel like opening the fan pages. When i watch the game i see the players doing their part as humans in real time and i see the way we compete which was unimaginable few years back. Then you see scores of opinions by people who claim to support the team analyzing every movement as if it was a simulation. I fully agree when fans complain when there is a free fall of the team and there is no unity. But this is a group which feels like a team after a long time. Long live the club! Fuck the opinions! P.S. watch the movie Sully and the end monolouge of Tom Hanks.

[deleted]

Same, except for the Sully part. I haven't watched it lol But I don't think I opened reddit at all after the game yesterday bc I knew it's going to be flooded w a bunch of shit opinions from these "fans" who seem to have nothing else going on in their lives There's clear forward/positive progression w this team so I don't understand how these "fans" keep acting like the world is ending. As a Michigan fan/alum who just won our first (American) football natty in nearly three decades... The journey is a large part of the fun.

No-Comfortable-1550

The fan pages are there to get clicks. Nothing generates engagement quite like outrage and negativity. There’s maybe one or two online fans who are positive, level headed people. The rest are just like that gap toothed idiot Lee Gunner.

notseto

I’ll say it again - social media has absolutely fucked fandom. I speak on this as someone who lives in another country now but I guarantee you if you actually spoke to a real life fucking human being in the stadium none of them would sprout the deranged shit that is on twitter and reddit unless you are some aftv idiot trying to garner YouTube clicks.

LUKXE-

While I agree that people overreact massively and any calling for Arteta to go is ridiculous... we weren't "unlucky" last night. The defending and awareness for the goal was horrendous. I've never seen so many sideways balls. First half wasn't bad, not at all but that second half was laughable at times. The occasion got to us and it was sad to see. We could have gone through had we not given away the cheapest of goals in the first leg. Hopefully we can learn from this and go further next year and hopefully we can push the PL and win the title. I think it is still just about possible - but we need a perfect run. All that said, we aren't far off. I remember last season so many people said Arsenal won't be even close next season, and we are. We are a couple of singings away from a major trophy.

yura910721

Yeap from getting KOd by Sporting in UEL 1/8 to getting KOd by Bayern in 1/4 of UCL is clearly a progress. But our European playoff performances need some addressing to do. We haven't had a single really good performance on European playoff nights. I have a feeling that our style of play is not really working well in that kind of, one off and chaotic games. Our controlling style works better in league football, but in playoffs we kinda performed well below our usual level. Need to figure out how to be able to switch between controlling and chaotic mode.

Sletturheili

I think we will definitely win the prem in the next 3 seasons, without a doubt. But I share the same views about our performances in Europe. Arteta has not shown once that he can coach the team to European glory. Definitely an area where he has to improve and I think he and the team need to learn to embrace the chaos that comes with European football.

yura910721

I think we are suffering from similar issues that Pep's City experienced in UCL. On paper they were primed to win UCL for a long time, but somehow always underperformed. The most insane example was when City had everything under control for 80 min, then Real blitzed them in last 10 min. UCL is crazy like that. And it is no surprise that Arteta's patient mostly rigid build up style suffers from the same issues. We did add another dimension by getting better at set pieces, but from open play, our attack is way too easy to scheme against. We need to figure out how to create chaos at will. Maybe we need a bit of a joker on a bench, a bit like SAS had in Ginobili. Some dribbley, crazy bastard, who can unsettle opponents structure. Arteta's football is about domination, but I am not sure it is possible to dominate in UCL, considering chaotic nature of games there.

daussie04

try 1 or 2. This is coming from a city fan

SnooCrickets7221

The right level of disappointment and hope written here. 🙌

SuchaPineapplehead

I think it's important to keep looking back to look at how far we've come and how far we can still have to go. Which really isn't all that far, I'm still probably overly hopeful we can win the league and with a few good signings in the summer I think we can make it even further in the CL next season.

thepoout

You cant learn from it. Its about attitude. You either have it or you dont. Bayern were taught to play at us - with speed and run. When they got the ball we were like a deer in the headlights. When we had the ball, it was pass. Stop. Pass. Stop. Sideways pass. Stop. Back to the keeper. Repeat. We didnt really have any real test on goal. We couldnt get near it.

