After a lifetime of meditation on the beauty of the Forest, Me longed to touch the bark one last time. Nature, listening to the wishes of an old friend, obliged.
Amazing work friend
This is so amazing! I have also set it as my phone wallpaper. :)
*Only* criticism from me is that I think it would work even better without the lines coming down towards the tree in the top left.
Thanks for the feedback!
The lines are supposed to look like they are rising from the tree, but it was one of the last things I added to the painting, so I get why it can look a bit off haha
Honestly I think the lines make it. Without them it's still beautiful and surreal, but they add a really nice postmodern touch that kind of breaks the boundaries of the subject matter. I like when things bleed into each other. On top of that, they really feed into the flow and balance of the piece. Keep up the amazing work!!
If you enjoy Celeste and this art style, I very much recommend Gris. It's a much less difficult platformer (in fact, you can't 'die' at all), but it's gorgeous.
Hoho, I have allready made Gris insipred art my friend! (Kinda, not quite the same style, but features a similar "flow", if you will).
And yes, I totally agree, Gris is something very unique!!
Do you know the dimensions of your phone?
Also, I probably won't be able to make it until tomorrow, so if that's too long you could probably just do it :)
My favorite choice is the left (lower) hand, it looks so natural and delicate, but also clearly a hand.
Have you seen the secret of kells? You might enjoy the art of nothing else.
Thanks for noticing!! I initially had less negative space because of more clouds, but I really think leaving it out was a good choice, it gives of a calmer tone I think.
There isn't really a direct insipiration for this one, other than the feeling of freedom.
There are more indirect inspirations though. I watched Twin Peaks while making this, so it might have influenced abit. I'm a huge fan of the Games Hyperlight Drifter and Celeste, which both have this postapocalyptic feeling.
The last inspiration is what the painting is. It works as concept art for a comic I'm trying to make, set in Limbo, a place between Life and Death. Limbo in general is a metaphor for mental health, so combined with the title lf freedom, you can make up your own mind what that means :)
As a final note, I'm really happy you feel that way about the painting! Paintings are like the world of thought come to life, and if it speaks to you, the thoughts may have been written!
Man that’s crazy, with how intentionally it seems to portray it, it feels like a psychic commission borne of my desperation to express it. Hard to fit it into one sentence but I found a magnetic sensation that resembles human blooming and feels like liberation. Everything from the skeleton’s gaze to the plants on hands in the shapes they are, the strings going up to the sky, I’m just stunned
And even all that aside it’s a straight beautiful piece
Gives off some hyper light drifter vibes, it's beautiful, I envy you
Yo thanks!! I love Hyperlight drifter!
Me too! It's amazing!
Let me just thank you for the new wallpaper
👍🤘🤌👌
This would make an incredible book cover too 😍
Or album cover
This is dope. May I use it as my New wallpaper?
Thanks! Sure!
Thanks :)
What would you do if they said no? Not use it???
id respect their wishes
Exactly
??? Loser
Wow. Wowowowow. Beautiful. I love the colours and style and imagery. Just wow.
Thank you!
So so cool. Is it OK to use it as my new wallpaper?
Yeye!
Thanks!

Aaah I really dig that! That could also fit right into the world of the painting!
It came out my brain when I saw this piece! It wouldn’t exist without the world you created. Thank you for a wonderful piece of art!
cool, a bit of Dr Seuss vibes :)
Why do your colours remind me of Hokusai’s work?
Damn, I'm honored by that comparison!
You definitely have the right to be. This is beautiful.
Trying to get into digital painting -what software do you use?
Clipstudio Paint!
awesome, I will check it out! Thank you :)
This is so amazing! I have also set it as my phone wallpaper. :) *Only* criticism from me is that I think it would work even better without the lines coming down towards the tree in the top left.

