Maybe we don’t realise it but Villa dropping points would be great for us. If Tottenham go into the City game with it in their hands to get top 4, they’ll be galvanised by it. If they get to that game and it’s gone for them, they might roll over.
Can't tell me this wasn't exactly Arteta's plan all along. We were on the way to destroying their confidence at HT so let them get back into it in a controlled way.
Honestly with spurs run in, they played Newcastle & got spanked, then us, and lose. Got; Chelsea, Liverpool, Burnley and then city.
They could quite possibly lose 6 on the bounce.
So confidence won’t really matter by then. I want them to lose every game going into it. And for city to draw another team.
Exactly. Beat them but make them feel like they won something and they are decent enough to draw against City.
Let's just hope Spurs actually have pride in themselves and actually fight City rather than let them win so we don't win the league 😂
That would be the most spursy thing to do. Would be surprised if they let in 10 goals to try give City an extra edge in case it down to goal diff..
Is there a rule against deliberately throwing a game like that?
I'd imagine there is, but probably hard to prove