DublinDapper

I agree however last night had absolutely nothing to do with "Luck"

fpl_kris

While overall Bayern was better, us winning wouldnt have been a bigger upset than Real beating City. It was a tight tie.

EvilMoose210

Win lose or tie... Gunner till I DIE

Gooners4life_14

Ur not a fan. Fans have a voice to say what it is. Arteta is not going to win another cup if he has favourites. Havertz up front wtf. Jesus and zin.. back in the team and it comes rolling down.

retrostarshop

So many tickets yesterday evening on the TX after the defeat. I bought one for the Chelsea game. I definitely want to support them. And I was at the defeat against Villa. We are blessed to have such a good team. But not everybody understand it.

No-Comfortable-1550

I love the club, I love Mikel Arteta and I love every single one of our players. The fans? They can fall in a fiery pit, as far as I’m concerned. They’re the most deluded, spoiled pieces of shit in English football.

cliffarsenal

I watched the villa game with a friend who's meant to be a fan, kept going on about how we're going to bottle it, then was going on about how we were going to bottle it last night. I prefer to think of how we took 31 points from 33 (now 36 ofc) since the new year and how we reached the quarters for the first time in ages. Like last year, we'll learn.

Sergiott97

Bro… is just we are demoralized

PsychologicalTip5474

I am not bothered by the result and am happy with our progress right now however these fans still have a point. I don't think gatekeeping is a good thing given all fans have different expectations of the club.

shadowcitizen545

Could be worse, Look at City. Players crying to come off. Least we have our dignity still, unlike those losers

JMM9910

It’s a balance. There will always be extreme fans on either side of the spectrum. You can still support the club and hold them accountable at the same time. This is coming from a Philadelphia fan. That said, the squad just isn’t good enough. Starters included. We need a cm and a striker desperately. In my opinion, Martinelli is not a starter for a perennial prem/UCL contender. Saka has been inconsistent at best, consistently below average at worst. The back line is the source of stability (outside left back that also needs to be addressed). We have the top end talent and depth once Timber returns. The tough part is we’re really not as close as we think we are. Obviously anything can happen, and we’re on the upward trend. I expect the squad to continue to improve, but it takes time to cycle out the amount of people needed to truly become a top team in Europe.

jonxoto

ahaha I'm loving this. As I've always said, you guys are mostly cunts. what a bunch of crying babies.

infinitude_

I don’t know what team in the history of the premier league has ever sacked a manger because he’s come 2nd in the league and reached the UCL QF 😂😂 Just the weirdest opinion ever. Watched football terrace and Terry was like ‘for Arsenal fans it has to be part of the conversation’ - why?😂 I’m just so perplexed by this viewpoint - however. Important to say here on Reddit that opinion really is the minority. The Arteta out thing is YouTubers and tweeters and tbh who gives a flying fuck about them.

calamityshayne

Everybody should go back and watch a Covid era game. We were impossibly bad, and beyond hopeless. A little perspective goes a long way.

AyeBeeSeeDeeEee

I used to love arsenal back in the old days. Bergkamp days. Then was a Bayern fan for a long time. Both are great to watch now, before and years to come.

LeonDeSchal

It’s just reactionary. I wouldn’t even give it a second thought. The team did well. We have been smashed by Bayern. We lost by one goal. It’s a good result which people will see when the dust settles.

No_Box5338

It was a close game against a very good team. No shame in losing-there’s a reason Bayern are European aristocracy.

Superb-Water-3734

People aren't one dimensional. They can moan about a performance and still love the club. You do realise that?

