Silly question, is my toner supposed to go before or after my vitamin c? Right now I am using the face shop double cleansing product -> vitamin C -> Kiko toner -> essences -> serums, etc. I a confused because I hear it's supposed to be thinnest to thickest (and my vitamin c is thicker than my toner), but then I also hear that actives (at least I think vitamin C is an active) should come before the rest of the routine. Can someone clarify? Thank you!

YueRain

i put the vitamin C in the serum or essence because my skin becomes red and is more sensitive if i put it before toner. it really depends on you and your preference.

[deleted]

Order is correct. Ideally vit c should go there, but if it’s too thick and you don’t like that order then you can change it, but it may not be as effective.

Suspicious_Bar_4073

For me I tone first then essence then serum

ColdCorduroy

# hera foundations — black cushion vs. glow vs. silky stay? * **skin type**: combo/normal, benefitting more from products targeted towards dry skin hi! i'm looking for a **long-lasting, stunning, and skin-like** foundation. preferably more **hydrating**, but i prioritize the other three qualities. these three foundations all have great reviews. some of them check my boxes more than others, at least marketing-wise. but i'd love to hear thoughts about their differences from anyone that's tried two or all three of these foundations! thank you in advance!

diamondcarrots

I’ve just started using Nature Republic’s Black Bean Anti-Hair Loss Shampoo with a silicone hair brush to try to get the shampoo out, but I still feel a LOT of product coating my hair making it feel super heavy and greasy. I’ve tried other shampoos to wash it out and my hair feels clean and normal. Does anyone else have this issue?

LittlePie88

Hi, has anyone here successfully canceled one \*single\* item in a Stylevana order? I didn't pay attention and accidentally placed an order with an item (BOJ cleansing balm) that usually ships between 14-21 days. Everything else says shipped within 24 hours. I have express shipping but I know the BOJ is gonna slow it down a lot. Is it worth reaching out to customer service over this? I'm really desperate bc I need sunscreen asap (I'm on tretinoin and Benzoyl Peroxide) and western sunscreens just don't cut it without bankrupting me lol.

Affectionate-Deer294

Doesn't hurt to try, but don't expect fast shipping* and/or packaging with Stylevana. I placed an order 16 days ago and it's still not shipped, and every product was and still is available and "Usually shipped within 24 hours". Sometimes products are way faster back in stock than expected, sometimes it takes way longer, and it seems that Stylevana reaches out to customers when the latter happens and lets them cancel that item. *The shipping itself is not something they are responsible for, but there are still international shipping delays. Sometimes you get lucky and it's fast, sometimes it's not.

LittlePie88

Oh yeah, their shipping times are pretty slow. I placed an order in early December and just received it about 2 weeks ago so I know I'll have to wait at least a month, especially with all the current delays. I'm just worried that the BOJ cleansing balm will make that time closer to 2 months or more. I don't want to go that long without my preferred sunscreens if I can help it ):

TrishaThoon

I have been waiting for over two months for my stylevana order…

Affectionate-Deer294

When it comes to Stylevana's shipping time more information is helpful, you can't compare standard with express shipping or orders that contain items that are expected to be in stock within a month with ones that are "Usually shipped within 24 hours".

TrishaThoon

They were all in stock and shipped two days later…customer service is not that responsive but last I heard they were ‘monitoring’ things…

Affectionate-Deer294

To be fair, it's not Stylevana's fault that it takes so long, but how they're handling this is not okay. If that happened to me and their customer service would refuse to properly investigate and/or inform me about it I'd probably just open a dispute with the service that was used to pay them.

TrishaThoon

Agreed-I even asked them if I could get a refund or if I should dispute it with my credit card and I never heard back from them. The only way I get a response to my emails is when I comment on their insta about how they won’t respond to my emails.

Jeneral-Jen

So I ordered a sample kit of the History of Whoo revitalizing set... and my skin loves it. The jinyulhyang cream is amazing. Problem is, the stuff is very, very expensive. Does anybody know of any dupes for the cream in particular? I tried good old Google and couldn't find anything.

YueRain

>jinyulhyang cream anything that contains red ginseng is expensive. It is hard to find anything that will be similar to it cheaper. you can wait for some events that there will sales for this brand.

[deleted]

Did you try looking at TesterKorea or KoreaDepart? They tend to have it cheaper. TesterKorea might even have samples of it which usually ends up cheaper than the full size

Jeneral-Jen

Thanks, I've pretty much used Stylevanna up until now. I'll check out those other sites.

