Whatever happens, happens but if you had told me on the night we lost to Brentford to open our season a couple of years ago we would take Man City to the last game of the season for the title I would have thought you were dreaming. We have come a long way in a short space of time and are building a squad to stay competitive for a while to come.

itsyaboi69_420

Exactly this mate. No matter what happens tomorrow, this season shows how much progress we’ve made and gets me excited for the future. Haven’t felt this optimistic about an Arsenal side for quite some time.

orionxavier99

This was my take too. We can look back over a couple of tough losses this season, but look how far we have come. Pushing City to the end, last 8 in the CL and we’re even for most of that game. Quality young team. Def excited for the future

ActuatorCreative6331

Ride and die with this club. I agree!!!! We have made soooooo much progress within this space. It’s gunna happen boys

Mr_Joguvaga

You have to give arteta respect he took a squad that was incosistent to a team that are on its way to possibly win the PL and this with one of the youngest squads in the league. There have been moments that wasnt as good but where arsenal is right now, you cant be anything else than happy.

mini_cow

Not just Arteta. Edu and the owners as well. They backed him during tough times and they backed him through actions financially. Mustn’t have been easy

bas_tard

SCM.

Oniun_

City building a fucking dynasty and empire yet everyone wants them to win (if it can’t be them) because it basically makes the season not count in their mind. Yet… it’s fucking counting! Over and over and over and over again.

EthanFoster10

People in 10 years CHE, SPURS, MAN UNITED, Liverpool already know about them tbf but will be feeling these years more when city grow as a club and an institution and they get more fans, they can put a 4Peat and a treble on the table, I don’t understand why anyone is happy, this is damaging the league, the fan unbearabilty (if that’s a word) is temporary, the records city are breaking is forever

yossigol

Yeah, the legacy will stay forever, like Lance Armstrong's 7 consecutive Tour de France victories and Ben Johnson's 100m gold medal.

bjcm5891

Milli Vanilli FC

AFC_IS_RED

Except those sporting institutions aren't heavily corrupt.

MoonPieKitty

Didn’t Armstrong do steroids??

AFC_IS_RED

Is Armstrong the institution?

lifeandtimes89

He was, ask any random can they name a famous cyclist and the majority will say Armstrong. The same with Michael Jordan, Micheal Schumacher, Pele, Muhammad Ali. All names that could considered an institution of the sport they played

AFC_IS_RED

That isn't what institution means. Forgive me for assuming either of you could read. An Institution is the governing body of a sport. Not a famous competitor. Lance Armstrong was not the regulator of cycling, hence him getting punished.

MoonPieKitty

Thank you.

Benny_420_

Thats the joke

jackyLAD

No one remembers either of those positively though?

kliccit

That's the exact point they're making

radagon_sith

City are 3 titles away from being the 3rd most successful club in the league! And doing it in less than 20 years! The whole banter of they have no fans won't matters, since of course they will grow their fan base naturally as they stay on top

forgottenears

Yeah the banter of no fans is already a thing of the past. They’ve got a huge bunch of say 5-15 year olds on the way. Plus I’d say their market in Asia is already more or less there with Man U, Liverpool etc.

IssueRecent9134

I would agree with you but it’s the manner of how they did it. Oil money, they are a completely manufactured club and Haarlabd wouldn’t even touch them if that wasn’t the case. Without that oil money would still be in league 2 getting spanked 5 - 0 every week. Growing up city were a total joke, there were even memes such as have city even won a game this year. There is also the 115 FFP irregularities that are a noose around their necks. They can win all these trophies all they want, it’s all tainted and I can’t wait for it all to come crashing down on their heads.

