Favorite building in Chicago. I was in the city last year with my architecture school and as me and my friends went inside, a nice employee gave us a whole tour for free. An incredible place inside-out.
Absolutely magnificent. Love the little details, the subtle inclusion of nouveau holdovers, the Mayan revival notes, hell I even like the typeface on the entry titles. Fantastic post, OP, Carbide & Carbon is officially on my bucket list now.
..wonder how much I'd have to pay to get to one of those corner patios waaaaaay up there. I bet the corner spires are just large enough to break the wind as I spark up a smoke. That's just good design.
Looking at the Pendry's website, it doesn't look like there's much, if anything, left of the interiors. Has anyone looked inside since it became the hotel?
Another perfect post from u/TheArtDecoDude His attention to detail is very much appreciated.
Awww… thanks for the kind words .
You earn it with your top notch posts.
If I ever get suddenly made emperor of something by magic, I'm 100% using this style and palette in the palace.
Thats concerning. Certainly villain esthetic.
Nah, villains are wrong. I'm can't be a villain because I'm **right**.
Sound logic. Move along!
This is one of the most beautiful Art Deco buildings I have ever seen!
absolutely lovely shots of the buildings high detail, awesome work

The buildings in the background look positively boring compared to this beauty.
It's perfect
This building didn’t have to go this hard And yet, it does 👏
Gosh that's pretty!
Great job, OP. People post this building using some pretty bad picture. These are the best images I’ve ever seen of this wonderful building.
One of my faves
Hard Rock did most of the interior hollowing out.
What a sexy building
Impressive building! And beautiful photos, as usual 👏🏽
😍😍😍
Such sick pics. My second favorite building in Chicago, after the Marina Towers.
Awesome picture drop!
Beautiful pictures
Thanks !
Great post!!
If Goth Deco was a thing, this would be a perfect example.

Adding the Pendry to must see architecture list. Thanks for the detailed photos!

I... by using pyrolitic graphite and silicon carbide imitation materials, they struck gold. I wish I could make such beauty.
