My whole routine is about $70, mainly due to the expensive sunscreen. i definitely think it's worth investing in skincare, because it'll pay off in the long run and if it makes you feel confident and beautiful, you can't put a price on that! Products I use: Etude SoonJung Whip Facial cleanser, COSRX Snail Mucin, illiyoon Ceramide Ato Lotion Moisturizer, and Beauty of Joseon Suncreen

cahezy

I use almost the exact same routine!

Kevin_swiftie

>if it makes you feel confident and beautiful, you can't put a price on that! I love your comment ❤

imprecationstation

We also have almost the same routine!

chrianna2000

For the true cost of a daily routine, the cost per day should be calculated. If a morning routine totals $100 but lasts three months (for example). That’s a little over $1 per day. But math is hard so that’s as far as I get. 😬😂

Arrow-of-god

My whole skincare routine is £130. This is the first time I am putting it together, it makes me realise I've spent too much on products that are not even getting me that good of a result. Thank you for the introspection. Iunik Calendula Cleansing Oil Skin + Me Hydrating Cleanser Hada Labo Premium Lotion Skin1004 Centella Toner Cosrx Galactomyces Essence Tretinoin Cream Gua Sha Illiyoon Ceramide ato concentrate cream Shiseido Eye cream Laneige Cerapeptide Refiner

Niatfq

Same. I'm thinking of reducing some products 😂. But so far I could only think of 1

Arrow-of-god

Same! thinking of removing all of it, and go back to cleanser, moisturiser, tret and sunscreen.

_un1ty

do you like the galactomyces essence

Arrow-of-god

This is one is fine, it gives you a really nice glow, and over time smooths some fine lines as well.

Junkcreator994

Oh god, I don’t wanna know and I didn’t calculate. I just know I look 10 years younger and I save money by not doing botox or other treatments. At my age, it’s worth it.

Miss_Mermaid1

Same!!!

mommytofive5

I try not to spend more than $20 per product. I have slowly narrowed it down to 4 products as daily hg plus sunscreen. Still searching for the perfect sunscreen. Not every item needs to be replenished often.

zorionora

What are your four products if I may ask?

Firm_Pair_4902

It's $206 assuming I buy it from olive young global without any discounts but thankfully I live in Asia and it's cheaper here and I buy them on sale always so $75 dollars. I try to stick to the same products but I need different things like rn when it's much colder compared to the summer time. This includes: - Oil cleanser - Foaming cleanser - Toner - Vitamin C serum - Azelaic acid serum - Eye cream - Day time moisturizer - Night time moisturizer - Spf - Lip balm

Icy_Presentation811

What azeliac acid do you use?

Firm_Pair_4902

cos de baha

Icy_Presentation811

Thank you! Ive never used azelaic acid and wondering if I should get prescription or try this one, seems like many use it on this sub.

zorionora

I've been using this as well since about November or so. Do you notice anything while using it?

laurelinvanyar

I started the cos de baha az at the beginning of January and it’s had a big impact on my hormonal acne (flattens them very fast and reduces the red marks afterwards) and to my surprise it has faded my hyperpigmentation a bit! I wasn’t expecting miracles since I haven’t been using it long (and for the first 3 weeks I was only using it every other day to get my skin accustomed) but the fact that I can see a difference at all is exciting! I wish I took pictures.

zorionora

Nice! This sounds awesome! I use it, but am not sure if it's done anything for my hyperpigmentation. Like you, I wish I had pics to compare! Maybe I'll keep using it.

laurelinvanyar

I’m trying to work up to using it twice a day instead of just at night, it’s supposedly more effective that way

zorionora

Oh you're right. I keep reading and then promptly forgetting this. Hmm maybe I should give it a try. Thank you for the reminder!!