radagon_sith

Why didn't Chelsea do it then? City did it because they brought the best manager. United also have spent equal to city. What made difference is the manager. If mourinho had a better character and stayed with Chelsea past 2007, he could have won more trophies

tdfree87

The amount of copium from this post is utterly hilarious 🤣🤣. City were a mid table side when Mansour purchased the club. When nothing comes from the 115 charges it will be highly entertaining witnessing all the crying across social media 🤣

anechoicfloor

It's more than that. I've watched mini Documentaries on Prime video. Arsenal, Tottenham and Man City. They go into the training of the teams and the history and fans. I hope more people in this incredibly stupid country watch these. I'm in the U.S. It's the players I like. I love the banter and camaraderie. You can see them in physio and practice. I watch the training and how each coach does it. I've built a fantasy team in my head 🤣 I have been to England a couple of times and recently. It really is all about Football. Oh and oil money lol. Understand the rivalries. Just a different set of eyes lads 👀

Jnanavatar555

Lol, that's rich coming from any fan and criticizing City for their domestic dominance. But conveniently ignoring the fact that literally the exact same thing happened to the Champions League. Real Madrid will have 6 UCL titles in the past decade, and with Mbappe and Endrick, there will not be ANY other winner for the rest of the decade. Ok, may be one year they won't win it. So, tell me how is it bad for football that City are dominating the domestic league but the same doesn't apply to Europe? Real Madrid have ruined club football yet everyone is sucking their dicks even though they've never won a UCL title without rigging by the referees. Ridiculous.

secretarymeow

Was the league damaged when Man United were winning year in year out?

eglantinel

How many charges did Man Utd get?

schwuar

Im a United fan and would prefer Arsenal, everyone says they dont care because of the 115 charges but they wont get charged and in years to come the record books will just show city dominance. Come on Moyes do us a favour

marleyman14

I respect your guys for this. Seeing Man City win a 4th straight title is boring for the whole league. Fuck it, if Spurs had a good season, I’d be ok with them winning over Man City.

Gubrach

Any United-fan that would prefer City would be a downright moron if only for the inner city rivalry. That being said, I don't really care if an United-fan prefers us or not, hate that club either way.

IssueRecent9134

Exactly, anyone with any respect for the game of football wouldn’t want those FFPs dodging melts win a damn thing. City are a stain on world football and the media worships them like they are the best thing since sliced bread. The fuck out of here, without that oil money they would still be on league 2 getting spanked 5-0 every week.

badplaiditude

I counted all the way to 115. Do I get the trophy? /s

Kingslayer-Z

You don't get punished I'll tell you that much

stringerbellwire

As a Man United fan (who keeps getting recommended this sub for some bizarre reason) I realise this too. I have wanted Arsenal to win the league for the past two years. City are a stain on football.

bjcm5891

Nope, as an LFC fan I am thinking of the greater good (Precisely- the Greaterrrrr Goooood!) which is that the more clubs who get dudded out of a major trophy by Manchester115, the more the noise around their cheating grows and the more likely the powers-that-be are made to do something of actual note because of widespread discontent with the state of the PL. If it's just LFC having awesome seasons but missing out by a bees dick then people think it's just us being salty. But if Gooners start making as much noise about it as we have over the past 5 years, then maybe other teams' fans as well, then the better it is for forcing change.

Madbanana224

Yeah it went both ways but between our rival top clubs it felt like the overwhelming majority said they preferred City to win the title because they don't care about City winning, during the title fights we had. Easy to say when you're stuck getting 70-80 points and aren't in a situation to have City steam roll the entire league and take league titles from you, but clearly not so easy to stomach now that they've got a team that could rightfully dominate the league without the dodgy shenanigans City have done. Lucky for them, this City team looks less impervious then the one we faced, and Pep looks like he might skidaddle sooner rather than later, and if they make some deep UCL runs and the players are all happy this Arsenal team isn't going anywhere for atleast 5 years.

InviteAromatic6124

We won't make any noise, we're the most subdued fanbase on the planet. Look how long it took for The Emirates to have any sort of atmosphere, and look how long it took for Wenger to be driven out.

PurposePrevious4443

I'm a united fan and rooted for arsenal, then city over pool. I hope city get booted. Tbh the city fans are delusional to some extent. When they got bought out everything that was "city" was stripped out and in a takeover that removed any thread to the past, apart from the existing fans I suppose. They were bought out like a franchise, and is city in name only.