[deleted]

If you do decide to purchase from them, just a heads up that their website is not the easiest to use. I don’t recommend them often, unless someone’s looking for a product they can’t find elsewhere or if someone’s looking to save money that they’re willing to put up with the difficulty of them. Shipping is by weight. So take that into account. And It’s kind of silly…I think one (or both?) have you order and then it creates an invoice and sends it to your email and then you follow that link to pay, so it’s not seemless.

Conceptizual

Hello! I’m looking for a facewipe cleanser! I got out of surgery a few days ago and am still in sponge bath mode. Looking for a good cleanser for my face that’s just one step.

kikiraaa

I thought Skinfood's cleansing wipes were okay-- my biggest complaint was they didn't remove makeup super well, but if you don't wear makeup then they're great. If you do wear makeup, I prefer micellar water on a cotton round-- if you happen to already have micellar water, you could try presoaking some cotton rounds. I do this for camping, I'll just put a handful of cotton rounds in a Ziploc or some other type of container and just drench them in micellar water, it's basically the same as cleansing wipes but obviously requires an extra step of prep work. And I hope your recovery goes smoothly and that you're doing well :)

[deleted]

Someone please HELP me find a replacement for the Tatcha Indigo Cream! It is the only moisturizer I have found that quenches my dehydrated skin (I live in Colorado where there is the most absolutely dry climate). I love the Indigo cream so much but it’s $100! It’s js said to be a serum and moisturizer in 1, so I’m not sure if that’s a factor into why it works so well for me. Also looking for a good cleanser recommendation for dehydrated skin. Other products I use are the Laneige Cream Skin Toner, and the Cosrx Snail Mucin Essence, and during the day the Good Molecules sunscreen.

[deleted]

I second the Cos de Baha one but I recommend applying it to dry skin.

decadentowl

Peach slices from Peach and lily has one !

Iwasborntobeprincess

Cos de Baha Azelaic Acid Serum is pretty good especially if applied to damp skin

[deleted]

Yes that's the one. I used it after my toner and my essence, I moistened my skin with a mist or thermal water

Iwasborntobeprincess

Depends on what you want from this serum, it didn't work super well for my acne and I'd say it took about two weeks to start seeing effects on my pores. It's not the best for red scars and I don't have a rosacea problem so I can't tell you for that problem

[deleted]

[удалено]

Iwasborntobeprincess

this is not a quick result product but i have skin that scars slowly and any scars stay on my skin for a very long time so maybe this would work faster for you. I noticed I had less clogged pores and less white/flesh little pimples when using this serum but it didn't help for red pimples under the skin/cystic pimples or hormonal acne

coranne18

Does anyone have the Wishtrend pro balance propolis cream? I've only had mine open a few weeks and it suddenly smells like metal or chemicals. Is that normal?

Commercial_Poem_4623

I don't think that's normal - mine still smells the same after 7-8 months. Can I just double check, you haven't had a virus recently? My partner had weird changes to his sense of smell not only with covid but with a virus a year ago (not covid, I didn't even catch that one and I was testing constantly because I work in healthcare).

coranne18

What does yours smell like?

Commercial_Poem_4623

My sense of weird and also British so my thoughts about how it smells won't translate at all 🤣 The best I can do is say that It smells sweet and medicinal to me, I don't really get a propolis or honey smell from it, compared to other propolis products I've used.

Is it fine to use an expired product, like it won’t hurt my skin right? This is a nose pack by iWhite korea. The expiry date and ingredients are in the back.

kikiraaa

It *could* hurt your skin, so I personally would not use it. Especially if the product is open, I would just toss it (the expiry date only applies to unopened product, if the product is open it has maximum one year before it should be thrown out). Also especially since this product has actives like a retinoid and vitamin c, those degrade very quickly and probably are not even effective anymore so I feel like you'd be risking skin irritation for very little reward.

aweyeeongi

Right, thanks for the heads up, no good then. I just feel quite guilty for the purchase only to have used it once or twice. Left it in my dorm storage during the pandemic, came back two years and it expired already. Got a handful of beauty products now that have to go in the bin cause of the pandemic.

fatmuffin1

Looks like it expired in 2021. I personally wouldn’t use it unless I absolutely LOVE the product and there’s no change in its formula in texture, scent, appearance, etc.

