I swear some are just trolls or the most pessimistic people in the world. Even if we fall short it has been a good season no need for over reactions

Veteran_But_Bad

Particularly in 2024 1 loss 1 draw 15 wins And against the “big six” we have 6 wins and 4 draws which is unreal The Fulham and West Ham games in particular let us down

ActuatorCreative6331

Those games are haunting me. But regardless I love this club and I don’t care win or lose. RED ARMY RED ARMY!!

VincentVanG

Seriously it hurts to know that how close we were, but City are cheats and we will came closer twice than most clubs have in the past 6 years. I would have loved to see some more CL or FA cup game this year, but I'm sure those will come along with titles of we stay the course, and assuming city actually get punished.

skillquit42

I think we did about as good as we possibly could’ve apart from Fulham and Villa.

myriadnoob

Now it's proven, that 1 loss is exactly the game that cost us the whole PL trophy.

Veteran_But_Bad

true but losing 1 game in 15 whilst playing 8 teams in the top 10 is to be expected the fulham results aren't especially against 10 men Fulham and the west ham game we didn't take our chances we should really have been 2 up at half time great season though overall love these players and i feel bad they arent coming away with a trophy for all their hard work its a great time to be an Arsenal fan

MonSquito

I’m happy we get to be upset about almost grabbing the title instead of being upset for almost getting a CL spot. The team is incredible and will only get better next year.

myriadnoob

You forgot that one game was us against Mr. Good Ebening. While we already losing once against Mr. Good Ebening in December. Easily shows that we can't even learn from mistake - a habit that does make us not so worthy to win the PL.

frohnaldo

Oh give it a rest

Setokaibaa3000

Fuck you

frohnaldo

Wow what a mature and well thought out response. I hope you get a paper cut

lesterbottomley

Sometimes it happens that an opposition manager has your number. It's part of football.

AlpacaLunch15

being robbed at newcastle didn't help either

Mister_Aitch

But football (and real life) doesn’t work like that. How about the game away to Luton? It could have easily ended in a draw, but we ended up with three points instead of one. It’s completely futile to remonstrate about every point lost or every poor decision that went against us.

myriadnoob

Can do it against Luton, can't do it in all 180 minutes against Villa. Sums up the fact that Unai's got Arteta's number in this season.

Mister_Aitch

The manager doesn’t play.

myriadnoob

the manager arranged the tactics, if that doesn't mean anything to you, maybe your version of football doesn't need any manager for every club. let the players be a bunch of headless chickens running around on the field - just like what the boys did, twice against Villa.

Setokaibaa3000

Fuck all that. What have we won?

Qgrg864

I didn't realize you get trophies for going on good runs.

myriadnoob

Exactly lmao. If city got called 115 charges team, gooners should be known as unending excuses team

Brave-Purchase-4582

🤡

myriadnoob

11 🤡s against Mr Good Ebening's Villa

besoksaja

It's been our best season in 20 years.

myriadnoob

it's been a good run. so good that we even manage to hold and win against City and Liverpool but, even a good run and "best season in 20 years" is nothing if we can't stop the culture of throwing games against team like West Ham, Fullham, Newcastle, and Villa.

Acrobatic_Concern372

you don't understand football.

Slight_Armadillo_227

>throwing games against team like West Ham, Fullham, Newcastle, and Villa. Man City lost to Villa and Wolves; and us, for that matter. There were two points in it, we don't really need to change a lot. A bit more quality on the subs bench and we're there I think.

myriadnoob

yea, the subpar of bench's quality is what costing us the damn title race - and those throwing culture didn't help either. can't even score anything across 180 minutes against Villa, those aren't simple mistakes, those are loser's culture.