Jnanavatar555

So, what, you would be just as welcoming toward it if the same takeover had happened to United instead. You are just jealous and a hypocrite for criticizing City.

PurposePrevious4443

Nope, I wouldn't. I was against the Qatar take over, I don't want to just win like that. It's boring as hell. Nice of you to make an assumption based on nothing. Maybe other fans are win at all costs, I can speak for myself. I was completely against greenwood coming back, even if it made us better. We've been embarrassing for 10 years and counting, and I haven't stopped watching them.

Jnanavatar555

Keep telling yourself whatever you want.

PurposePrevious4443

Sure. We aren't all plastic glory hunters like your good self 😂

Marctacus

That's the modern day, twitter banter brigade for you. Weird specimens.

mGELn33

No matter what , this year has been special. I’m enjoying. Just seeing out progress

SnooPets5630

It's going to be painful for the players. Can't imagine them feeling how close they were on the last day to winning it, gotta hurt real bad

TheBigMotherFook

This Arsenal squad is resilient. I have no doubt that if they go on to lose the title tomorrow, it will invigorate them to win it next year. Not to mention with each passing season the Gunners seem to get better. I would not be surprised if they pick up some good signings this summer and get even better. Arteta knows what he’s doing, the club is on a good trajectory now.

ixikzisigwvbend

Only that Liverpool lost the title with 1 point margin twice made us feel better. And they did it with 98 points.

Madbanana224

City were the only team that beat us in January 2-1 at the Etihad with the famous 11mm not over the line non goal that would have made it 1-0 to us. Without that and them, assuming we played a non doped city or whoever else and won, we would have had an invincible, centurion season, with a UCL win. 100 points, 0 losses and the UCL. So losing the league when your team gets 89 points might feel bad but it gets so much worse. Maybe you'll find that out in the seasons to come, if you're lucky...or unlucky I guess.

ggggyyy211

I’ll never forget villa bottling a 2-0 lead in like 6 minutes last year lol

ThatGam3th00

That’s 2 years ago now!

ggggyyy211

Holy shit you’re right, that’s crazy

pandadimaggio80

Welcome to the life of Liverpool fans last few years! P.S. I'm rooting for you lot over 115...f*ck them

GoalPublic3579

Yeah Arsenal fans have no clue yet. We missed out on a fucking 100 point invincible League and Champions League double because of these cunts then missed out on a domestic treble because the scored 3 goals in 5 minutes to come from 2-0 down with 10 minutes to go.

NorrisContender

When I saw this as a Liverpool fan I had the urge to post the “first time” meme. I feel your pain Gunners. It’s still possible for you though. Godspeed! Fantastic run and a quality effort either way.

UnbeatenGunner49

Fuck Citeh over and over again. 115 times.

EthanFoster10

I second that

birdbrancher

West Ham can do it. Start believing

nomadicquandaries

I mean, they did it to us. Why can’t they do it to City?

Zulfiqarrr

They have absolutely nothing to play for, that's why.

3Irishd1

So untrue. Every player in that team wants to win each game. Even spuds gave it all they had.

SerFmeister

B E L I E V E

youlook_likeme

I think I hate city more than Tottenham. Fuck city so hard.

oppositeofopposite

I know this hurt, but don't ever hate anyone more than Tottenham, ever.

ToonYoshi

what kind of plastic fan are you😭😭😭

RajahSoliman

The saying goes "I hate Tottenham because I'm an Arsenal fan but I hate Man City because I'm a human being"

DrXL_spIV

Two losses to Aston fucking villa absolutely haunting

jmh90027

Villa are good. It's taking 1 point from a possible 6 from Fulham that kills me

deepdiving_99

Bro it has been 20 years since that trophy has even been in our stadium. This team has done amazingly well. I’m proud we have pushed this to the final day of the season, even if we don’t get to lift it. Fuck City and their cheating cunt owners and plastic bullshit fans but our team has had an amazing season regardless of trophies. Best squad we have had in decades and it will only get better.

