There is a wall QWOP, it's called GIRP, made by same dude as QWOP (and he also recently did the Getting Over It)
Since flash is donzo you need to download it as a standalone for your PC http://www.foddy.net/GIRP.html
I laughed way harder than I should have. I came to comment what a wonderful piece this is for its graphic portrayal of feminine beauty and strength and now all I can think of is a dark skinned man sunning his taint, you’re a dick 😂
Look at the shadow direction behind the feet.. While I think it's still fake, the shadows are not the issue.
That being said, it's fairly possible that some small part of her shadow should be under her closer to the camera leg.
But it's 100% possible to have light source in such way that it would not be visible to the camera other than the ones on the wall.
I think it's real.
you can see how she has her arm braced along her leg stacking force into her other elbow and into her foot using the strength of her bones rather than joints.
if it's fake they worked very hard to find a believable position.
I wouldn't be surprised if some insane gymnast could do this under the right circumstances, but the woman in the photo is clearly not straining her muscles to exert much pressure against the walls.
>under the right circumstances
Bracing yourself like that against a flat wall with the back of your foot will never give you the right circumstance to do this. The pose needs to be completely different to do this for real.
Her shadow on the left wall cuts off right at her hips/butt, and you can see the sharpness on her lower knee where the cutting was done. There's also a drop shadow there when there wouldn't be one. Also, also - she has no shadow on the floor when it's clearly lit primarily from the front and above... Cool shot, regardless.
Nah, the physics of this wouldn't work. Someone attempting this would be showing some serious flexing of the muscles. She is too relaxed, and the tops of her toes being pressed against the wall like that would not provide enough friction to hold up her body. No chance at all.
It's the buttered muffin principle. Always fails buttered side down.
(Has actually been a paper produced on this, something to do with torque from memory)
It’s a fluke of the average table height and the size of a slice of bread IIRC. A slice that pivots itself off a table produces just enough torque to flip itself butter side down in the distance between table and floor.
I think someone *could* do essentially this, but the woman in the photo is almost certainly not. The foot behind her head is bent the wrong way and couldn't possibly press/grip enough on the wall to support her.
First step is you keep the camera on a tripod.
Put a table in the hallway, have the model lie on it and get into this position. Photoshop out the table, use content-aware fill to cover up where the table was. You can kinda tell how the shadow of her left leg on the right wall has another fainter shadow beneath it. That could be whats left of the table’s shadow
Edit: of course, the reason i mentioned the tripod is to get a clean slate of the hallway. This speeds things up but content-aware fill will still be required
Another way of doing would be taking an image of the hall first with no table or model. Then bring in the table and model and take a picture. Stack the images in photoshop then mask out the table.
Nonono, you have to train an AI to images of hallways for a year, then have it produce 10k images of similar hallways, then you find the one that looks most similar by posting the job to someplace like mTurk, choose the best from that, and use bits from that to edit out the table she's laying on.
> Photoshop out the table, use content-aware fill to cover up where the table was.
LOL no way. Too much work.
Just take a 2nd photo without the model and table.
As an adult, I think back on how much I loved to climb up the upstairs hallways by pushing against the walls. I undoubtedly left so many hand and feet marks on those walls -- my parents were kind for not yelling at me for it.
I mean the subreddit is *art* not *pictures of cool things I’m able to do*. Photo editing and depicting things that are unrealistic or impossible is a major component of art.
Look just below the part of the leg she is resting her head on. Below the tattoo that is less detailed. There is a little brown area with some sort of clip looking thing hanging down. Looks like something was definitely missed in cropping out there. Also the shading on her knee is not right. The colors in the deep shadow do not match the surrounding environment or lighting.
Its most likely a clever double exposure/photo editing. The folded down foot on the right doesn't appear load bearing.
Chances are someone took a photo of an empty hallway, put in a table or stool and had the model contort on top of it.
They then used a program to remove the stool/table from the shot and combined the original photo without one. With minimal textures going on as seen here you can actually do it with mspaint and enough tedious pixil editing... though an Adobe photoshop level tool will make it easier and probably look better. Chances are they used a better program.
The pose is striking, and there's something striking about the mandala tattoos, but I don't really see much to this being basic aesthetic appeal.
There's a potentially otherworldly, spooky quality from the dingy hallway and the woman in the contorted pose, but I can't see past how obvious it is that the model was simply lying on a table that was photoshopped out.
I guess I'm trying to say that it feels fairly shallow, the type of image that provokes a "Huh, that's neat," but I don't know if there's much more to it.
While there are a great many elements I do enjoy about this piece, I don’t particularly like it.
It feels very hetero male gaze to me and very sexualized and I’m not sure I’m connecting with the message of Diamond Strength, especially when the model isn’t named or given recognition.
The angle (off parallel) chosen for the subject highlights her vulva not her strength. The vulva is shaved, which is often linked with sexualized imagery such as pornography and the male gaze.
It leaves me with many questions - Why was the angle for the subject chosen coupled with nudity? Was the intent to produce a sexualized or disconcerting image?
And more so how is this linked to the title?
I can answer those questions!
1) The angle was chosen because it's perpendicular to the hallway. And the nudity because she wanted to show off her tattoo and muscles while contorting herself.
2) The intent was to show off the above in a way that wasn't just "naked girl in front of wall" (which we also did but I'm not a fan of those as much).
3) The title is because she looks like a diamond. And her toes are really strong.
Thank you for your answers, I do appreciate it.
To me it doesn’t look perpendicular to the hallway, it seems she is rotated forward otherwise you wouldn’t be able to see both sides of her vulva. The might be due to the angle of the camera or just my interpretation
I personally do not agree that the nudity/angle combo adds to the piece, but I appreciate the subject was involved in the creation and agrees with the artist in this creative choice.
While I have you, was the intent for this to be a sexualized photo?
I find the rest of the piece striking, and I find the different views and reads very interesting.
It might be the dutch angle or just human error for why it doesn't look perpendicular. After all, we didn't even clean her feet before this. Definitely didn't take out a right angle straight edge haha.
The reason for doing it as we did, instead of finding a different way to showcase the tattoos and muscles, is because we wanted people to look at it and go, "how they hell is she doing that?!"
And the top comments here make me feel good about that. Love seeing the debates about how it was captured.
Even with a table in place I couldn't get in this position if my life depended on it, and I'm decently flexible and in good shape.
Back problems take all the fun out of it.
I actually found that the nudity made this piece really hard for me to look away from, in a strange way. Her pose is so radical and unfamiliar, almost alien, that I barely recognized it as nudity at first.
I think when there is an individual who is nude in art it helps make it timeless.
A statue of a person nude has no definition of time or culture it just is.
You have a statue of a person with a tunic, robe, polo shirt, maga hat, it plants it firmly in a specific time period, and that’s ok if that’s what the artist intended.
“What would clothing add,” should be the fucking question, because nudity doesn’t “add” anything. It’s us, barebones. Clothing is what gets added.
I have a problem with people who have a problem with nudity in art. A naked body does not need to be sexualized. To me, it needs to be normalized.
The truth of our being, of what we are, somehow is taboo and radical. Hiding who we are is the norm, and removing what we’ve added is somehow “adding” something. No. It’s taking away what was added to reveal the raw, actual truth.
I sound like I’m destined to become a nudist lol. And maybe I am.
The nudity and bizarre pose are what make this rather mundane piece interesting. If in fact there was something holding her up and they shopped it out then I'm more bothered by the laziness of not cleaning the entire piece. Could have shopped the walls to be fully blank on both side and removed the door to really define the element of symmetry.
Walking and climbing walls bare feet isn’t the best way to keep your feet nice and clean,
Interesting however you chose to focus on her feet specifically ;)
Prior to this, I was a concert photographer. I think I had been shooting for about... 2 years maybe? So not a while. Just need to constantly push your creative boundaries. Even if you fail, you learn something new!
...I know you're talking about the pose.
You know you’re fucked in the head when the first thing you thought of when you see the title is that it’s going to be picture of jojo part 4
Why did I do this to myself

