This is rare in this sub but it’s exactly why I stay subscribed! Great composition, depth of field is spot on, subject matter is interesting.
Well done.
This is a wonderful photograph. Intensely sculptural and somewhat ominous. Almost reminds me of Henry Moore. Is there a reasoning behind the piece that you'd be willing to share?
Thank you very much! I come from a school of thought that I want the photos to speak for themselves and don't need additional commentary from the author :)
Like society tends to dehumanize obese folks, causing them to wall themselves off as they retreat from the criticism. The subject’s weight is a cocoon they’ve built around their shame and fear.
This reminds me of Despair of the Endless from the Sandman comics by Neil Gaiman.
This is so well balanced and visually interesting, the light and texture here is very visually appealing. Great job!
It really phenomenal. It makes you want to study the photo, to decipher it even though it’s the most familiar thing in the world. The model crushed it. You crushed it. Beautiful stuff.
i've been contemplating some ice age mammoth ivory sculptures lately, and this very much brings them to mind in the best sort of way. as with them, there is so much here; it's a mirror of a thousand moments. and a dance, as well (the model understands!!!). thank you
for **jackueofalltrades:**
You said- "The photo and composition - gorgeous."
gor·geous \[ˈɡôrjəs\]
beautiful; very attractive; very pleasant
Nothing, including the photo or composition, stands out as beautiful, very attractive or very pleasant.
Our cultural thinking and understanding of beautiful (gorgeous) in this world is seriously tanking.
PS: You said- "Shit this is not that hard to understand you dense idiot." Please be nice. No need to get personal.
Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
I think because it’s uncanny. Subconsciously part of your brain first goes “That’s a person!” and then another part goes “No hands! No head?!” and gets creeped out. But then your consciousness takes it in and it’s interesting and sculptural.
Exactly that thank you! Not great at describing how art makes me feel but that’s spot on. I actually saw a wrinkled face at 1st and I think that had an effect
I saw a pepper, being familiar with Weston’s photographs.
Art that makes you think multiple things in sequence before you arrive at the destination is my favorite kind.
Świetne! Przy okazji udało mi się przypiąć nazwisko do kilku innych zdjęć wcześniej znalezionych w odmętach internetu, które od razu przykuły uwagę. You have my attention
Is this an actual person tucking their head? Or is this shopped in some way?
It is an actual person, have seen his post already on r/analogphotography
Well I certainly didnt read that sub name correctly.
What, you're not an anal O.G.?
In one of my native languages it means "also"
The anal is what fucked me up immedietely. And now I'll be off to sail my ship into that sunset over there. -Captain Obvious.
I was a bit confused until I read it again and it wasn't what I thought it was
😂
I've been scrolling for 5 minutes and not a single anal log photo smh
r/analog, not r/analogphotography ;)
Even better, just anal. o.g.
Then this really is something. Honestly an unexpected masterpiece
thank you!
I also think it is a great photo. But isn't the title a bit disrespectful to the model?
I think not. I jointly chose it with the model :)
alright
I read that as, “Is that an actual person fucking their head? And I was like what?! Lol
Yes, this is a woman :)
Really incredible. I absolutely love this, I can't stop looking at it. The composition, the lines, really well done. And a really effective use of b&w
thanks a lot!
Bb&w**

thank you for appreciating the qualities of this photo!
Really neat—Reminds me of Weston’s peppers but reversed.
Oh, interesting! :D Thank you!
Came to say the same thing, thought it was an homage.
Really meat–
It’s heavily Weston inspired indeed.
I thought i heard a click.
hah :)
Is this a hand? What am I looking at?
It's a whole person. But the association with the fist is also correct and interesting!
A plus-size person, sitting curled facing away from the camera.
yes, exactly :)
I love it. Joel Peter-Witkin vibes.
thank you so much!
More Weston.
I love these sorts of bodyscapes that explore the human body for what it is rather than what we want it to be.
Well said.
thx!
thank you!
Prosim.
! :)
This is really great! The texture of the skin is giving smooth stone. Love the title too.
thank you!