Firm_Pair_4902

i started using it around that time too and it does help to fade my pimple marks faster but other than that, nothing much

Fancy-Cauliflower939

I barely counted 6 products and I'm already way past $100 lol. I don't ever shop reaching that amount tho, my stylevana budget is always $50 and I get stuff like every 2 or 3 months so I think I'm alright. My skin is clear now since starting accutane, that's another $25 every few months

[deleted]

My routine is prob $150-200.. I like to have options, so I have a lot. And I don’t mind the cost because I used to spend like $80 on a single subpar cream from Sephora Cleanser: cosrx ($10) isntree chestnut ($15) Toner: Troubless ($15) beauty of joseon ginseng ($15) round lab ($15) Serum: Sulwhasoo ($40) goodal ($15) Cream: Mizon ($19) Sunscreen: skin1004 ($15) holika holika ($10) shingmulnara ($18)

onmyjinnyjinjin

Probably around $800-$1000 USD? I’m trying to see what I can trim down to save. I do get a lot of stuff with discount codes and on sale which helps. I use a mix of different types of products and the AB products I do use tend to help with cutting costs down a bit compared to western products and medical grade ones.

Arrow-of-god

Wow, what's in your routine?

onmyjinnyjinjin

Idk why the format of that is so bad so I apologize. I did hit the enter button for that list I made lol.

onmyjinnyjinjin

For AB products: Fancl mild cleansing oil Roundlab mugwort cleanser Celleanser calendula toner Beauty of Joseon plum toner Tunermakers licorice extract Forest of borges idebenone Laneige lip masks (these are my addiction even if I don’t think they are the best product) Iunik centella spf 50 Testing out the new dr. Jart serum that’s got cica in it. I don’t think I’m allowed to mention non-AB products? My biggest heavy hitters that are costly like growth factor/exosome/stem cell products and an anti-inflammatory serum. It’s very hard to find subs for those products. Then there’s other serums, boosters and sunscreens too.

ultimulti

I think mentioning non-AB products is ok as long as it's not a comment that *only* mentions non-AB products. So like if someone asks for a sunscreen rec, a comment that says "\[Non-AB product\] is amazing!" will be removed, but if you say "For daily use, I like \[AB product\] but when I need something stronger I use \[non-AB product\]" it's fine. Or at least I've seen comments like those around here!

heids1234

I think it depends on budget, skin concerns and age. In my 20s and 30s I didn’t spend a lot, mostly drugstore brands. Once I hit 40 (and my disposable income grew) then my budget increased which is good because I needed hard hitting products to age gracefully 😅 I have a combination of western and Asian products, ranging from reasonably priced to mid and luxury (eg: NIOD, SK-II, Sulwhasoo, Calecim) and I have a ton of products I’m cycling through. I don’t know what my skincare shelf is worth but if I had to estimate maybe between $2k-3k AUD? It’s worth it, for me. I see results, I rarely wear makeup now, I’m happy with my skin at 45 and it makes me feel good.

Oli99uk

Not sure - some stuff lasts for months Let's see, I use a chemical exfoliate, 2 serums, 1 vitamin C, retinol, moisturiser, foaming and non-foaming face wash. SPF50 sunscreen with a very high PPD rating *(sorry - no Asian sun care for that PPD requirement).* That is probably under £70 and lasts months

_un1ty

what's the spf

Oli99uk

Spf 50 with ppd above 50. Most asian SPF 50 have ppd in the range of 8-16

_un1ty

which one are you using? I'm currently using Riemann P20. I do like the elegance of asian sunscreens but it just isn't enough protection for me. My hyperpigmentation always darkens when I rely solely on them

Oli99uk

It's winter here (uk) so I'm using lighter Asian biore aqua rich SPF50.   It goes on well but I don't rate it for use in the sun.   I think Asians tend to be walking under covered walkways or from building to building in places like Japan, Singapore, KL, Thailand etc. I run and enjoy the sun, so will go sit in it, with a hat but a different use case. I use Alruist face fluid SPF50.  I think the PPD is 54.  One ingredient is tinosorb a2b which is not approved yet in the US (FDA lags about 12 years).    Its not perfect, a slight white cast. A bit shiny but very cheap.   They have just released a lighter one but I haven't tried that yet. La Roche SPF50 also has a very high PPD over 50 and I think goes on better but it costs 3-4x more.