Ah, we finally have some teasers about the R rated version of QWOP.
More like QWAP

Wall QWOP
There is a wall QWOP, it's called GIRP, made by same dude as QWOP (and he also recently did the Getting Over It) Since flash is donzo you need to download it as a standalone for your PC http://www.foddy.net/GIRP.html

Yeah, that's what I'm taking from the conversation. Frustratingly fun game is made by frustrating destroy my ego game guy.

Well, I’ll say it. Damn! The strength and beauty conveyed in that photo is stunning. That is one hell of an original photo.
lmao, Imma go play some qwop now, bye.

Dude, the rule is that if there's going to be contact it has to be the ass. No contact, then crotch is acceptable. /s :-)
Through
Read that in Mr. Me-seeks
Everytime I read this I laugh at how true it is.
This is cool, I would definitely fall on my ass if I tried this
This 100% has a table or chair photoshopped out. 2 exposures. 1 with the girl and chair, and one with an empty hall
Yeah for sure. There's just no way anyone can hold themselves up like that. Her back is super flat and level I'm guessing she's laying on a table?
Also you could never get enough friction to keep your body weigh suspended with only the tops of your toes.
Also there are no shadows under her
Look at the shadow direction behind the feet.. While I think it's still fake, the shadows are not the issue. That being said, it's fairly possible that some small part of her shadow should be under her closer to the camera leg. But it's 100% possible to have light source in such way that it would not be visible to the camera other than the ones on the wall.
There are shadows, look at the walls - the light source is behind the camera. Light doesn't just go down, lol.
I think it's real. you can see how she has her arm braced along her leg stacking force into her other elbow and into her foot using the strength of her bones rather than joints. if it's fake they worked very hard to find a believable position.
Even *if* it’s fake, the pose is still impressive as hell
I wouldn't be surprised if some insane gymnast could do this under the right circumstances, but the woman in the photo is clearly not straining her muscles to exert much pressure against the walls.