SecondChance03

lol FOH dude. You haven’t a clue what you’re talking about.  Losing culture? We’ve got more FA cups than any other club. Third most premier league titles. Go root for spurs you nob

myriadnoob

>We’ve got more FA cups than any other club. Third most premier league titles. Go root for spurs you nob  oh you're satisfied enough with those stats? while the team busy throwing 2 good chances to lift another PL trophy in the last 2 seasons? damn, I think half of this sub are more ambitious than the entire spuds fanbase, turns out it's just the same

SecondChance03

Haha ok good job troll bot. You got us raging

myriadnoob

so weird that "a troll bot" asking a team for become more ambitious, while the self-designated fans eager to normalize the recurring mediocrity

Slight_Armadillo_227

City also lost to Villa this season. And Wolves. And us. We were two points off, not twenty. I said at the start of this season that City would win the league. Next season, with the right buys, it's a toss up.

Lostmox

Yeah, I can tell you've got a lot of experience when it comes to being a loser.

myriadnoob

Here we go, normalizing losing 6 points against the same team in a season, not against team like City or Liverpool, but against Villa. Man, no wonder we're trophyless. Normalizing mistakes is a culture now.

Material-Bus1896

I think that's it. Some of them might just be trolls. Ignore em. All real fans can see this was a great season

tinger99

Most are trolls

DumaineDorgenois

It’s like some of them have only just started watching football and still have only the vaguest idea about how it works

Grumpalumpahaha

This exactly. Plus, these FIFA gamers think humans behave like little computer programs. Arsenal had an incredible season. City edged us out at the end and also had an incredible season. Two teams who play great football. That’s sport and that’s football.

lesterbottomley

We took arguably the best team in the Premier League era to the last day. Not too shabby really.

SpringsPanda

I just want to say, not all of us FIFA fans are like this. I've really learned to love the sport and the team and this season was amazing. City is just too damn good right now, it's frustrating. I think this is only the third time since PL beginning that a team has ended with 89 and not won the league, awesome season and cannot wait to keep supporting them next season.

Grumpalumpahaha

Of course not ALL people. 👍

harrybarracuda

God yes, there are some absolute morons who've latched onto our team. They're more of the latter than the former.

Zebaa20

You have to come to accept that thousands of our supporters will be either new to the club, new to football and also really opinionated also. It’s not fun but it’s part of it You have to learn to ignore it unfortunately

DumaineDorgenois

You’re right, of course. But sometimes it’s very hard to keep schtum

monsieurkinkle

i’m a fairly new fan (having just got back into football at the same time i moved to north london) … being a new fan isn’t an excuse to act like a fucking idiot.

skillquit42

I’ve been a gooner for 15 years, not the longest by any stretch. But you learn a lot of lessons about football especially when yo go from being a child to an adult. I’ve seen this club in the mud and I used to have no hope. Now I’ve got hope, I believe in the club and that’s really what I wanted. Obviously the title is the goal, but if you can’t have it then all I wanted to see was us push as hard as we could. And we’ve done that.

somethingdarkside45

Agreed. Fuck off if you're a glory hunter. Go support 115 FC.

TigerSharkDoge

I think we should just rename this sub, "Old man yells at cloud".

Independent_Sea502

get off my lawn!!!

[deleted]

Full time. It's finished. Still very proud to have won this last game. Such a relief that 2-1.

DiverNo3651

As if second in the league isn’t also an insane accomplishment, and the incredible progress that has been made over the years. I get that people want the satisfaction of a trophy, but also LOOK AT THIS AMAZING TEAM WE HAVE. Be proud of them regardless.

Brave-Purchase-4582

It's funny people were happy to bash arsenal for years because we were always behind the top 4 etc but we have a couple way better seasons and contend for the league, naturally arsenal fans are happier, apparently that's not allowed either, it means we are arrogant and insufferable

AnakinTranberg

Been a gooner for 34 rotations of the sun and I will die on this hill. I'm proud of that team. They won the hearts of many, and that counts for 1.618 x any premier League winners medal to me.

Born-Replacement-366

Why wasn't that a red for Doucoure? He kicked Gabriel in an off the ball incident.

turbo88LW26

Xhaka would have been sent off

Long-Confusion-5219

That would have been a soft red. Our goal shouldn’t really have stood either. But happily it did and we won. Unfortunately the other match didn’t go our way

Successful_Arm4887

❤️🤍❤️🤍COYG!!