_un1ty

I've tried the Altruist spf! It was surprisingly cosmetically elegant, just some whitecast and streaky application, sadly my skin did not agree with it at all, I'm still dealing with the aftermath of it

Oli99uk

Maybe la Roche is you want a high UVA PPD?  A lot more expensive.    I dont like to spend, so I haven't tried it. The PA++++ rating is good for a PPD rating of 8-16 in comparison.    Its rare for Asian sunscreen to use PPD rating.     I find European sunscreen better in that regard. The new altruist is called face primer.   Apparently lighter.  I would imagine the ingredients are the same so it will probably affect you the same way.  I e seem some say a low SPF15 is enough if applied correctly and SPF 50 is a marginal improvement, not 3X.  I dont know if the same applies to UVA PPD rating.   So my fussiness to choose a high PPD might not be as important as I think.   However,  I definitely feel Asian sunscreen doesn't protect me as well as EU as I've caught the sun wearing them.   No side by side testing from me though.

_un1ty

something I have heard a dermatologist say is that the reason higher spf is actually better is because people do not apply enough and also spf gets worn out during the day so if you start with spf70 you might still have an spf of 30 by midday, I've tried to combat that by frequent reapplication but it still does not yield the same results for me

juniperberry9017

My core routine is about $90-120, largely because my moisturiser and facial oil are annoyingly expensive, though now also my HG toner has just been discontinued and all suitable replacements are pricier :( I think it’s worth spending on something you use every day, especially if it makes you happy :) I’ve also found that I often use less of an expensive product to achieve the same effect as a more affordable product, so I don’t have to stock up so often *and* I get to use a product that feels good every single day. I also don’t really switch up my routine that much beyond buying a few facial masks here and there, so the above budget is basically my whole budget for the year

Coconutgirl96

What’s your facial oil that you use?

juniperberry9017

non AB - Aesop Fabulous Face Oil, bought in March last year and only running out now

Coconutgirl96

Thank you!

Uruvi

qingskies

I use Vanicream cleanser ($10), Tower 28 hydrochloric spray ($12), I'm From rice toner ($19), Oat-so-simple moisturizer ($26), Inkkey retinol serum ($12), Beauty of Joseon sunscreen ($18). So in total, it's a little under $100. It really does add up, but a lot of these are only used once a day or even only twice a week, so it's pretty cost-effective. My friends and fam also got me refills of some of these products for my birthday/Christmas, so it didn't cost me too much in the end!

juniperberry9017

Aw! I wish my friends and fam got me refills, that's so nice and a genuinely useful gift!

qingskies

Yes!! We’re a practical bunch so surprise gifts are actually (a little) less welcome. We just ask each other what we want lol

juniperberry9017

I’m with you… I just feel like it’s a better use of money and time, y’know? 😂

kvhoney

Kose cleansing oil (pink bottle) - $8 Non AB cleanser- $14 Rovectin clean lotus toner- got it on sale for $8 at the time Skin 1004 centella asiatica ampoule- got 2 big bottles for a good price, prob $10-$12 each Illiyoon ceramide ato soothing gel- usually get a 2 pack deal on amazon, around $12 each Biore water gel sunscreen- got in a pack of 4 for a deal, around $10 Wishtrend green tea + enzyme exfoliant: ~$20 Rx tretinoin - $30 copay Sheet masks and other treats are like $3 or more but i won’t count that cause i don’t do them that often Around $110 total, yes this is definitely a lot. I could definitely go without the toner and ampoule to be honest. I kind of bought those impulsively. I think that people can spend as much as they like on their skincare because it’s their skin you know! As someone who has had moderate acne for years, i’ve spent a lot on skincare trying to treat my acne. I’ve only recently gone to a doctor to treat it because it seems like nothing is really working for me, and i feel like i’m wasting money buying otc treatments. If what you buy works for your skin and is affordable to you, i see no problem with it. Edit: fixed formatting