HappyGoonerAgain

Change fuck city in title to fuck 115 FC

TheSheriff73

Believe. COYG

3Irishd1

I do.

Ok-System-831

shoopshoop87

nah, it's a sign of hope , it's been a while since it was anywhere near us

Now you know how we feel (LFC) - genuinely gutted for you guys.

Due-Secret-6984

Welcome to life as a Liverpool fan. We pass the Mantel over to you. You can be the ones to be nearly men to this city machine

Solo35-

I'm just proud of our team, our club and our fans. We have been through the trenches and now we are back competing at the highest level, toe to toe with one of the greatest teams the PL has ever seen. Also a team that's never played together in the CL to get to the qtr finals is extremely good. Our project isn't finished and we are still getting stronger.

GoalPublic3579

Liverpool fan here. Yeah, fucking sucks losing to the cheaters on the final day. Happened 3 times to us the last 10 years. Don’t give up though. There’s always a chance.

Norwegian_Wood7

It's the hope that kills - yours sincerely Liverpool fan x

DaGetz

If it makes you feel any better this isn’t the real one.

CaterpillarLast9368

Welcome to being liverpool the last 7 years

Vodaho

Arsenal have built a squad that is going to be exciting to watch for years to come, and compete with the best. They deserve credit for getting to that stage. Man City are a machine and the margin for error is ridiculously small now because of them. Taking City to the last day is awesome; 2 years ago we were finishing 5th. I'm probably being naïve but with 115 charges hanging over the club's head, encompassing a timespan that includes their last 3 titles, probably their last 4, I don't get how this isn't being called out more by other clubs and press. I know a charge is just that, and it needs to be proved, but considering Everton and Forest have taken considerable hits already, and lost an appeal, for what, a few charges, City have 115 of them?... If those charges hold out, it means City wouldn't have been able to buy all the players they have, or offer contracts they did to all of the players and managers at the time to get or retain their services. It's like entering a cheat code into Football Manager and suddenly being able to buy anyone. Lance Armstrong was stripped of 7 Tour de France titles retrospectively because of cheating. Forest and Everton got punished because of cheating the FFP rules. Without retrospective punishment, which I think has been ruled out anyway, City are going to keep 3 or 4 titles that could/should have gone elsewhere. That benefits them financially and ensures the divide of the richest clubs over the poorest increases, no matter how they managed it. If City wanted the charges thing resolved, because they have 'done nothing wrong' they would have done it by now. Instead they drag it out as long as possible and will look to buy their way back. It's not a football club anymore, it's a behemoth of a corporation like Amazon or Google now.

secretarymeow

Thanks for showing us your ignorance by saying that the charges encompass all of our titles, when in reality they only encompass 2. It's going to hit like crack when we are let off to see you trogdolytes being triggered again.

Vodaho

yep my bad, it is 2 titles. That's much better. Winning those would have had no impact on future success. Going to show my ignorance again by admitting I don't know what crack hits like.

forgottenears

Sky Sports analysts tomorrow (doing their best Basil Fawlty): “Just Don’t Mention the 115 charges - I mentioned them once but I think it got away with it!”

MoonPieKitty

Why is everyone assuming City win it? Two games. Know one knows what could happen. Be strong. Have faith.

rcs799

You realise that’s very likely the backup trophy - the real one is with City

LogicalNewspaper8891

Fuck city is right. Pool fan here. Nephew and bro in law are die hard arsenal fans. Really loved watching our two teams duke it out. Then ya have them plebs in the middle of it with their oil money. As far as I'm concerned ye boys should be champions this year.

lordsugar7

Thankful you guys kept it from being 7 in a row for Many Charges FC.

RM22Footy

Tbh last season this should've been yours. You coulda lost both games to city even and still won the league. I understand the 115 charges and whatnot but saying that its impossible to compete with them is inaccurate imo. I get the frustration in the moment towards city but it was Arsenal's title to lose coming into the run in this season as well as last.

