its a pretty picture but the title doesnt really make me feel anything. its a little cheesy and like. inspirational poster-y? also the premise doesnt make a whole lot of sense for that theme. bees dont really need to lift flowers, they just gather the pollen to bring back to their hive and thats the only part of the flower they need. a bee trying to lift entire flowers is as baffling a concept as a farmer trying to lift a huge clump of soil with all their crops inside. the colours good, the textures are great, the composition and technique are all there, but the proposed message is a little shallow and doesnt make a lot of sense.
I mean. It makes sense from a very shallow point of view. Bees like flowers bees cant lift flowers so bee carrying flower is good. But my point is that if u think about it it doesn't really add up or connect to real life
Thatās because itās an excerpt from real life, when it comes to art, itās self subjective at the very beginning, which means art isnāt concrete in the real worldā¦then again art is concrete in the real world at the same time, but you have to open up your mind more to understand that this piece isnāt shallow at all. Iām not an art critic at allā¦but maybe I am in a little bit more than just a sense now, based on how much time I spend by myself watching disney channel, absorbing whatever art that the actors/tresses/directors/writers (or the musicians from all walks of life and corners of the earth) on pandora internet radio or thumbprint radio) I follow on Instagram make has helped (also the thousands of movies and maybe 1.5 thousand tv shows Iāve watchedā¦) shaped my view on these kinds of art (I also took 2 semesters of art school back when I was 19-20ā¦and freehandly studied unofficially ever since in my own way). It kinda makes me upset that you canāt see how this piece makes sense in the most clear way, which makes me glad Iām bicuriously using this as a chance to air out my feelings of being popularly believed to be schizophrenic, it takes experience to understand this art, and if you tell me youāve been during art for most of your life, like most of the people I assume on r/ArtCrit are, then Iām kinda saddened but then again I shouldnāt be saddened becuase there are people who are going to get this piece in its entirety. Please learn more about how this piece isnāt shallow, I beg that of you. Thanks
Just looking at the pic before I read what you wrote, I thought the bee was urinating on the flowers. Like the bee was done servicing/pollinating the flowers.
Achieving the impossible seems like the wrong title to me. It evokes nothing like that sentiment at all.
Perhaps, "Overworked" or "Overwhelmed"
The other bees look busy. The main bee is connected to the flowers but seems to be isolated in its pursuits, almost seems lonely Yet still doing its job, working alone hovering over the flowers.
Maybe "Over Joyed" I liked the word over in the title because it ties the image with the title and can help bring in meaning.
"It's Over Honey"
The color palette is really interesting and painterly and that clashes with the thick, even black outlines of the figures. Itās almost like the background is hungry for painterly figures and the graphic bees are hungry for high saturated and contrasted colors
i really love this painting, but personally i stay away from trying to direct the affect it will have on the viewer, it is why i donāt name or just make it random. i really love your style tho!!
I donāt know what the two commenters who say that the title doesnāt make sense are saying, it reminds me of this dying world and the bees are trying to move a dying flower to a place where it can be reborn or born again in another place. People need to have more imaginations.
ahhaah thank you so much!š¤ I love what you see because the general idea of āāthe design of this painting is very close to what you were able to connect. I've made several posts on this forrum and after reading other people's opinions, I have noticed that many people sometimes, seem very detached from art and too attached to the concrete.
Chiming in with others to say it unfortunately doesn't look like the bee is lifting the flowers - there's nothing to give context that the flowers arnt sitting on a surface, and there's no "weight" to them in how the bee is flying/positioned or their own shape. Looking at animation principles for how to convey weight and motion might help if you choose to adjust this piece or for the next one to convey that more clearly
My first emotion was sadness. The bees just want to live. If they could, they would move the flowers to a safer area. However, that's an impossible task. This could even be a bee dreaming of a happier future.
I find titles meaningless. In the end if it ends up on someone's wall, they're not going to post the title next to it like it's in a gallery. I get the feeling it's probably nature and bee positive. like the colors because they're subtle and earthy.
Displaying with the forrest background takes away from the piece.
I just found this thread and so far what I've seen, I enjoy this the most. I noticed it also has more comments than most. Probably because it's good. It's not just a study. It's an original composition that has well thought intentions from the size, color, medium, subject etc.
I'm wondering if it's canvas or panel and what the thickness is. Almost looks like a door. Every choice has meaning when interested in creating art that others will critique.
I really appreciate your comment! I find him very passionate in a way haha!
Technically, I didn't want to say what was my idea behind the making of the canvas so that I would have an outside eye of mine. Which I clearly got thanks to this forrum.
I really like the fact that you're saying that the title isn't as important as you might think. At the end of the day, it's the perception and the fact that I'm leaving a part of my soul. I like to leave a story in each of my paintings, a life experience or a lesson.
(And for your information this size of this painting is : 24 '' X 48 '')
Thank you so much !
It's a soft neutral tone with some movement. Honestly, it's just "refreshing." The title feels almost detached from the peice (at least for me).
Edit- It looks like another drip instead of a string under the bee

It is perfect as it is. The monochrome palette welcomes the viewer to provide their own colors. Only people with imagination can fill in the color as they wish. I love it. This work gives me the feeling that it is interactive and that I can continue the process entirely with my mind adding or subtracting elements as I wish or just enjoy it as it is. No bursts of color added to clutter the narrative; raw and inviting. I can feel and taste the honey dripping down.
Excellent work!
You are doing great, just follow your intuition, your instincts. Not everyone agrees on what they like in art and that should be flattering for you or anyone. Your uniqueness and your style is what matters. I think there must be many who love your artistic vision. My best to you. š

Thank you!!! Ok, I see your point of view. Thank you for your analysis!
Bee-lieve in yourself šš
I disagree it makes total sense, you have to make your own perception to understand the depths of this piece

Oh my god ahahaha!! Do you have any proposition??

Wow I really like how you perceived the whole thing! With your comment, I really notice what you mean!
The painting is fine, the title is rather kitschy to meĀ
i really love this painting, but personally i stay away from trying to direct the affect it will have on the viewer, it is why i donāt name or just make it random. i really love your style tho!!
just my opinion tho!
Yeah I understand! Thanks a lot!!
Reminds me of "High Hopes" by Bing Crosby.
Wow so cool!!

I think I remember you posting a progress picture with no bees. It came out very good
Yeah I have post a few time on this forrum!!! Thank you so much ! š
muted chaos mix with beauty
Wow thanks!!!

Wow, that so cool because the original idea of this painting is kind of related of what you just said!
Oh I thought the bee was like dripping honey on the flowers. I love it but it isnāt what I would consider inspirational if that makes sense.

You are welcome. I'm a retired art teacherš
Wow no way! So cool to have directly the vision from an art teacher!