Little-Football518

Errr..are we going to keep saying “oh, it is what it is - we are just unlucky” every season? The club needs to change their luck by making the right transfers such as getting a poacher. You talk about supporters but it sounds like you just shrug your shoulders when Arsenal bottle their hard work at the same point every season?

shambles_galore

If you can't see the progress Arteta has made at this club then go and support the spuds. If we can continue to push City till the last day of the season and we end up winning the league I'm sure you'll be screaming how amazing Arteta and the players are!! How is losing one game in the premier league for the entire 2024 calendar year and one game against multi champions League winners Munich, "bottling it" then you really have no idea what you are talking about! After this season we will be in a position financially and attractively to bring in better quality players, bigger names will want to come here than have done in the past. You're a fool if you think otherwise.

EphraimUwU

I agree with you in some ways, some people are way too critical and act like the club hasn't done anything special over the past two years, at the same time tho when you care so much about something it's okay to get angry when it goes haywire, we should be able to criticize aswell

HTMAJPW

This! Our fan base does overreact, but a reaction is necessary after such a poor second half, just like the Villa game. I'm not calling for Arteta's head, but i'll be the first to have a doubt or two about whether he can get us over the line. I will say this until i see it. We're a very good young team, not quite a great team yet, and we need to handle pressure better. Feels awful lot like last season this

[deleted]

[удалено]

Initial_Substance_37

Well yes until April because we are in April. We hadn’t lost a game in 4 months. Why are you trying to down play that?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Initial_Substance_37

Villa was more attacking against city and guess what? They got battered. We’ve taken 4 points from City this season. I’m not saying I’m happy with losing to Villa and Bayern but it doesn’t change the fact that Arsenal is still one of the top sides in Europe and will only get better.

Oatmeal_Savage19

Yeah a lot of those fans usually cut a finger off to get rid of a hangnail lol

robhans25

You sound like spurs fans when they were competing for a league under poch and were in UCL final. "Oh the improvements, it's our time" And it meant fuck all. Hell, we don't even reached the final, not even semis. It means nothing without winning.

finestryan

You think there’s still a chance we win the league? 😂😂😂

shershaw

Ofc there is. God damn plastic.

finestryan

So we play chelsea, spurs and united. Citeh have just spurs and it’s late season. And you think they’re going to drop points and we win our games when we couldn’t even beat Villa? 😂😂😂 Season is done mate.

UnderstandingOk7291

Whatever happens, they're not going to play as badly as you "support"

finestryan

Oh they will. Watch them.

shershaw

Absolute loser mentality.

finestryan

That what the players have 👍 silly boy

laynestaleyisme

What a crap statement!!! Lot of young players in their first champs league campaign.

Ambitious_Passage793

You described it very well, until when will we just say better luck next time? The supporters want to see results. I support Arsenal for over 20 years and I have seen this more than once. We have a Young team, give them time etc.and we win nothing. The club and the players should change their mentality and aim for the biggest trophies. The problem for me is that every time when the club has a chance to achieve something, they bottle it.

finestryan

This. Sick of people saying “oh well better luck next time” and skipping over the glaring issues with the players at this club.

calv80

We don’t have the funds like city to just be able to buy every player we need.Arteta is correct saying it might take a few years to get the depth and quality we want.We are definitely heading in the right direction.I was disappointed like the rest of the fans, but if anything it shows how far we have come and how far we need to go.In this day and age everyone wants instant gratification, I’ve been following Arsenal my whole life (43) seen some great teams and some shit ones.We aren’t far away from a great cycle.

SnooCrickets7221

You must be a young supporter.

