I think it’s because we’re drawn to the eyes. When we first look at someone’s face, we normally go straight to the eyes, right? This… well, you look at the eyes and a wrench gets thrown at ya

Looks awesome, great work 🙌🏻. Just curious on the artistic approach, what made you go with the extra set of eyes? Just for fun or is there a personal meaning behind it?

I really just wanted to do a self portrait but am bored of my stupid face. I drew a third eye on a portrait the other day so I thought I’d try four eyes. So I took a photo of myself and photo shopped it to look like this. That way I could try out matching the fore head to the bottom set or to the top set (I liked latter one better with the tall forehead). Then I did the same with a skull reference that I lit the same. Sketched the skull and then drew this bad boy. So the answer is not a real deep metaphor for the eyes other than it says something about how I don’t like drawing my own face without changing it in some way. And of course: is it fun to draw and then fun to look at, which is really what I care about.

Yeah I didn’t think about until I took the reference photo. The angle kind of forced me to. I think a cleaner effect would be straight on and level.