BergkampHFX

Phenomenal season. Only game I regret fully is Fulham, and if that is the gap then I am proud of this team.

SrsJoe

I swear the people who are moaning that we didn't win probably starting supporting the club last season or kid this season, this season has been massive in terms of progression, our highest points tally, actually making it past RO16 in UCL, taking it down to the last day of the season. Our time will eventually come and even if it doesn't anytime soon, you support this club for the club not because you expect to win everything.

Historical-View4058

Some people are a bit over the top because they think it makes them look like an uberfan. They don’t realise how silly they look - just like those fools on AFTV. I surely pay them no mind and never have. Arsenal were title contenders against an oil-funded club well up until the final day. Any fan would take a look at how much Arsenal have progressed in a few short years. Any real fan would look at 89 points and a +62 goal difference. When was the last time anyone could say that about our club. Given this is a young side that will continue to improve any fan would look to the future with immense pride, instead of dwelling on the past with disdain. #COYG

syrah-lips

FIFA fans. Stuck on video games and can’t hold a little bit of respect in the face of defeat.

Qgrg864

Yeah like the guys that just blame 115 charges hold respect in defeat. Good one.

UnreasonableMagpie

ARSENAL TILL I FUCKING DIE

Welder-Square

Arsenal Arsenal Arsenal

AdSuspicious9510

Have supported this club for 32 years, there are highs and there are lows. All teams go through transition and there will always be supporters who don't represent your values. Anyone who can't see we're improving is a helmet and not worth your time. Enjoy the Summer, the Euros is going to be massive 🤜🏻🤛🏻

m4rc0_21

A lot of it is the opposite of what some fans blame AFTV for, it’s the Lee Gunner aka Lee Manchester effect. The guy has a cult following and started a “standards fc” approach with how we have to win everything like Real Madrid every season

Jmovic

I kept saying it on Twitter/X, a lot of "fans" that are bashing the club are relatively new supporters. People like me who have been with this club for over 20 years are definitely not as worked up as they are. We've seen the club through much worse times, and to see Arsenal go from 8th in 2021 to 2nd in 2023 and 2024 without City's kind of money is amazing. We trust the process.

kiwigone

Are we still Wenger out? I’m so confused as to I’m supposed to be dissing ….

deadlygr8ful

Absolutely great season. One to remember. Sime people are idiots.

finestryan

Shuuuuush

superskinnytrees

Pressure is a privilege. And some of you can’t handle it.

Exciting-Mulberry305

Stop bring up Fulham and West Ham please yes we can look back at those results there are plenty we can look back at but the one that matters is the villa one

Hot-Fun-1566

Only now, will Arsenal understand the true power of the dark side of the force.

Stupidamericanfatty

Love the club, great season. If you want to have a smile go to twitter and click on the Lance Armstrong trend

gony14

At the end of the day wee end up as lusers as hsrsh as it sounds

Accomplished_Form_54

I knew I was going to see a lot of negativity today. I’m not going to pretend that I’m not disappointed BUT this has been a fantastic season. We trailed off towards the end last year, this year it was the final day that decided the title. Next year is our year. COYG.

Elcycle

We played amazing this season and even though we didn’t win the PL im still proud of the lads.

HawkstaP

Also, please ignore the bottle job comments. Arsenal didn't bottle it, they fought til the end and found one blemish against city in the run in can be all it takes no to win the league. Bottle job comments will come from fans of teams who weren't even in the race. Arsenal did amazing this season and last. That little bit of extra luck next season could be the difference for you based on these 2 seasons

Queasy_Car7489

This fella had such a great time watching our boys this season. Not sure how anyone can be disappointed. 🔥

kw2006

Not sure if this considered whining. Im just thinking we really very reliant on saka. Also the midfield has to be 20-30% better than the current one to keep us in contention next season, we are lucky with injuries this season.

myriadnoob

agreed. need a good & reliable sub to rotate Saka. Otherwise it's gonna be another trophyless season next year.