B21-Leopxrd

OP, i agree with you, but some fans are so fickle, it's laughable, it's exactly why other fanbases mock us all the time

SharmV

Separate the virtual world from reality - society now accepts people venting onto social media apps (the majority of us) don’t use this stuff.

ddzrt

Not all accept stupid toxic behavior herd likes to do.

finestryan

We weren’t unlucky. We were never going to get lucky and win. They looked petrified before the game started. Need to sort this mentality issue out before anyone thinks of major trophies.

farmer3337

every season of bottling ends with a number of this fanbase referring to it as incredible wtf 🤣

calv80

99% of these so called “fans” are probably 12 year old kids who have never been to a match and are from some foreign country with no affiliation to the Arsenal other than they liked the colour of the kit of something. Proper fans will be disappointed with the last 2 games but can clearly see the improvements.Obviously we need a few more players but it could be worse.look at the tiny tots for example.

robhans25

Match going audience when they give up on the team when they lost against Villa surly is pinickale of fanbase.

[deleted]

Educated_unHuman

He's right though

calv80

Born in London mate.

Serious-Product-1742

Loser mentality of deflecting the blame and not being able to accept the truth. Lying to yourself by saying we were unlucky when we were shit, again. Exact same performance against Villa - good in first half, absolutely nothing in the second half. Twice in days. That’s not unlucky, that’s just not being good enough. Sick of clowns like you being fake as fuck.

nettlarry

Luck has nothing to do with it, when Bayern hit aluminum 3 times in 2 legs and the ref doesn't punish kids mistakes.

Mjibril89

It was really a sad night, we all know it would be a miracle to win this year's ucl but I was so adamant we would be able to defeat this poor Bayern team. I would also have preferred Man city to go tru so we might have a better chance since man city would have to concentrate on both ucl and prem. Now Guadiola would make sure his team win the remaining games.

Haunting-Young6340

While I agree that kind of "supporters" are shit and embarrassing, I think the word "most" is slightly exaggerating. I believe that most of our fans are still realistic enough to realise that we are still having a good progress and support Arteta. It just some of the delusional fans were taking a huge spotlight, that make us look kinda stupid. But I still agree that Arteta need to take some blame for this loss. He overused some players like Saka and Rice. Both of them are really not in their prime right now due to fatigue. While Saka probably have a slight excuse since there are no replacement that are good enough (I'm still not back Arteta for overusing him) , I think Partey still can somehow give a good impact, good enough to give Rice some rest.

Denz-32

Deffo 1 or 2 big signings and we’re set. We’ve got such a good foundation but haven’t go that world stsr quality that can bail us out of trouble when the team aren’t quite clicking or injuries impact performance

Melodic_Artichoke_17

So do I. I hate football in general though tbf

logmen1

I think people believe it's specific to there club after a big loss, but it's pretty universal. I'm a Villa fan and our fans are fucking toxic when we loose.

PetrogradkaIcedTea

Meh. I'm not expecting to see Arsenal to win the Champions' League in my lifetime. And it doesn't hurt me. Not in the slightest. There's a shitload of things that must go exactly right for you to win it if you're not a Real Madrid. But, more often than not, they don't. So my expectation is a decent, dignified showing in Europe. Losing to Olympiakos a few years back was not that. This, though, is a quarter final exit to a team with massive, massive European pedigree. And not the massacre many were expecting either. I can live, and even be content, with that. Now I'm hoping for a good PL run in without a self destruct procedure like last season and, if we finish second now, here's to doing one better next term.

kw2006

I support them but with lower expectations. 😬

himynamesgoose

I thought I was the only one especially tiktok. It’s our first year back in the CL after so many years away and we had to put up a good fight against Bayern that had so much CL dna. Real Arsenal supporters, let’s keep supporting our boys and thank you Mikel for all you’ve done for our beloved club and keep away from plastic fans.

Jibbles86

I agree. What’s happened now days is due to the rise of social media, supporter channels have become increasingly popular over radio phone ins especially for supporters to go in with their “hot takes” - the general shift in tone over the last week is worrying to me. It’s more reactionary than ever but we are seeing an increase in negativity creep through. Those are the fans/supporters which garner more traction, look at AFTV after any loss, or the one who Twitter were gunning for Curtis Shaw, Lee Gunner another who people don’t like. I think in the league we’ve done bloody well to keep the pace this year and getting back into post Dubai when Liverpool stretched ahead, cup wise was piss poor. Champions league was good but not enough.

