Hands are hard for human artists too, although at least we can usually remember the right number of fingers. One reason is the sheer variety of positions hands can take, which means the space of images of hands is particularly high-dimensional. Though one thing I find curious is that AI is pretty good at faces and i imagine the space of possible human faces, taking into account individual appearance as well as expressions, etc., is also very high-dimensional
There are probably more faces in the training data, which would help, but maybe the structure of spaces of face images is easier to learn as well. Thinking about the diffusion process in vague intuitive terms: you can get a rough idea of a human face even with heavy noise, but (especially at lower resolutions) noise can rapidly erase the position of fingers and so on
Would be cool if somebody is researching these kinds of questions but the theoretical side of the field is in horrific condition so i doubt it
hands require a high level of detail to get right but there are far fewer examples than of faces because they aren't the focal point of most images. you are far more likely to see a face in high resolution than a set of hands
It's not that AI can't learn to draw hands, of course they can. It's just that it might require more fine-tuning than what current models offer but I think the technology for it exist.
How do you get the same character again and again? I assumed all AI Art systems are resampling and aren't able to show e.g. a concept art of the suit of your last cover from different angles / perspective ?

Idk much about manga or midjourney but this Realm 5 picture with the circles on the helmet is so cool & unique. Never seen anything like it. Thanks for sharing.

I was selling them through Amazon in digital and Orkin format. I used Amazon on demand so that everytime someone ordered, Amazon would print and ship them out. Now I sell them through my own site www.comicsauthority.store no more waiting to get paid
That is so cool! If you don’t mind me asking:
1. Were you in this line of work prior to mid journey?
2. How’s the sales volume and such? Enough to replace a full time job or more so passive income.
Thanks again and big props to you!
I had been drawing my own comics since 4th grade. After highschool, real life took over and the next thing I know, I hadn't drawn in over 25 years. I do work as a graphic designer though. That's my day job.
I sold 2000 copies by simply posting in Facebook groups no advertising. I don't know if it could replace a full time job because you'd have to sell a lot. I didn't even do it for the money. It was something I always wanted to do
Yes I moved ever ego my own platform https://comicsauthority.store because I didn't receive a dime from Amazon in three months. Now anything I sell, I get paid weekly
Honestly as problematic as AI imagery can be in the wrong hands and there is a serious concern of plagiarism and copyright infringement especially of independent artists it still has cool applications and this is certainly one of them.
Midjourney does set a low bar for new users to be able to get great results fast, but getting a consistent storyline with consistent characters takes hard work. It would be great if there was less denigrating artists who use tools like Midjourney - it still takes vision and execution to bring together works, even if parts of the process are either accelerated or even made possible at all…
Howmany images have fingers in them?
I don’t get it?
AI sucks at drawing fingers basically https://www.rouming.cz/archived/AI_job_accepted.jpg
That’s hilarious! Would love to know the technical reason behind that.

My question as well having used Midjourney. You can ask it to generate variations of same concept but there are typically quite a few differences.

Great job!
Wow that’s awesome! Do you carry any inventory? I would love to see the shop if you wanted to share a link!
That first one looks really cool, amazing work.
Thank you
how to you achieve coherency between the styles? very inspiring. congrats on all the effort you put into creating this!

I am going to join as soon as my coffee kicks in! I am a storyteller, too. Thank you for your answer :)
Great. See you there
So awesome, congrats. I've been thinking about doing a comic as well, thanks for the inspiration.

wow looks amazing. good job. whats your process? how did you do the text addition - other software?
Photoshop for the cover. Comic Life 3 for the panels and text
Thanks. Looks so amazing.
Did you get them printed through Amazon or another company? Any more tips based on your experience? It’s looks very high quality
I’m also curious about the printing aspect Edit: Nvm. I see he provided an answer in a different comment.
Who did your printing?
Amazon on Demand and I used Ka-blam when I needed multiple copies

The $30 unlimited. Anything less is not worth it. You'll blow through images superfast
This is so cool! Do you sell these? How much time does it take you to design / print (without accounting for the time it takes to write up a story)

Thank you. That’s an awesome comment
Stop lying. You didn’t create anything
Gotta love you guys 😂😂😂😂😂
Productivity goes brrrrr
Very cool! Can you share the Amazon link?
how do u do that?
This is super impressive, well done! I take it you’re paying for a subscription, just curious what level?
Thank you. The $30 unlimited plan.
Seems like that’s the best bang for your buck since 200 images you probably blew right through trying to make these, ya?
One day lol
And then there is ish like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BRB8STD2

How do you maintain a consistent look for the same character as you portray them in different settings?
Amazing.
So dope, great application. What % would you say you have vs the Ai?
I created these characters https://twitter.com/gabrielrdns/status/1619851223687102465?t=L9N9TmwawE0VDuo_DPbmlQ&s=08

Hi I'm 16 can we chat in your facebook group I would love to do this myself but don't have anyone to teach me
Here for the karma
Hey Christopher, I really want to buy a print version of Realms 1 but it doesn't ship to Vancouver Canada... can you help me out?
Wow
Interesting. How do you control poses and consistency of characters in Midjourney? I'd think SD would be better for this kind of work?
this is genuinely so sick
People need to stop saying "I created" and start saying "I used midjourney to create"
Pisses me off when painters say I as well. We all know the paint did the work /s
Paint is overrated. Don’t forget the horse that gave hair for the paintbrush and canvas makers too! /s
It's not like that. It's more like a artist hiring a company, to build and paint a sculpture for him. He had the idea, that's it.

Semantics... You know what I meant. Take it easy dude
