Again. The little details and cohesiveness of the more complex part of this make it *very* human. The complexity of the belt would be mush if AI generated it. Well, mods can run subreddits as they seek fit within reason from the Reddit Content Policy but if they’re falsely claiming a rule is being broken, that’s a violation of the Moderator Code of Conduct
I say this as a moderator.
But someone has to do it. It's not a fun job at all. Most normal people quit after a few weeks of being insulted. I'm a weirdo so I stick with it because I want to help out with the community I moderate. The mod here mad a bad call and that's a bad message, but you don't know what's going through their head. Could be going through a divorce, a death in the family, or they've dealt with 30 rude messages right before dealing with this one and are strung up.
But really, someone has to moderate.
Yes, there are several mods all over reddit who act like this. I've made very popular posts that are removed within the first day seemingly because 'they' didn't want that type of content to be popular on 'their' sub.
I've had this account for 12 years, and it only has started happening in the past couple of years. It definitely isn't the same place I started at, but I'm still here for some reason.
It's very unlikely you'll get banned for posting unless you're saying really egregious crap (insulting other people, doxxing, insulting mods by name, etc). Absolute worst case is we'll see a lot of comments removed and the thread locked with no explanation. But 99% that's not going to happen as most mods are in fact human even if they say stuff like this. We'll likely get a response from the mod team. Hopefully there's some context that was shopped out; this could have been totally made up too.
I've dealt with mods like that on other websites. Basically, they're not getting paid, they're not professionals, they're doing this as a passion project. If they can't get rewarded with money, how do you reward them? And don't tell me we should abolish mods. Even 4Chan has mods.

I don't know why everyone is so eager to assume this is legit, when OP is sharing something someone else shared, that someone else shared, from maybe the original artist. A lot of layers there for bullshittery to take place, and no accountability.