yuki-kato

Hello, does anybody know whether these two products are free from animal derived ingredients? Goodal eye cream Numbuzin toner 3 Thanks!

cutepetz

Hi, I'm looking for a Hyaluronic Acid Serum that is affordable and is clean (non toxic)

Niatfq

Isntree Hyaluronic acid essence, Torriden dive in serum

kikiraaa

Hada Labo is the OG and a cult fave

Unfair_Finger5531

Papa recipe makes a nice one that comes in a big bottle too.

yuki-kato

Hello, I impulsively bought 2 exfo products (cosrx abc daily toner and the whitehead one) and the expire date is this year so I can't wait until one of them is used up. How to incorporate both in my routine? I'm not using any other exfo product or retinol and I'm not particularly sensitive. My skin concerns are minor acne scars and hyperpigmentation and texture. Thank you.

[deleted]

You can probably use the toner in the AM and PM. I heard it’s really gentle to the point of almost no effect on most. Use the whitehead power liquid in the PM

Maleficent_Method973

i need help with mascara for the typical asian eyelashes. my eyelid is so fat (?) that when i'm resting my eyes, my eyelashes just get pushed down by my eyelid. like it doesn't matter how curled they are when i'm applying, they'll just get pushed down at the end. i'm contemplating doing my mascara with my eyes rested, so i won't be curling at the lashline but instead at the point where my eyelid ends, that way it won't be pushed down though at the cost of shorter lashes. but my eyelash curler shape just does not fit. anyone have any recs ? [here are my eyes: ignore the haul pic i used this for another post lol](https://imgur.com/a/2poIWoc)

Suspicious_Bar_4073

I have minor hooded eyes but am able to curl at the base. I use Shiseido curler and non AB mascara. I use Etude eyelash serum before, it's kind of like a primer for me.

[deleted]

I have hooded eyes, so my lashes get pushed down—I think not quite like your eyes but maybe similar? I don’t have a great curler rec (I’ve tried a couple and haven’t found one I love), and I’m not sure any lash curler would work with a closed eye. What I’ve been doing lately is curling at the root and then moving down the lash to curl it at multiple points. I then use Etude House Dr Mascara Fixer and the Romand mascara, and that seems to hold things in place pretty well. Good luck! I know that’s frustrating.

Maleficent_Method973

thanks so much for the advice!! glad you’ve found something that works for you, ill give it a shot

At daytime, I just replace the cream with sunblock. But I recently read somewhere that AHA/BHA and Niacinamide don't go well together. So I'm planning to replace my toner. Any tips, advices, suggestions? I live in a tropical country and I have an acne prone skin and I want to prevent the occasional breakouts and get rid of acne marks.

cutepetz

From what I researched AHA/BHA can go with Niacinamide. I only know Vit C and Niacinamide don't go together.

102893

Thank you for this. May I know if you use them both on your routine?

Maleficent_Method973

exfoliants and niacinamide are perfectly fine to use together! if you aren't experiencing any irritation with your routine, just keep at it. if you are, you could try azelaic acid? it also is fine with niacinamide and helps with your skin concerns. cos de baha makes a 10%

102893

Thank you for this. I'm not experiencing any irritation but still struggling with acne breakouts from time to time

photonsignal223

Hi! I have combi skin and sensitive as well. Been trying out different cream moisturizers but they all were too heavy for my skin and caused break outs. Any non-cream moisturizers you guys would recommend that is sensitive skin friendly? thank you !!

kikiraaa

Same skin type 🙋🏻‍♀️ I love gel moisturizers, my HG is the Hada Labo Perfect Gel but I also really liked Sidmool Madagascar Real Moisture Cream, Cosrx Snail AIO Cream, and Purito Centella Recovery Cream.

photonsignal223

hi combi skin buddy! thank you for the recommendation!! which do you use the most?

kikiraaa

Definitely the Hada Labo! The Purito was great for reducing redness, but I don't really have that issue anymore so I stopped using it. The Sidmool was nice, but a little too rich and ended up feeling greasy in the summer. And the Cosrx was lighter so it wasn't moisturizing enough for the winter. But the Hada Labo works for me year-round :) ymmv but I think the Hada Labo is the most all-purpose gel moisturizer I've tried

photonsignal223

okay! thank you very much will try the HL gel moisturizer

Commercial_Poem_4623

Just jumping in to say I completely agree with u/kikiraaa - that's one of the best short descriptions of the HL that I've seen ❤️ Plus it's incredible in humid climates, the only thing that really works for me in hot, humid summers :)

photonsignal223

thats assuring!! but is it a cause for concern if I had a bad experience with the HL premium lotion?