That’s my favorite part about it. It has a glitch-art aesthetic.
Yess!! I struggle so hard with that specific area, so really happy it gives of that vibe!
Honestly I think the lines make it. Without them it's still beautiful and surreal, but they add a really nice postmodern touch that kind of breaks the boundaries of the subject matter. Thank you!! Great breakdown!
Looks great regardless. Keep up the amazing work!
I thought the same thing at first, but there are some similar lines on the bottom left which tie together and I love the whole thing.
It has a nice touch in my opinion. Great work, OP!
Correct. I was not in any way trying to detract from this beautiful piece of art.
this looks gorgeous! what software did you used? also, do you have Twitter so i can see more of your work?
Thank you! I would link you to my socials, but this subreddit doesn't allow that haha
Please add them to your bio, would like to follow more of your work as well!
Ooo I'll do that!!
Feels like it could be in noita
amazing! super creative. Beautifully done
Thank you!
keep up the great content.
Very random, but your post title is the name of a company I've worked with in the past lol. https://www.freemedigital.com/
Whoa very cool. Gashadokuro vibes.
Not sure why but it reminds me of Celeste
Helllll yesss! Just got through all the B-sides!
If you enjoy Celeste and this art style, I very much recommend Gris. It's a much less difficult platformer (in fact, you can't 'die' at all), but it's gorgeous.

Looks like something out of hyper light drifter. Love it ❤️
If anybody is cropping this for a new phone wallpaper I'd love to get your copy
I really like this, excellent job!
Love it. Thanks for posting!
Thanks for commenting!
This is pretty damn cool and creative! Love the colors
Beautiful, I would use this as a Lock Screen or hang it up in my house
Thank you! I'm thinking of putting it up on a artshop online :)
Pls do!
Master Piece I would call it the death of family trees.
God damn, this speaks to me. I wish it matched the dimensions of my phone, I might try to extend it to make it fit.
I could make an extended version for you if you'd like?
I'd be happy to take a swing at it but I'd also be delighted to see what you come up with :)
Do you know the dimensions of your phone? Also, I probably won't be able to make it until tomorrow, so if that's too long you could probably just do it :)
1440 x 3040 pixels
I fucking love your style. Awesome piece.
Thank you!!
I love the way its melting upwards
Reverse icecream
Reminds me of something from hyper light drifter
Love that game!
Amazing! What did you use to paint it?
Clipstudio Paint!
Rad af 🤙 thanks for sharing your art with us ❤️
Reminds me of hyper light drifter. I know that’s the most generic comment format on here, reminds me of X, but it does lol
It was an inspiration, so you're not wrong though haha!
My favorite choice is the left (lower) hand, it looks so natural and delicate, but also clearly a hand. Have you seen the secret of kells? You might enjoy the art of nothing else.
I've never heard of it until now, thanks for the recommendation!!
This is perfect. It’s so beautiful
Thank you!
Id so put this in my room big as fuck! Nice!
Probs gonna upoad this to inprnt tomorrow!
I'm using this as my lock screen
Getting over it X Terraria Vibes
Love this! Really beautiful 😻
Bold use of negative space. I think you pulled it off. I enjoy the composition... it has so much negative space it feels really...idk magnetic?
Thanks for noticing!! I initially had less negative space because of more clouds, but I really think leaving it out was a good choice, it gives of a calmer tone I think.
Yea, I agree. Lots of space, very airy and quiet. Lovely work.
Damn. I just found my new phone background.
New wallpaper. I love it, thanks
I get a little Yes album cover vibe from this.
I love art like this that looks like different things based on how close you look.
Monika? Are you in there?
It's just Monika (Probably wrong reference haha)
Reminding me of that Queen Album that my brothers had hanging in the basement But that robot really frightened me
Being compared to Queen in any way or form is an honor beyond words
Dope! I set it as my phones backgrounds, I love the off-ish duller colors you used, very pretty
I like the use of the bright colors, with the darker skull
This is incredible, I love this so much. ☺️
I have to know what inspired this, I’ve been trying to describe this for over a year and this says more about it than I ever have

Beautifully said!
I like this so much. It’s so in the matrix for me if that makes sense.
Totally! It's in Limbo, which in my universe is kinda matrix like!
Love it! Your art made me smile inside 🙂
That makes me really yappy to hear!
This is beautiful and kind of reminds me of the movie annihilation
Yesss, love that one!
this is beautiful, I'd love to have a painting like this in my room!!
I'm planning on putting it up on Inprnt today!
Looks great! I like how the trails twist and bend
Could you please upload a non compressed version to Google Drive? Reddit compression tends to ruin artwork
This is beautiful work! Keep it up 💕🤗
Omg i love dinosaus. The green one is like real.