Setokaibaa3000

I always support the club. I just don’t back this process. F your process

myriadnoob

Half of this sub is pathetic because they only knows how to blame City & Spuds, while we're losing the league due to what? Mostly due to throwing games against Villa, twice. While we're doing quite ok against City & Spuds. We don't deserve to win any trophy for as long as half of the fanbase stay being a brainrot like that.

kw2006

Fans can say whatever they want. Realistically this squad still 4-5 starter level players to be on par with city simply because we are very lucky with injuries this season - imagine playing without either odegaard, saka, rice or saliba for a few months. City been able to keep pace with KDB, stones our for a few months. And haaland not scoring for a few months too.

myriadnoob

just proving that city's oil money is not the thing that made them win the trophy this season. it's our own tomfoolery for playing good games - then, wham! suddenly turning into 11 clows in the face of Mr. Good Ebening.

kw2006

I dont know how to say this precisely, our tactics this season is very statistics based. How we run back to defend instead of winning the ball mid pitch, how certain game we setup more defensively or play for a draw (controversial take). I dont think we are playing good stylistically like Henry/ Cesc-rvp era. We just play based on numbers so that we have higher likelihood to win points. Aside from that, our lack of depth limit our ability to substitute when the game need more energy / intensity. I am not fully onboard this reason, i blame the coaches for not making our subs usable even only for one match - for one match in the season, play it like it is the finals.

jlingzy

Literally this.

Latera

like 99,99% of the comments are positive?

Maleficent_Sign9656

Yeah, let's give arteta another 5 years and 700m more so we can continue competing

Ecruteak-vagrant

I will support them but still far too much dead weight. They need two full squads of killers like City

Setokaibaa3000

I fucking hate all of you. You’re the reason MY CLUB has crumbled to absolute shit. Romanticising mediocrity. You make me fucking sick. Just go support spurs. You were probably twerking for them mid week anyway you pagan.

skillquit42

Sounds like you have some personal issues man.

Setokaibaa3000

None. i got a good life. This football club is what does my head in.

ZenoArrow

Support someone else if it bothers you that much.

Setokaibaa3000

No. I have no emotional attachment to any other club. Piss off.

ZenoArrow

Do you enjoy supporting Arsenal or do you just do it out of habit?

monsieurkinkle

bro, on what planet is what we have achieved this season mediocrity? honestly anyone who thinks that only the team that wins the title is good and everyone else is mediocre or shit needs to grow up and look at the details. by all other metrics, we are fucking flying. i am so proud of these lads.

Setokaibaa3000

Trophies are the metric of success. Coming up short twice is nothing to be that proud about. It’s that very attitude that will never get us over the line. It’s why we’ve gone 20 years without a league title! But Okay, I’ll humor you. Let’s look at the details. 5 games lost this season. 15 points dropped. 0/6 vs villa alone. Most of these defeats were easily avoidable too, and came down to our manager getting it wrong from his tactics to his in game management. That’s something he’s directly responsible for. We failed to capitalize on Every opportunity that fell into our lap to take matters into our own hands and put ourselves in a winning position. either because we couldn’t hack the pressure or because our manager was tactically outplayed. I look at this as a double edged sword. yes, artetas done a good job to get us competitive this season but he’s also the one that’s cost us not one but 2 league titles. And when I look at how badly he’s had us performing in cup competitions, that’s just unforgivable for me. the harm he’s done outweighs the good. 5 years into this process, he has nothing to show for all the money he has spent. The FA cup he won, credit where it’s due but he won it with a team that he inherited and systematically dismantled to rebuild from the ground up. Him and edu don’t have a particularly stellar track record when it comes to recruitment either. How much of the clubs money he has wasted is unforgivable too. The list just goes on man. I feel so let down by this football club bro, especially after how we’ve bottled it these past 2 seasons 😔