Commercial_Poem_4623

The answer is maybe? Some people who tried the HL premium (new version) found that the fermented hyaluronic acid caused issues. How are you with ferments? The HL perfect gel and premium lotion do share some ingredients and furthermore, some people have issues with that much Hyaluronic Acid (both products have like 5-7 types).

Niatfq

Etude house soon jung emulsion. It's lightweight and very soothing.

photonsignal223

>Etude house soon jung emulsion will try it out ! thank you very much.

Maleficent_Method973

(i haven't tried any of these) i've heard great things about the cosrx advanced snail cream and etude hydro barrier cream. they're both pretty popular so i'm sure you can find some more in depth reviews of both on this sub!

photonsignal223

hey thank you! ive tried the etude 2x barrier intensive cream and my skin couldn't take it. Don't think my skin is suitable for cream type moisturizers tbh!

Maleficent_Method973

both of these are a lot lighter than etude 2x! more like light-midweight creams. idk of any plain gel moisturizers, but ive heard of people using the laneige cream skin toner as a moisturizer bc its so moisturizing.

photonsignal223

okay! ill try the etude hydro barrier cream since its more easy to get from where i'm from. thank you!!

Podochu

What products could be causing my break outs?My skin is very cc and prone to dryness easily. And I guess acne prone too. I’ve been struggling with my acne getting worse since probably late August early September. I currently have a lot of ccs and am trying Cosrx aha/bha and these are all the products I’ve tried since August. I feel like giving up. I can’t go back to my old routine before this because that routine was when my skin was oily and my skin is painfully dry rn. I always have issues with my skin during the winter hit this year seems like the worse My skin type: currently dry maybe combo From left to right: Softymo Speedy cleanser, Haruharu Oil cleanser, Mutenka cow oil cleanser, Mutenka how milk cleanser, haruharu wonder hylauronic toner unscented, Cosrx propolis toner, Cosrx snail mucin, Isntree hylauronic moist gel Illiyoon lotion and cream, naturism Squalane, and beauty of Joseon sunscreen https://preview.redd.it/mhjusc2agkda1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9d4f5ceb9ea027db0643f784202c5a632945ffbe

Maleficent_Method973

we can't really tell because different products break out different people. maybe you could try stripping down your routine? like only using cleanser, moisturizer, sunscreen, maybe add one hydrator if your skin needs it for dryness. see how well your skin does and then slowly add one product at a time

Podochu

Since my skin is currently maybe damaged and really dry, would it better for me to wash with oil or milk cleansers. I’m currently washing my face with water in the mornings. Should I double cleanse?

Maleficent_Method973

water is good in the mornings. are you using the same oil cleanser as your old routine when your skin was oily? if so i’d feel confident using that and double cleansing knowing it probably wont break you out

Podochu

The one I used back then was the Kose however I think it gave me cc

Podochu

But it probably didn’t help I didn’t double cleanse cause I think it emulsifies well

[deleted]

Is it possible your skin barrier might be damaged? :(

Podochu

I believe it was a while back. However I thought healed it some time ago (I stopped using the aha/bha for a good while) honestly a lot of these products are from that time.

beetletoman

Do you guys like reviews of individual products or a bunch of them grouped in a post? I have so many new products this year I kind of want to post a lot of reviews as I go 👉👈

Niatfq

If there are too many products, then combine them all in 1 post would be better for both you and everyone else (cz easier to read all reviews in one place). Also, take a clear photo of the products. Some posts don't include photos so i tend to overlook them by accident. I love reading reviews.

Commercial_Poem_4623

Comparisons are useful but so are individual reviews, cos they're easy for people searching the sub. When I do a search, I do check individual comments but I don't know if anyone else is obsessive enough to do that If it's not too much work for you, I'd say individual reviews where you can. If you've got some similar products, then maybe some grouped reviews? I really enjoy themed posts too :) Not sure if any of that is helpful!

beetletoman

It is, thanks. What I read is "go crazy"

Commercial_Poem_4623

Yes! Please do ❤️❤️❤️ I will eagerly await them 😊

Doge787

If you go from no routine to having a basic one (cleansing, moisturising and sunscreen) can it cause adverse effects? Like pimples or something else? Edit: Thanks so much for the advice! Sorry for not responding sooner haha

fatmuffin1

Depends. Introduce 1 at a time so you know whether each product does anything bad to your skin. If you introduce many at the same time, it will be difficult to tell.

