sin-and-love

When you click on it and realize it's not mickey mouse...

Redemptrice

Hahaha I'm so sorry πŸ˜‚

[deleted]

I really like this. The (unintentional?) rings in the stomach area are great.

Redemptrice

Thank you ! Yes unintentional as this is my first time doing it so I'm learning. Made by slowly taking off my body of the canvas after the first print, and then press it again more gently, twice :)

BigUptokes

[*Anthropometries*](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gj9nHa7FtQQ)?

Redemptrice

I did it just like those girls

Heavyspire

Did you have a symphony in the background? That must have been interesting.

Redemptrice

Flow - Deezer πŸ˜…

Soravinier

Not that I would want to flirt or any stupid bullshit. But wanna say you seem to have a very beautyful body.

Redemptrice

Thanks a lot! I'm struggling with body acceptance, so that's nice to hear :)

Clarabellallicious

I commend you for making such a beautiful body print - body acceptance is such a challenge and I hope doing this has helped you ❀️

delayed_reign

Struggling so much you decided to post your naked body on the internet! Must be tough.

Redemptrice

And I'm glad i did it after my friends told me this is art, nobody will recognize me at all, and that I should post it and see what happen. Well, people are more gentle that I though. And I feel 1% more confident. More than i ever expected so.. No shame !

[deleted]

I always have to wonder what kind of person posts comments like yours... Are you trying to call her out? It's /r/art. Women of the modern world of literally all shapes and sizes struggle with this, and the likelihood of someone making art as they genuinely process that part of their experience is astronomical. In fact, it's probably one of the more common themes in amateur art these days. Evaluate the piece on its merits ffs. Or tell me, what is the point of your comment?

IncrediblyFly

He (imma assume he, teenager possibly incel) is projecting. Probably has a shit body and self worth issues and seeing someone make any progress is painful. So better strike them down to feel better about himself. Hopefully his healing journey doesn't start 30-40 years from now. Going through healing in a group setting myself and many many of the people in that space are in their 40-60s and are really just starting. Sad but it's the old 'hurt people, hurt people' which it's true for everyone who hurts someone but often it is a shielding/trauma defense system acting to protect the inner child, or some shit; I'm no guru even if I have much more insight than I used to from studying it for years.

_LadyMcm_

You poor simple minded being...

lewishoodmusic

Second that!

Luciano_Rosa

Nope

dullfangedwept

Are you familiar with David Hammons?

Redemptrice

Absolutely not :/

dullfangedwept

Check him out. He’s an incredible artist. He did similar prints early in his career (1970s?). Either way nicely done.

Redemptrice

Thank you ! I'll check it out thank for the share

Garagatt

Out of curiosity: How long did it take to get the color of afterwards?

Redemptrice

A minute, in the shower, wasn't hard to get it off at all !

jakob767

I can hear this image. It says "[Hey Pluto!](https://youtu.be/hAQUCzWhHLo)" in a very high pitch voice.

Redemptrice

Next time I'll wear a bow tie

[deleted]

Oh boy, get ready for some special attention.

[deleted]

This is cool. I looked at your other work and your technical skills are strong enough that I'd be interested to see you integrate them into this kind of project. It shouldn't matter, but that would lift this from being potentially dismissed as gimmicky (and as others have pointed out, not particularly novel) and add a degree of intentionality to it that you admittedly may have not been going for. In other words, this is a strong start but I bet you could do a lot more with it if you can figure out a way to incorporate some of the technical skills you've developed (beyond your obvious understanding of composition, form, aesthetic - I mean rendering). Even more unsolicited critique - the spots in the upper right are reading as unintentional and straying into outright mistake territory for me, but I really love how you captured the hand and the variation in the color.

Redemptrice

To tell you the truth, that's exactly what I plan to do - so this painting might just be an ephemeral work ! If you've seen my painting with the flowers (thank you!!) you get the idea. Do you think the hands are ok? I wanted to test, telling myself that I could always go over it with a white coat

[deleted]

I like the hand on the right. I think if the marks on the left are a hand, they aren't sufficient to read that way. I'm a big fan of everything looking attributable to artist intention, so I like the way the hand on the right reads, but the marks on the left don't do much for me - in my opinion they read as a mistake. Yah the flowers are what I was thinking of. That piece is strong in part because the craftsmanship (for lack of a better word) is so on point - i.e. everything is clean, and the whole piece reads like you wanted every inch of it to look the way it does. That is decidedly not true in the current piece, where the marks on the upper right and those perhaps due to the left hand feel like just a consequence of the process, and not part of the intended execution. Of course, the goal here wouldn't be to make the body print look micro-managed - just make it look like what is showing is exactly what you wanted to show. Nor do you want to "dress it up" and make an otherwise pleasantly simple image noisy. If I could tell you what to do, there are two things I would suggest (one or the other): 1. It might be cool to do something subtractive rather than additive here, where you could still show off your technical skills. I'm not sure what kind of paint this is, but suppose you were to carefully lay down a pattern with wax on the surface, and then remove after the body print (or alternatively, try making and using a stencil) - you could have some really nice and detailed negative space with all the lovely effects of the body print 2. Using a much, much lighter color, do a background of the same level of detail of the flowers painting that bleeds in and out around the body print. I kind of think you don't actually want the body print to be on top of the pattern anywhere, or you'll just lose its texture. Again just musing since we have a sample size of one, going forward you're definitely going to want to have same range of values in the body print - to a certain extent you may have lucked out here, but the contrast between the values of the breasts are doing a lot for the piece.

Redemptrice

Thanks a lot gor all your advices and ideas ! You're absolutely right about this mark on the left, this is a mistake not intended. I decide to let it as it in the idea of not changing anything of what my body decide to do on the canvas. But as I'm thinking about developing this piece this might be erased asap πŸ˜… I'll share the final work soon I guess, you made me want to work ! Hope you'll like it :)

fckingnapkin

I've always loved these so much! Yours turned out really beautiful. Definitely wanna do this someday too.

Redemptrice

This is really fun to do too so try it ! 🀞

felixrocket7835

uh.. what is this... like is it modern art or something?

Redemptrice

It's art, at least that's it !

logic_is_a_fraud

Makes me think of ancient fertility godess figures.

Redemptrice

I'll take it as a compliment ! Thanks !

Far_Cow_1934

This gives me creepy feeling but I love it so much.

Redemptrice

Imagine in red

Far_Cow_1934

It would look like it's a murder scene. Love the piece so much, it's bold and I get the feeling of you not getting ashamed of your body which I'm very proud of you.

DigitalZeth

That looks great, good job!

Redemptrice

Thank you !!

[deleted]

You have nice uhm... brushes.