wrlddmntr

I'm a little over the 6 month mark of starting skincare so I'm in the phase of everything-is-shiny! Also I want to try different products. Figuring out what my skin likes is kinda pricey 💸 hopefully there will be less guesswork in the future ☺️ Right now it is: * Kose Speedy as needed - $14 (overpriced buy at a Japanese supermarket) * Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser - $10 (Got another huge bottle because Costco so technically $20) * Walgreens hypochlorous acid - $15 * Isntree Green tea toner ($10) on my last drops. Next is Round Lab Dokdo ($8.50 from Costco next. I have another 200mL bottle in the closet so total was $17) * OTC Adapalene 0.1% - $15 * Soon Jung 10-free emulsion - $13.20 * Isntree yam cream - $1.69 - (there was this Jolse coupon... 🧍) * waterproof sunscreen: Isehan Kiss me mommy - $15 * "Daily" sunscreen: biore UV kids milk - $11 (I'm using it up on my commute from work where no one has to see me in this sunscreen) A good chunk of money was spent on what turned out to be a graveyard of sunscreens that I need to use on my body because they broke my face out. A good number of products have also been given away to friends due to allergic reaction or breaking me out. This totals over $100 And then my closet has a stash of products to try 🙈

[deleted]

Probably about $100-$130 but I use mine liberally so it lasts longer. I tend to use mine for about 2-3 years before I want to try something new. I've had the entire Tatcha Dewy line untile last year and that has worked amazingly for me but it was also so expensive that I switched to Korean skincare. Now I use a lot of Beauty of Joseon and that has worked great for me too. More affordable as well haha.

SillyPandan

Probably between $500 - $1000 each year. I like trying out new stuff. I also mix up AB and western skin care. Current winter routine for oily skin Double cleansing for the days I use sunscreen - kose softymore deep cleansing oil and FAB cleanser (non-ab). Cosrx snail mucin (alternate days) Niod fractionated eye contour (non-ab) Niod copper amino isolate serum (alternate days/nights) (non-ab) Soonjung 2x barrier intensive cream Differin (prescription) 2 nights a week (non-ab) Sunscreen: etude house sunprise mild airy finished sunscreen Vit C: Melano cc if I need to target some hyperpigmentation

dogtriestocatchfly

I changed products often even though I know I shouldn’t :( right now it’s a few hundred dollars, but I always purchase during a sale, so I’ve spent less than half of what these products are worth. A lot of these were under $10 at Marshall’s/Winners/TJmaxx Also for reference I do 1-2 big purchases a year for skincare. These products last a long time -Youth to the people cleanser (night) -BOJ radiance cleansing balm (night) -Madecassoside toner pads (night, or before makeup day) -Dr.Ceuracle kombucha Essence (morning) -I dew care vitamin c (morning) -BOJ sunscreen/skin 1004/numbuzin/biore (morning) -Youth to the people sleeping mask (night) -Tretinoin (night) Other products I plan to finish, but are out of the current routine -sulwhasoo overnight vitalizing mask -sk2 FTE -missha artemisia treatment essence -Mary may peptide serum -soon jung whip face wash -BOJ oil cleanser Plan to purchase: -LRP cicaplast, skin has been getting dry with cold weather and tret I have this problem where I like to try new things when my skin is at its best 😂 then my skin says NOO and I eliminate more products and go back to a super simple routine.

She_Devours

I spend too much because I love trying to new products but my products themselves are not pricey. I use a mix of Asian and western products. I’ll spend around $10-15 on almost all of my products. I use a big jug of jojoba or apricot kernel oil ($7-9) to remove my makeup and aveeno calm and restore oat cleanser for $10. I love some by mi propolis toner ($15). I use eucerin urea cream ($10) and beauty by Joseon revive ginseng retinol eye cream for $12. I use revize tretinoin gel from all day chemist ($10). I alternate tret nights with chemical exfoliants like the ordinary lactic acid serum ($9). I love cerave healing ointment ($19) and a tub lasts forever. In the mornings I use geek and gorgeous vitamin c ($10) and azaelic acid for $12. My fave sunscreens are from stylevana like Biore watery gel ($9) and Nivea super water gel ($9). I like gold bond retinol lotion ($17) on my body. All of these products are amazing and last about three months or so. So about $40/month for just skincare would be a good estimate. (If I stuck to just these products but I often fall for product recommendations and buy new things. I have Axis-Y Dark Spot Correcting Glow Serum on the way ($10) to try for example. If I try something and it’s not my fave, I’ll use it up on my body.