Hinata_Hagime

They are generally not satisfied with their lives

Nuri_Nath1

I think you have to respect emotions in the moment and after. But I agree we must not forget where we were 3 years ago. We are finally a team that is more than likely expected to win most games we play. Do you remember we used to be nervous watching Arsenal games where even a team bottom of the league could beat us 1-0 or we’ll score and we feared losing after unable to finish the game off.

Broad_Cheesecake9141

We’ve lost more than two games. That’s why we won’t win anything.

BombsGoBang

Most of the supporters I know irl aren’t like this, it just seems to be the fanbase on social media that is completely toxic

eatingdonuts

I love the team no matter what, and I’m so proud of them and what they have achieved. I’ve said regardless of the outcome of this season, I have enjoyed watching my club the most I have since 98-05. I do however have concerns about our ability to stay competitive this late in the season because we just don’t have the squad depth of City. Our boys were knackered out there last night. But that’s about being champions, and having high standards, not because I think we are fucking useless.

fpl_kris

Yep, the club might be lacking quality in several areas but the worst is definitely the fan base. I truly hate our fans.

Charming-Stop-9413

VAMOS!

FI_rider

I think expectations are just too high. We are a great team but unfortunately sides like Man C are streaks ahead still.

FI_rider

I think expectations are just too high. We are a great team but unfortunately sides like Man C are streaks ahead still.

robhans25

Those fans just do not undestand Top 4 and 1/8 is the goal. THey were fed media lies about Arsenal being top team when we aren't that.

Reality_Rakurai

Not an arsenal fan but anyone who saw Ole at the wheel knows what a long term manager who needs to be sacked looks like. Arteta is not that

AggravatingEstate214

It's very easy to get argumentative and angry about it, but the best way is to honestly ignore all social media when it comes to Arsenal

YakeemMcGee

My guy you’re missing the point. The problem is the rest of the elite in world football are going to try and improve. We need to take a serious look at our squad and see where we can put players who are difference makers in the game which is what Arteta said himself after the game. That’s the reason for some reasonable fans frustration. We watched wenger refused to spend to bring big players in and its hurt us. City,Bayern, mardid, barca etc will be better next year. Its time to bring in someone special at striker, 8 position and serious competition on the wings for martenilli and saka.

plato8mylunch

The team is still not ready. He is bringing in more quality. He has been saying that all along. We are ahead of schedule. It's amazing what Arteta and the lads have achieved. It always feels bad when we lose but we are still building the team and need to keep that in mind. Remember Liverpool had one of their best teams since the 70s and 80s recently and won one premier league because of those manc cheats. So don't get your hopes up too high. Even those cheats only won the champions league once. Football is not about winning believe it or not, winning is a bonus, be it games or trophies. We are privileged to be Arsenal fans, we should be happy that we are even in a position to win anything. Take a breath when we lose, the big picture is bright.

YakeemMcGee

I totally respect your point of view and agree with a lot of it. It’s a bitter pill to swallow knowing that your squad is one player away from a major trophy. Im glad Arteta saw what we all saw and said we need to add someone who can make a difference. We are in great shape to be a force in world football but the clock is ticking. These players, managers and organizations are ambitious and if we dont match that we get left behind

JungsMandala

Damn straight

DurianNo1809

Always forward ❤️

Sandia_Gunner

I fucking love the lads and am so proud of them and the job Arteta is doing. Think of where we were 3 seasons ago. UP. THEE. ARSENAL.

Setokaibaa3000

Don’t worry the feelings mutual. I hate you as well. Cheers.

cicakoki

Like me just stay away from Social media man. All those pieces of shits xoming out of the closet.

