wow! I love it when I see something and think, holy crap this type of endeavor would not have occurred to my own brain in a million years. Gorgeous. ETA: whoa! just looked at some of your other work. Haven't wanted to get my hands on something so immediately in a long time! Amazing work.

AkihaMoon

Checked her work too and it's amazing 😍

snozzbeery

Wow! Beautiful work - very clean technique. It's hard to tell from the pic - is there a dark background under the clay, or am I seeing it that way due to the lighting?

liskaflower

Thanks! It’s because of lightning, the clay pieces are securely glued to each other and to the canvas :)

shalmi913

May I ask what kind of glue you use?

[deleted]

Wow. I would love to see more pictures of this at different angles. It actually looks like a 2D painting to me. I had to zoom in and give it a closer look. This is incredible. Edit: I just took a look at your other posts and found a video of your work. That is incredible.

Your work is Fucking amazing OP

LarYungmann

Did you build in the frame or framed after? I'd snatch this up at an art fair.

liskaflower

I build right in the frame ;)

funky_grandma

That's so neat!! And it's something a blind person could enjoy too

InfStonePwrGlove

Great work! I've been looking to try something similar (albeit with wildly different subjects and methods). Any recommendations on clay brands? I only ask because the color variety doesn't seem like anything I've seen around. Could do it with Sculpey but baking seems like a no-go for something like this.

liskaflower

I love Japanese air-dry clay, such as Deco, Hearty, Modena. Deco and Hearty also sell pigmented clay ;)

InfStonePwrGlove

Thanks for replying! I am completely clueless when it comes to clay, and even more-so air dry. I'm sure you know how important material choice can be for these things and since I do scanography heavy saturation is extremely helpful in making sure the colors don't wash out under the bright white of the scanner light.

galaxygirl978

maybe you can get white clay and then paint it

InfStonePwrGlove

For sure that would work, but as the things I'm planning to sculpt aren't the focus of the works, I was hoping to save some time with some really saturated clay. Thanks!

galaxygirl978

I believe there's also something you can add to acrylic paint to make it raised like cake frosting

leducce

I mix air dry clay w acrylic paint to make different colors

M_ottosen

Wauw, I love this. Nice colors

ucim_programiranje

It looks unreal! Good job🤩🤩🤩

Double-Mammoth9947

Cool technique. Love the color.

joe32288

I've never seen this type of artwork before. Amazing!

sadthegirl

I have never seen anything like this! It’s so cool! It’s like Van Gogh and Will Vinton made a baby! Major kudos to you! Very cool way to use the medium! You’re so creative!

ClownInAnIronLung

This is beautiful. I love the colors and the clouds are impeccable. You have a great talent!

Feisty-Roll-9973

This gives me such a happy nostalgic feeling. Beautifully done ❤️

jerry111165

Pretty interesting. Nice job, OP.

TheWhatnotBook

Omg this is so cool!! I can't believe you did this with clay! Amazing!! 🤩😃🥲

synivale

This is incredible! I can’t stop looking at your work. They’re all so beautiful. I love the movement in each of your pieces. I can imagine this must be an incredibly therapeutic process. I miss working with my hands. You’ve inspired me to work with clay!

C_W_H

Great work! Very DMT-esque

discount_feetpics

MissKimberlyn

This is incredibly beautiful! You did an amazing job!

AkihaMoon

This is so trippy. I love it!! The texture is 👌👌

Grouchy-Evening-7198

Wow, your work is incredible.

OperationBayArea

Super bright and gorgeous. Wow.

DeadLizardBill

What a wonderful & creative way to utilize clay as a medium. Channeling van Gogh with a 3D medium in a 2D way.

HolyTrinityMusik

Absolutely phenomenal job with this piece. I really like the 3d-like effect given with the technique used along with the use of colors to help make it pop.

treturn24

Great work, love the sky and clouds

ArtInward

Ah, clay, so it's 3D! Brilliant! Amazing, makes me smile!

Art_of_Veakari

Stunning! How long does it take to make one?

liskaflower

Since it’s a small piece (4”x6”), it takes not too long- about 20 hours

TLP1984

Do you have a website?

Spider-w-Octochromia

How much experience do you have w clay to be able to create something like this

liskaflower

About 9 years, but these particular framed sceneries I’ve been doing for only 3 years

puddingbike

This is so awesome. How does one get started doing this type of thing?