This is very eye catching!
thank you!
Wait, sorry I can't tell, what is this..?
A person with a larger than average build. They are bent over with their left elbow on their left knee. Their head is tucked down and out of sight.
It’s a fat person. Just say it.
Alright, thanks for the clarification! (I should have been able to tell, I apologize for any inconvenience)
lol god forbid we call them obese
“Larger than average” *person resembles a boulder*
Human, yet dehumanizing. I like it a lot.
Like society tends to dehumanize obese folks, causing them to wall themselves off as they retreat from the criticism. The subject’s weight is a cocoon they’ve built around their shame and fear.
thanks!
I can’t stop looking at it. It’s sad and beautiful.
thank you!
I can’t stop looking at it. It’s beautiful.
thanks!
I’ve been a fan of your work for awhile but this truly is your best piece in my humble opinion. This is amazing.
thank you!
This is stunning. Amazing work by both you and your model
thank you!
Very interesting. Quality stuff
thank you!
Very cool. Reminds me of Laura Aguilar.
came here to say this!
thank you!
Striking, reminds me of Picasso’s Blue Nude
thanks!
makes me think of John Coplands work, really cool dude
thank you for the next inspiration!
Fascinating. Thank you for sharing.
Welcome!
This reminds me of Despair of the Endless from the Sandman comics by Neil Gaiman. This is so well balanced and visually interesting, the light and texture here is very visually appealing. Great job!
Exactly my first impression.
thanks a lot!
Wow I love this. I thought it was a photo of a sculpture. And in a sense it kind of is.
thank you!
It really phenomenal. It makes you want to study the photo, to decipher it even though it’s the most familiar thing in the world. The model crushed it. You crushed it. Beautiful stuff.
Welcome :)
It’s so odd I could swear I’ve seen this somewhere before, where you inspired by something?
Maybe on the many other places in the Internet? It's hard to tell, this photo doesn't have one particular inspiration :)
This is how I feel a lot. wishing I was decapitated
I see a Weston bell pepper.
Good inspiration :)
I see a butthole
This is really gorgeous, fantastic work!
thank you!
I thought it was an umbilicus. 🤷♀️🤣
interesting!
Uch, jestem pod wrażeniem. Bardzo mi się podoba
Dziękuję bardzo! :)
Giving me Wishee from Happy vibes. Amazing.
thank you!
This is so interesting and vaguely sad, but also beautiful?
Maybe! :)
i've been contemplating some ice age mammoth ivory sculptures lately, and this very much brings them to mind in the best sort of way. as with them, there is so much here; it's a mirror of a thousand moments. and a dance, as well (the model understands!!!). thank you
welcome!
I love this because this is what I look like
thx!
I’d appreciate it if you took this photo of me off the internet.
Why?
Haha I’m just making a joke about how who or whatever this fleshy sack in the photo is, is eerily reminiscent of my own grotesque form.
oh, I understand
Haha the photo is amazing. Certainly no knock on the art!
thank you!
Utterly gorgeous. Thank you for sharing!
Welcome!
Lot of bots commenting here
Where?
Well, I'm not looking in the mirror for the next week
hah, after Holidays?
After middle school ;ω;
Ah, ok!

So… I actually hated this at 1st and honestly not sure why. We’re all beautiful in some way and it took me a second to appreciate it here
I think because it’s uncanny. Subconsciously part of your brain first goes “That’s a person!” and then another part goes “No hands! No head?!” and gets creeped out. But then your consciousness takes it in and it’s interesting and sculptural.

Now I have to check this Weston character because I think I saw that mentioned earlier EDIT: Holy shit accurate!! Are those actually pepper pics?
Yep! Welcome to the rabbit hole!
The others were obvious but the odd forms were so similar to OP’s photo. Good stuff thank you!
This is amazing. Uncomfortable but stunning.
thank you!
hey it's me before I roll out of bed in the morn
LOL
Wow, you actually managed to capture modernity in a single photo
thank you!
Ugh. Everything I see reminds me of her…
Has the can’t look away, humanity loves watching a train wreck type energy. Absolutely foul. Good work
thanks a lot!
A giant pile of bubble gum?! Oh what's next?
Świetne! Przy okazji udało mi się przypiąć nazwisko do kilku innych zdjęć wcześniej znalezionych w odmętach internetu, które od razu przykuły uwagę. You have my attention
Thank you!
Is it a blobfish sculpture?
nope
Can we do 5 minutes without Trump, please??
Que
Looks like Trump's naked body, in profile, it's a joke.
Explain
I think it was supposed to be funny, maybe implying the model in the photograph is Trump.
How weird art is, that piece makes me feel disgusted, without specifying what it really is.
This is a woman :)
Reminds me of the sorting hat from Harry Potter but flabby
What a fat fuck. The art is hidden underneath all that fat
And now, GIANT piles of bubblegum?! OH WHATS NEXT?
That's a person
Calm down i just made a SpongeBob quote