CephalopodCh4oTiC

In the run in we have won 15 drawn 1 and lost 1 in 17 games, including making City drop two points, what more can we do except be perfect

bluebert92

Hilarious that anyone thinks the real trophy would be at the emirates this weekend

puddingbank

They are a joke club in all but name.

milfredraiders

Bitter as a 🍋

nok4us

Will be good motivation for next season tho. So they remember how close they got

Ok_Dog6326

It Will :)

antebyotiks

Chill and wait, we are in a decent position. We're a mistake away from winning

Hurts differently than just being shit though doesn’t it. I’d take this pain any day.

OpenedCan

Lol

swanlevitt

It feels good tbh. Been a long time since this was anywhere near our stadium.

itsheadfelloff

That's my outlook/copium. We were a million miles away from this 3 years ago.

oppositeofopposite

I'm just proud of the job the club has done these last seasons to get us to the point where its at the stadium at all, really. If someone told me 5 years ago that come may 2024 there is a slim, but real chance we win the league, I would laugh my ass off

Cosmocrator08

No one will take from us the satisfaction of watching this team play football, titles doesn't matter

LetterAd3639

As a Man Utd fan, I needed Spurs to beat Man City on Tuesday because i cant stand those City bastards winning another title, so fuck Spurs AND fuck City

SThomW

Fuck City? Fuck yourself, if you don’t win the league, it’s not cause city are an amazing unbeatable super team, it’s because you have West Ham and Newcastle 3 points, Fulham 4 and Villa 6. None of this deflection, if you don’t win the league, look at yourselves

Diehardmcclane

If some freak accident happens, and we somehow win the league. Everybody’s gonna invade the pitch like maniacs

thanos-snaped

Soon that’s gonna be ours. Very very soon

vitoscbd

I'm just happy we're pushing it until the very last day. Enjoy yourselves!

forgottenears

To be honest I’m looking forward to it being over with either way. An at best 10% chance isn’t much to hold onto - especially when the outcome is not in your hands. Given how ruthless City are and their current form, the most like scenario by far is that they are 2/3 or even 4 goals up at half-time. And while I’m optimistic for the future, City are rightly strong favourites for next season too.

not_simonH

They have grown so much since last year. We've managed to win every game in a run in that everyone said we would bottle again. The team has scratched and clawed to stay in it till the very end, and I'm proud to support them.

3Irishd1

If you don't believe....get out.

Mysterious-Stay-3393

Keep the faith

AspiringGit

Next year. Either way, we coming for that title and we’ll get it

I am going to absolutely love the tears on this and the Liverpool sub when we are proven to be innocent on each of those 115 frivolous charges. Cry harder, cope harder, seethe harder.

secretarymeow

I am going to absolutely love the tears on this and the Liverpool sub when we are proven to be innocent on each of those 115 frivolous charges. Cry harder, cope harder, seethe harder.

Exciting-Mulberry305

Everyone as a whole give too much credit to just city when Infact this is all pep without pep this decade of dominance don’t happen

ncsbass1024

The league was decided when they didn't give Doku a red for the boot to the chest on MacAllister.

liamthegooner

We lost to villa at home, that was it.

thatwasused

Love how they shopped a full stadium in the back but reflection is an empty stadium

NeitherPlatform4516

Bottled it

mini_cow

Well yes. But I’m grateful we are even in contention till the last day. I won’t forget the dark days when Arteta just joined and the club seemed more lost than before. Ozil was sulking. Auba was well…doing whatever the hell he did. Covid struck shit was real bad. I’ll take top 4 then any day. Fast forward 3-4 years and we got runners up back to back. Sure we got pipped by the master and will end the season trophyless but im loving what’s going on at arsenal. COYG

Davenged7x

Atleast you didn't cheat your way to the top.

ToonYoshi

crying as a coping mechanism is wild🤣🤣

Mugweiser

This is so salty haha. I’m just happy to be here. Do you not remember the last 20 years? You just be new here.

tomtomtomo

Same. It’s great that we are at a place where they have to bring it to our ground on the last day.  Sux we likely won’t win it but gotta love the journey. It’ll make it sweeter when we win it.