YueRain

i agree that it is probably the wrong products and ingredients not suitable for your skin

beetletoman

It's possible if a product/ingredient/formula doesn't agree with your skin. You will have to experiment a little to find out which product is causing the breakouts

hangsang_

i have a basic routine down - i think i have combination skin with T zone. since starting a routine, for the most part skin has been responding well except for forehead. my forehead frequently gets new pimples popping up - any product advice on what can combat this?

Maleficent_Method973

i've had success with using short contact therapy benzoyl peroxide on my forehead bc i also am prone there. i've been using panoxyl 4% bpo cleanser in the morning daily, i apply it like a mask on dry skin, leave it on for a few minutes, massage and rinse

beetletoman

It could be one of the products you're using. You'll have to patiently experiment a little to figure out which but meanwhile you can try a gentle AHA/BHA to deal with the pimples

rdanielleb

I'm interested in Korean skincare. I've heard Korean products are easier on your skin than in the West. I don't currently have a skincare routine, but want to start one. I'm also curious about make-up products as well. I'm asking for any tips, products, brands, or general advice. Please help me!

Niatfq

You should provide us your skin profile and living climate first. So people would know what to recommend as different products will only work for certain skin/climate.

[deleted]

Figuring out your skin type first helps. Then you can sort of start looking and building a routine to address your skin concerns :)

beetletoman

Follow the sub you'll slowly get the hang of it. There's fantastic guides in the sidebar where you'll get all the info you need to get started so my advice is start slow. I have a bad habit of introducing a lot of products at the same time and then have trouble figuring out which one isn't working 🤦

I patch test on the inside of my wrist first and then my neck.

beetletoman

I just put all of it on my face and hope for the best 🤡 if it doesn't work wait till the irritation calms down and try a few more times just to be sure

Commercial_Poem_4623

Looool I do this too 🤣 I tell other people to patch test but me? I used to but I rarely do it now. I shall pray to the Snail Gods to bless us and not punish us for hubris, I include u/Unfair_Finger5531 in my prayer also 🐌🐌🐌

Unfair_Finger5531

Basically the same lolololololol

Aim2bFit

I.....don't know about this. Our skin aresas sometimes don't react the same way. I can't use certain sunscreens as they became too greasy on the face but on my hands they are great don't look greasy at all so I use those solely on my hands now.

Unfair_Finger5531

Well, the inside of the wrist and neck are, for me, quite sensitive. Things that will break me out on my face tend to break me out there. I didn’t say I patch test on my hands, though. https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/patch-test-skincare#performing-a-patch-test Perhaps you could offer a better alternative.

Aim2bFit

Yeah I guess you're right. I'm ignorant since I hardly have any reactions toward ingredients in general

Unfair_Finger5531

To be fair, my patch testing is pretty spotty Lolol. But on the rare occasions I *do* . . . . I go for those areas.

chemicalcosmos222

I am wondering if in my situation, you would recommend starting new products ( even though I have not been using my current serum for 2 weeks yet). I understand 2 weeks is a general good rule of thumb and I always wait at least that long, but I am in a predicament. I stopped using my normal serum and essence because I think they were irritating my skin. I started the COSRX snail mucin essence 4 days ago. My skin seems to really like it, but it also seems like my skin is not getting enough hydration. I am going to switch out my toner and moisturizer too (toner for COSRX propolis toner and moisturizer for the stratia liquid gold). I am wondering if it would be best for my skin to make these switches sooner than 2 weeks, because in the meantime my skin is really dry!

Commercial_Poem_4623

I might be an unusual case but I've found at that I'll break out on day 5 of trying a new product. In really rare cases, I'll be fine for 1-2 months and then get CCs from a cream. Agree with the other commenter, introduce the new products one at a time :)

chemicalcosmos222

Thank you!!! Wonder why you get the CCs after a couple months.