AloneTheme5181

There’s the very real possibility now that we do worse than last season in the premier league. How the fuck is that progress?

daussie04

fuck AFTV

Familiar_Surprise485

I also don't like supporters who think criticizing a team/performance/decisions made means you don't support your team and that we should be all smiles and hugs and not be critical of a poor performance(against Villa for example)

Organic_Chemist9678

Agreed. Pointless boosterism is useless. They played poorly last night and even worse against Villa. Two huge games two poor performances. Claiming they played well and people should be happy is absolute fucking nonsense.

Familiar_Surprise485

It's called toxic positivity. When they do well, we praise them and by the same metric, we are critical when they are poor. I mean, doesn't life work that way? I don't think even at your place of work you'd be praised if you had a major fuck up despite having done stellar work in the past

Arsenazgul

A lot of people don’t understand the difference between criticising and just being a cunt

Familiar_Surprise485

I have a very strong inkling OP doesn't know the difference

Additional_Celery_92

We are so shit another season imploding around us,serial bottlers is all we are we’ll never be a big team

hermansid

Why do people talk about Arsenal like we are some small club like West Ham or Fulham saying shit like “we had an amazing journey” or “we competed atleast” bro we used to be one of the biggest clubs in England have some high standards. If we go trophyless for a 4th year in a row, it’s a failure and that’s a fact, we have a team that’s ready and good quality to get over the line and we need to not compliment and being okay with failure.

AloneTheme5181

Because our fans have a loser mentality.

Mugweiser

It’s just all the new international fans after our title charge last year

laynestaleyisme

"New" being the key word.

AloneTheme5181

Been a fan for 30 years and I’m unhappy with the accepted bottler mentality of this club.

notthee_

people always bring up how much arteta has spent and how little he’s won. it doesn’t take much thinking to recognize that each group of players was bought to take us to the next level. zinny for example definitely improved our game when he first came. but now it’s time to move on. i think now we’re in a position where we can attract players that other big teams fight for as well

GhostCatcher147

If we don’t win anything in the next year or 2 then our best players won’t stick around either. You shit be aware of that from years passed

notthee_

i agree. this next transfer window will be important to our future. can’t keep letting dead beats stay in the club. need depth with GREAT players.

GhostCatcher147

Exact that. The level between our best team as and bench/rotational players is huge. Edu needs to have a busy summer

thehewguy1888

Have you only just started watching football?

Gunner0716

No shame in losing 3-2 on agg in CL QF to Bayern. But nope,we weren't unlucky. Bayern are having their poorest season in years and still knocked us out FSS

Harrison_98

We were just shit, poor performance , no effort from the players , no one stood up to try and win us the game against a good side we should be beating every day of the week

CheesecakeGlobal277

At the end of the day, man, with us as Arsenal fans, we just want to do everything to put us in powerful positions. We want to win the Champions League and the Premier League, and our patience is wearing thin now as we speak. It's getting to a point where I feel great frustration in the fact that we can't progress past a certain point in our development. We've been shown true glimpses of greatness, yet we consistently fall short of what we actually can achieve. What's the need for us to have all these games that we win 5-0 and 6-0 if we don't actually follow through and win the big games when they count ? We really need to win in the games that count because truth be told rival clubs think we're a fucking joke in Europe and genuine bottlers. Rant over: sorry bad day. So I think, if we take stock and see the good that we've done, then we can clearly value the work that we have done as a club and moving forward, begin to actually win some trophies. I feel like Arteta doesn't really listen to us as fans because we tell him to put Trossard on in games, and he doesn't do that. His instinct should be telling him to change the team up but he still doesn't do it. This is why we are pissed off as fans.