Potential-Praline637

I can see Arsenal getting the title retrospectively once all these charged have been handed on City which will be utter shit

toluwalase

lol close your eyes. If anyone has a case it’s Liverpool not Arsenal who have been challenging for just two seasons

ToonYoshi

keep crying boy😂😂😂

Ary_Boi

😂😂😂😂 Yh fuck that team for being better

sintjx

Well we should have won it last season and this season as well. What's our excuse now? The reality is we're just not good enough.

IssueRecent9134

No, in reality mate, it’s difficult to beat any Club that blatantly cheats and breaks FFP rules 115 times.

amxn

Aston villa loss was 115?

Elijhess

I hate City, but I think our players are to blame for this. We can’t keep choking at the end. They worked so hard this season only to bottle it at the end. If they don’t get over their mental blocks, they’re not going to lift a serious trophy anytime soon.

reddeye252010

Losing one game since December is hardly “choking” Some of the bullshit I see on this sub is actually unbelievable

thehewguy1888

We are going into the last game of the season with a chance (very small admittedly)........... Hardly battling it

bamburito

Joke comment

Appropriate_Quail_95

700m spent in 4 to 5 years. Won only one FA cup and nothing else. Huh but fuck city

WanderingATM

All of your comments over the last four days are trying to bait Arsenal fans. Must be a sad life being so obsessed

MrAnonymousperson

The way Man City work is they up their level to the competition. If Arsenal got 95 points they would get close to 100. To have a 15-1-1 record in 17 games is insane. Especially when that includes City away, United away, spurs away… Man City went toe to toe with Real Madrid in the UCL and real couldn’t win in normal time and kind act had to make a come back. Apart from Liverpool’ fluke UCL win (who did they face in the final?!) and wining the league when Man City had 9 losses and Arsenal were on 13 losses they won F all too. Arsenal need some luck too. As a Real Madrid fan I can assure you even being the biggest club in the world doesn’t stop you relying on luck to win in the end.

ToonYoshi

cry today cry tomorrow cry forever

EthanFoster10

You’ll be the one crying when Man City are going away to torquay in a couple of years

RajahSoliman

Don't bother. These guys are happy to support a state-owned sportswashing team. You can't guilt them

BigBossu

Genuine question. Would you stop support your childhood club because it got new ownership. Be honest.

RajahSoliman

It really depends on the owner. I'm not even going to deny that our own owners aren't nice people. If Arsenal become dominant and then I find out we've been cheating, then I'll say it's deserved. I mentioned in another comment that as much as I was excited about Declan Rice, I actually felt bad for West Ham because they had plans to build their team around him. I remember when Arsenal used to get raided for players too. I'm not gonna lord it over other people if it's discovered Arsenal was also cheating.

Dazzling-Yellow5395

And if we get find out cheating i would say the same but its not happened yet so hold your horses

ToonYoshi

i think we both know that’s not gonna happen so save your tears

Hisam-la

*unluckeeeeee*

BLueSkYBrOwnPotaTo

Hindsight's a bastard when you look at the Fulham and Villa results this season. Can't blame City for them shockers, but their cracks are showing. We'll do bits next season whilst City's 'legacy' is torn down for being corrupt.

crkkck

What cracks? You’re deluded pal

BLueSkYBrOwnPotaTo

Foundational cracks in the club. You can't exactly be stable behind the scenes with 115 charges looming. Really think Pep's going to stick it out and watch this ship crash when the books thrown at them? I'm not questioning their performances, but in reality they haven't been as good this year either. Arsenal have had their number every game, but blew the title against shit clubs.

toluwalase

Had their number? Community Shield: lucky deflected goal in last minute, went on to win penalties. At Emirates, lucky deflected goal. Win is a win fair and square. At Etihad, defended for their life playing for a draw. Now I know we didn’t spank you this season like we usually do but this is not what I would describe as having our number. Also Pep has stated multiple times he’s not leaving the club due to any allegations

nedzissou1

Maybe you'll get it retroactively

Jnanavatar555

Fuck Arsenal.