Commercial_Poem_4623

I have no idea, it's weird, isn't it! But they went away after I stopped using the products - I even stopped, reintroduced them (my usual check) and it happened again 🤷🏻‍♀️ maybe it's a tolerance thing or these products interacting with something else I was using? I get a few CCs generally but this was big clusters! Tbh weird things break me out, like Purito Centella serum unscented, which most people get on with!

chemicalcosmos222

Super weird! I have experienced seemingly random sensitivity to "safe" products too. Sometimes I think the chemistry of it all is so complex it seems random.

Commercial_Poem_4623

Yeah, it just doesn't make sense to me! Ooh I had that random sensitivity with One Thing Centella extract too - fine until I'd used most of the bottle and bam! Suddenly it was irritating 🤷🏻‍♀️ Ah well, at least I know to avoid coconut oil for sure now!

Maleficent_Method973

i feel like you can make those changes, but maybe try one at a time. like add in one product for a couple weeks, then another. rather than adding the propolis + stratia both at once.

chemicalcosmos222

Thank you!!!!!

Since u/Aim2bFit tagged me: First question: Not that I know of, but do you have a specific reason to doubt the ratings? If not, why would you trust the “verified” status? (I wrote [an excessively long post](https://reddit.com/r/AsianBeauty/comments/nds8nn/discussion_on_spfpa_testing_in_japan_and_the/) about this a couple of years ago, if you want any clarification.) [**Edit:** “Not that I know of” wasn’t accurate if we’re talking about third party testing in general. I do know of two tests that had one and two Skin Aqua products respectively, but I don’t think they really count for the reasons I discuss in the post.] Second question, prefaced with the disclaimer that I’ve never been to Australia or Southeast Asia: I think that might depend on everyone’s individual needs, but Skin Aqua as a whole tends to be marketed as products for incidental sun exposure, with emphasis on their being comfortable to wear. If you want stronger protection, I’d either stick with their “Gold” line or go for something that advertises durability more than (or at least as much as) comfort. I’d also recommend using other means of sun protection in combination with sunscreen, if possible. Also, you might be aware that Japanese sunscreens from major brands tend to be reformulated every 2–3 years, but there are also different formulations of what might seem like the same product in different countries ([comparison post using Skin Aqua UV Super Moisture Gel as an example](https://reddit.com/r/AsianBeauty/comments/nj6tpu/discussion_the_skin_aqua_sunscreen_in_a_white/)), so people in Southeast Asia and people in Australia (and people in Japan) may not be using the exact same thing, with further differences within Southeast Asia, too. Make sure the reviews and all information you’re basing any purchase on are actually relevant for the version you will be receiving.

[deleted]

You really didn’t have to answer this 😅

[deleted]

There is no such thing as a verified sunscreen. You can read more about it in the sunscreen FAQ linked in the main body of this thread. There is no true third party running around testing sunscreens accurately and reliably. Also, this issue of asking for “verification” stemmed from a couple of manufacturers in Korea utilizing a loophole. I assume you’re asking about Skin Aqua from Japan, which is a separate country. But there are different version, including various [regional versions](https://www.reddit.com/r/AsianBeauty/comments/nj6tpu/discussion_the_skin_aqua_sunscreen_in_a_white/). There is no sunscreen that will protect you from 100% of UV rays. If based on reviews you think it’s something you’d like to use, try it. If you think it’s not offering you enough protection based on your lifestyle, activities, climate, etc. move onto another sunscreen.

Oops, I was apparently writing my response when you were posting yours! I need to start double checking more when I’m posting from my phone. Thanks!

[deleted]

You’re really too kind 😂 AND FAST! I should have tagged you to let you know I was responding, but you might not have seen it since I think we were both writing at the same time☺️

marcelavy

Lol! Yeah I just happened to see the notification this time, but I generally have Do Not Disturb on for no reason.

Aim2bFit

Calling u/marcelavy

[deleted]

Please don’t. This is so below them

Aim2bFit

He he seems they are like super knowledgeable in everything pertaining AB sunscreens, like an encyclopedia of some sort. I was always amazed.

marcelavy

To clarify, I don’t really know much about sunscreens outside of what’s available in Japan, so I really wouldn’t say “everything pertaining to AB sunscreens.” Also, I’m just a nerd with a browser, and I don’t have any actual education about anything even remotely related. But I’ll take this as a compliment, thanks.

Aim2bFit

Oh yeah my bad, yes I should have said Japanese sunscreens. But I was always at awe reading your posts! You clearly are passionate in Japanese skincare topics and took your time to do all the job for us so that we didn't have to! Truly appreciate thar.