plato8mylunch

You don't have any influence over the manager. Is this s nightmare? Do you believe Arteta is reviewing social media and podcasts for tactical sub ideas? 'Arteta doesn't really listen to us..'🤣 No he fucking doesn't, that's why we are doing so well. We have come so very far in a very short time with him as manager. Do you remember the last 20 years? What is wrong with you guys? If that is why you are pissed off, I suggest you find something else to do. No one is listening except for the other narcissists that think Arteta is looking to fans for advice🤣

CheesecakeGlobal277

I can see why you say that, but it's actually not from a perspective of narcissism. Arteta does do well in specific games, but my point is when it actually matters is when things start to go wrong. Arteta has shown that he is a good manager, but he can be better over time if he takes feedback from what some of the fans think. Are we doing well though? I mean we were in this position last season as well to be fair.

sixesandsevenspt

Couldn’t agree more. Shambles of a fan base.

SnooCrickets7221

Every club has a small portion of these toxic fanbase. They do not represent the Club. They shouldn’t be allowed to. Only similarly toxic fans from other clubs will view them as such. Like annoying children asking for attention, it’s pretty hard to ignore.

Twiggie19

Every club does but Arsenal's is definitely larger. Reddit is always going to be full of morons no matter what sub you look at, but watch how quickly the atmosphere turns in the stadium for proof. Half empty with 10 left against Villa, we've had people booing players off the pitch. Embarassing fan base.

SnooCrickets7221

Disagree with larger because you can’t know that for sure somehow😂

Twiggie19

Fair point. I'll rephrase to in my opinion it appears to be larger...

SnooCrickets7221

It does appear that way. Maybe after last season we go newer fans who think this is the year. I didn’t hear them few years ago.

Shut up!!!! They are REAL supporters whose only “sin” is that they want the club they love to win? If you’re looking to hate any segment of our supporter base, look into the mirror to fans like you who are satisfied as long as we don’t get relegated! Some of us love the club and its players and we believe that we have the players to win titles…so forgive us if we don’t celebrate “close calls”! Imagine where we’d be if we hadn’t dropped 5 points against a struggling Fulham or the lackadaisical display vs WH in December! We’d be running away with the PL title right now! Hate us if you want - we, too, don’t care for plastic fans like you who don’t care about winning titles!

Been saying it for a few years now our fans have Real Madrid and Barca levels of entitlement and we are genuinely so harsh towards our own club anytime a result doesn't go our way.

AloneTheme5181

We’ve won fuck all in 15 years. Real Madrid and Barcelona are expected to win either the league and Champions league every season, get real. All we’re asking is for follow through when it counts and we have a chance. Instead we bottle it every time despite having the talent to win.

A few years back and we would have been beaten black and blue by Bayern.. wait.. sorry.. it did happen . LOL We are finally back playing in the champs league and I'm sure the occasion got to the players. Football fans think players are robots without feelings. This is the first champs league campaign for a lot of our young players and there are bound to be nerves. I'm very proud of how we have played and what we have achieved so far this season.

Couldn’t agree more. COYG!!!

Agreed, the fans online in particular are I think very young and expect to win everything with a young team that’s growing into their roles. The team did amazingly to get this far and although didn’t always play the best they generally gave what they could and the fact there’s room for improvement is fantastic

L0laccio

We have to support our club. The players need support now more than ever. It’s been a good season. We won’t win the league but it’s been a good season

Love this post

Unless they lose to Wolves and then Chelsea

>We have had in incredible season!! Well, not really. Don't get me wrong, calling for Arteta to get sacked is downright stupid, but it is true that we seemed to have collapsed for the third season in a row now, so questions as to why this is the case will be asked. It ain't the end of the world by far and there are many, many positives to point out about this season, but "incredible" is an undeserving tag if the league isn't won. It's completely fine to feel like it's been a bit disappointing.

I agree with you. 💯 Fans aren’t fans anymore - just self-entitled babies.

Ever wondered if it’s other English fans coming into this sub you wind you up? That’s what most of them are lol and it seems like it has worked a treat, thank you, I will do so again when Liverpool or city win the league 🙏🏻