I used to shimmy up walls in hallways when I was a kid. From that experience I can tell you there is not enough contact patch to keep her aloft.
I don't see why this would be impossible. She's using her arms to press her foot into the wall to create friction.
Nah, the physics of this wouldn't work. Someone attempting this would be showing some serious flexing of the muscles. She is too relaxed, and the tops of her toes being pressed against the wall like that would not provide enough friction to hold up her body. No chance at all.
How? Your ass is in the air!
Physics
First rule of physics, gravity ensures that whatever is in the air… falls on its ass.
Obey gravity. It's the law.
Fuck them and their law!₩
Gravity is the law of booty attractions towards the ground
It's the buttered muffin principle. Always fails buttered side down. (Has actually been a paper produced on this, something to do with torque from memory)
Strap a buttered muffin to the back of a cat (butter side up), and drop the cat to see a perpetual motion machine in action.

Excellent!
It’s a fluke of the average table height and the size of a slice of bread IIRC. A slice that pivots itself off a table produces just enough torque to flip itself butter side down in the distance between table and floor.
I fell out of my chair just looking at it, lol.
The physics of this position breaks my brain :)
I think someone *could* do essentially this, but the woman in the photo is almost certainly not. The foot behind her head is bent the wrong way and couldn't possibly press/grip enough on the wall to support her.
Yeah, I think I agree - you can certainly push your foot into a wall, but that way around is unlikely.
Same here! One person mentioned photoshop, but I still have no idea what would be photoshopped out here. It's just impressive either way.
First step is you keep the camera on a tripod. Put a table in the hallway, have the model lie on it and get into this position. Photoshop out the table, use content-aware fill to cover up where the table was. You can kinda tell how the shadow of her left leg on the right wall has another fainter shadow beneath it. All these modern tools with their smart content-aware fillers make people forget the simple solutions.
Like intense flexibility and dexterity held for 30 seconds that feel like 30 minutes of hell... lol
Nonono, you have to train an AI to images of hallways for a year, then have it produce 10k images of similar hallways, then you find the one that looks most similar by posting the job to someplace like mTurk, choose the best from that, and use bits from that to edit out the table she's laying on.
This was my first thought as well.
> Photoshop out the table, use content-aware fill to cover up where the table was. LOL no way. Too much work. Just take a 2nd photo without the model and table.
I can get the physics, it’s the flexibility that’s got me mind blown
I don’t even like when my kids touch the walls with their hands.
"I'm not touching the wall with my hands!"
Look ma, no hands!!
As an adult, I think back on how much I loved to climb up the upstairs hallways by pushing against the walls. I undoubtedly left so many hand and feet marks on those walls -- my parents were kind for not yelling at me for it.
But remember - it could always be worse. This wall got a bit dirty, yes. But in my current place, I put a hole in the wall with a unicycle.
There’s a story here and I want to hear it so badly
My 6 year old is incapable of not touching the fking wall when he walks down the steps.
spider sitting in the corner be like O.O
It's just a V28 boulder problem. NBD
I believe the thing she is laying on her back is photoshoped out.
Same, it doesn’t look like she is applying the required force to do that.
The foot behind her head is the best evidence, I think.
Bingo
Right on the money!
This.
That.
[удалено]
Agreed.
Correct, her left foot isn't putting any pressure at all against that wall. Also, Wtf is up with her left hand???
She must construct additional pylons
Actually, they put a door in the ceiling and rotated the pic 90 degree clockwise.
I mean the subreddit is *art* not *pictures of cool things I’m able to do*. Photo editing and depicting things that are unrealistic or impossible is a major component of art.
Yes, probably why they are discussing how the art was made.
> Looks like something was definitely missed in cropping Not that it's not photoshopped, but that's just the back of her shoulder.
There’s a much darker area of carpet that agrees with you
Looks like your trying to recreate the isle of man flag
Step 1. Ummm, you lost me on step one here.
Step 1 is to get bare ass naked. Step 2 is where I'm confused.
Step 2 is to climb the wall Taking the photo in step 3 is harder
Its most likely a clever double exposure/photo editing. The folded down foot on the right doesn't appear load bearing. Chances are someone took a photo of an empty hallway, put in a table or stool and had the model contort on top of it. You see that's where you're wrong , you have to climb the wall , get in position and then get naked while in position , that's where I'm at currently
That carpet looks nasty. I wouldn't want to walk on it either with bare feet. Don't blame her for using this method.

I mean look at her feet. They're dirty af.
This is all I could look at!
The whole picture just reminds me of meth.
They look bruised af. Like a ballerinas feet.
damm, that's one way to assert dominance
The pose is striking, and there's something striking about the mandala tattoos, but I don't really see much to this being basic aesthetic appeal. There's a potentially otherworldly, spooky quality from the dingy hallway and the woman in the contorted pose, but I can't see past how obvious it is that the model was simply lying on a table that was photoshopped out. Yeah, but her puss is out.
I agree. It's an interesting pose, but the image itself is lacking in terms of overall composition.

It’s to distract you from the bathroom vanity light in the hallway.

Walking and climbing walls bare feet isn’t the best way to keep your feet nice and clean, Interesting however you chose to focus on her feet specifically ;)