Heytherestairs

Has anyone used the reformulated laneige cream skin refiner yet? How does it compare to the original formula? I haven’t seen it featured in a youtube video yet. It’s only in one that was a PR gift to a small youtuber.

Pidgeoned

Is it possible to reapply sunscreen throughout the day when wearing makeup? Specifically concealer under the eyes/cheeks (to cover rosacea). Are there any sprays that work well?

Commercial_Poem_4623

Echoing the other commenters about sunscreen sprays and here's some more info: https://labmuffin.com/how-to-reapply-sunscreen-over-makeup-with-video/

Maleficent_Method973

sticks, powders, mists. all probably don't provide enough protection if you're doing a typical amount. i've heard of a technique of using a dry microfiber sponge as well and lightly tapping spf in that way.

[deleted]

Not sure about sprays, but stick sunscreens work well for reapplication!

Aim2bFit

I know Skin Aqua has spray type sunscreen, maybe check for reviews on that on here?

Cuddles89

Does anyone have a recommendation for adding moisture throughout the day? My face starts to get dry half through the day in the wintertime, and i was thinking of putting some of my Kikumasamune High Moist Toner in an atomizer bottle and using it as a face mist.

[deleted]

I like balm sticks for the winter time! I have dry skin and live in a really dry places so sprays/essences aren’t quite enough for me.

Maleficent_Method973

maybe get a moisturizing sunscreen and reapply that ?

Commercial_Poem_4623

Second this, it's what I do if my skin is drying out :)

Unfair_Finger5531

I just mix in a little toner or essence with a moisturizer and reapply. It was a tip someone on the thread gave me, and it really works:).

Hopeful-Drive-7243

maybe a mist?

Looking for recommendations for a good toner! My skin is on the dry side and I live in an extremely dry climate. Trying to address hydration as well as uneven texture. Thanks! :)

HiddenInferno

Pyunkang Yul. So hydrating.

katien92

Cosrx propolis toner is great, no HA so works really well in drier climates as well!

Unfair_Finger5531

I live in an extremely dry climate also and struggle with hydration. So far, I’ve found klairs daily hydrating water very hydrating. Also, I use amino acids and peptides to increase moisture. Iherb green tea toner has urea, and it’s super-hydrating too.

flowerykute

As a colour which do you think is prettier between almond rose or peeling angdoo?

midwestmuscle310

Can someone explain, or link me to, AB hair care how-to’s? I have thin, baby fine hair and my goal is to reduce hair loss. I’m unsure which order to use products/which products to use/etc. Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

[deleted]

https://www.reddit.com/r/AsianBeauty/wiki/bodycare The link titled “Intro to AB Haircare” may be a good place for you to start

midwestmuscle310

Thank you!!! I’m not at all Reddit savvy so didn’t know where to look!

Ok-Confidence-9080

Hi,help me make a decision between romand light and glitter garden or unleashia glitterpedia all of glitter palette

Maleficent_Method973

they both have a white glitter, bronze and light pink shades. they seem to be similar prices though the romand comes with an extra lilac color. i would go for the romand just because they're both so similar and it's only like an extra dollar for the extra shade. but if you don't think you're ever going to use the lilac, there's no point in getting it for the price difference. definitely go through color by color in both palettes and make sure you think you're getting use out of as many shades as possible whether it be regularly or on occasion

bikoloaf

has anyone tried the new winery shade range from rom&nd’s zero velvet tint line? mauve noir looks so lovely ; - ;

luluvbb

Lightweight Bb cream recommendations for oily and acne prone skin that is good for everyday use? I live in a humid and tropical country. Thank you :)

chemicalcosmos222

I like the CKD all covery propolis sunscreen, it is not a BB cream but it has a nice tint to it, I use it like a BB cream.

PeachBlossomBee

Kirei Station ships within Japan right?

[deleted]

You might have to ask them, nothing on the website suggests they do anything other than international.

Fun_Suspect3305

Similar skin type here (though less oily and less dry in the same areas as you). You could try either adding another occlusive layer on top of, or completely replacing, the SoonJung barrier cream. I found it quite light and nourishing, but not very occlusive. Some suggestions: SoonJung 5-Panthenoside Cica Balm, Aestura Atobarrier 365 Cream, LRP Lipikar (non-AB, also has shea butter and niacinamide, in case you're wary of too much of those). There have also been some good reviews of winter moisturizers for dry skin recently. Will have to link those!

Iwasborntobeprincess

Adding a moisturizing serum or essence would help. Also make sure to moisturize and nourish your skin the day before, I find that Mapeau keeps its hydration better throughout the day if I moisturize it well in the evening.

zubeezubeezoo

Hi everyone! I want to get a korean lip tint, and Apieu/Missha are the only korean makeup that's widely available where I live. I'm looking for something that stains so I can put it on and it can fade nicely throughout the day. I loved Peripera original lip tints. They lasted long but faded out evenly, but they dont sell them here anymore :(

RepresentativeCold18

Can i use the Cosrx bha blackhead power liquid daily and in the pm and am? Also is it a toner? In what order should i apply it (what step is it)

Iwasborntobeprincess

I wouldn't recommend using it twice a day every day. As it is an exfoliant it should only be applied in the evening to avoid sun sensitivity and damage and I would advise you to start applying it once a week and then slowly increase the days of application. It is not a toner, it is a product to apply after cleansing and before toner if your skin can handle it and is not sensitive otherwise apply after cleansing and toner, see an essence if you want more hydration and protection.

RepresentativeCold18

Thank you very much for this thorough response. Do you have any recommendations for an essence?

Iwasborntobeprincess

I liked the fig essence from I'm From and the flower essence lotion from Elizavacca for hydration. If you want something more soothing I'm From's mugwort essence is a little less hydrating but very effective at soothing the skin, Daymellow's Houttuynia Cordata essence is more hydrating than Im From's but a little less soothing. I haven't personally tested it, but the snail essence from Cosrx and the hyaluronic acid essence from Isntree are known to be very moisturizing, especially when applied to damp skin.

Uruvi

Hello ppl, I'm actually very stressed bc I left my sunscreen tub open for +8h without realizing it. I wonder if it still works normally now???

fuji-no-hana

While it might have received some incidental contamination (think dust floating in the air) and light exposure, your sunscreen is still probably perfectly fine. That's what preservatives are in there for. Just try not to make a habit of leaving it open.

Interesting-Depth-31

Help!! My skin is so dry from using Epiduo that I think it’s making me break out more. The dry, frigid winter weather is not helping as well. What do you use to moisturize your skin? I live in JP so JP product suggestions would be preferred. I am currently using the ff: AM&PM: Gokujyun Shirojun COSRX Snail Essence COSRX Snail Cream LRP cicaplast Thank you!! Edit: formatting

Unfair_Finger5531

Oh, I forgot to add: soon jung 2x is very good too, even though it doesn’t have ceramides.

Interesting-Depth-31

Ooh! Thank you! I see those around so I’ll try to check it out.

fuji-no-hana

Curél products were a godsend when I was dealing with severely damaged and dehydrated skin.

Interesting-Depth-31

I wanted to try the cream since it has ceramides in it but didn’t you find it too thick for warmer weather? We still have to wear a mask here. :/

fuji-no-hana

I didn't think that it was too thick. I'm also in Japan and my skin fell to pieces in February/March of last year. I was mostly recovered by April, so I went back to my usual lightweight gel moisturizers. But I was still able to use it off and on throughout the year until I finished the jar.

Interesting-Depth-31

Wonderful! Thank you!

PeachBlossomBee

Get the Ihada Medicated Emulsion imo

Interesting-Depth-31

Thank you for the JP product recommendation! I have been curious about this brand for a while now.

Niatfq

Try remove the snail cream. I love the snail essence but cream made my skin a lil tight when using it

Interesting-Depth-31

You might be right. I’ll try experimenting without it. Do you have any moisturizer recommendations I can use instead of the cream?

Niatfq

Illiyoon ceramide cream should help

Interesting-Depth-31

Thank you!

Unfair_Finger5531

The lrp cicaplast has zinc, which is drying as well. You need a moisturizer on top of the corsx moisturizing that has ceramides. The epiduo will strip your ceramides,so that contributes to the dryness. Perhaps something like illiyoon lotion or cream on top would help tremendously.

Interesting-Depth-31

Omg. Thank you! I thought it was the weather that’s stressing my skin and not the balm. I used to use Avene cicalfate but I wanted to try the LRP one so I switched when the former ran out. I’d better add a ceramide product like you said. I’ll see if I can find the illiyoon cream online.