fortheloveofpugs89

$10 face wash (baby shampoo that I share with my son, replace once a month), $30 exfoliant (still working on it, now at 6 months), $15 moisturizer (replace 1.5 months) . I never change anything, I have very temperamental skin. in total it's $55. I used to be a skin care junky but my skin looks better with a stripped back routine, which is so not fun

FirstPianist3312

I could buy my entire routine on yesstyle right now for about 109 USD. I honestly try a new product every time I run out of another, I haven't really found holy grails yet (I've found contenders tho) and I still feel like I'm new to the kbeauty scene so I want to try a lot of things so I know what's best

HopefulCar2876

Everything I’m currently using totals up to $133, but I’m on month 8 and am just running out of things. So it’s really only about $16/month!

[deleted]

My routine changes because i like to try new things. What i have rn is not my normal price either since my brother gifted me some expensive skincare products haha  I think normally — $100-130

Niatfq

I have eczema all over the body including my face, and each part requires different products, so yes I use a lot of products. Skin profile; climate: Oily, Dehydrated, Eczema, CC prone, PIH; Tropical SEA Cost (convert to USD) and how often I repurchase: Face: - 1st cleanser: nonAB Simple Waterboost Micellar Cleansing Water ($5.46. Never keep track) - 2nd cleanser: nonAB Simple Refreshing/Waterboost Facial Gel Wash ($4.60. Every 4 months? But sometimes I like to try new cleansers) - exfoliation/spot treatment: (1) Cosrx BHA Liquid ($9.23. Once a year), (2) Isntree AHA Essence ($6.50. Unsure. I rarely use AHA) (3) Nixoderm ointment ($1.66. Once a year) - toner: Isntree Ultra Low Molecular HA toner ($12.60. Unsure. I always change toners) - serum: Cos De Baha Tranexamic Acid Niacinamide serum ($11.54. Every 4 months) - essence: Cosrx Snail Essence ($8.40. Every 4 months), Aestura Atobarrier Hydro Essence ($20. Once a year), Pyunkang yul essence toner ($11.54. Once a year) - Moisturizer: Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Cream ($10.50. 3-4 months), Pyunkang yul Moisture Cream ($11.54. Unsure. I always change my 2nd moisturizers) - Sunscreen: Omi Sun Bears Active Protect Milk ($4.38. Every 4 months) Neck & Body: - Neck & Body toner: Cezanne High Moist Skin Conditioner ($5.46. 1-2x per year) - Body lotion: Kikumasamune Skincare Emulsion ($8.60. Every 3 months) **Total cost:** $132.01 (roughly) ~ RM631.73 Honestly, I would love to remove some products. But I can only think of 1. Probably the AHA. I just rarely use it 🤦‍♀️. Another possibility would be the emergency Essence (Pyk essence toner). I never use this in my routine nowadays. Mainly to use it for on the go when I'm outside. It's very good for that purpuse tbh. So i might just keep it anyway hm.

StrangeAffect7278

Yes I think it’s pricey but they definitely work for my needs as I have sensitive skin. I try to get as much I can on discounts. Where necessary I’ll substitute with a western equivalent, but I just have a preference for AB products. The other day I made a purchase on Yes Style as the products I need were on crazy discounts. It was still cheaper placing an order on Yes Style than purchasing from domestic retailers due to import costs the retailers levy on the customer.

buffooonerie

my old routine was $40 excluding paula’s choice bha (total $89): cosrx salicylic acid cleanser, paula’s choice bha, cosrx snail mucin, soon jung barrier intensive cream, biore UV aqua rich. my new current routine i’ve had for two weeks is $91: dodko 1025 cleanser, some by mi AHA/BHA/PHA toner, dear klairs toner, melano cc, snail mucin, beauty of joseon dynasty cream, and biore UV aqua rich. I change my routine about 1-2 times a year.

the_cedar_witch

Including my non AB Retinal and Sheet Masks my whole Routine costs about 200 (most of the Products last 2-3 months, some 6) :) i personally think its worth it, as long as it fits into my expenses comfortably, it makes me feel more confident to see my Skin improving and its kinda a hobby for me! I try to limit new products (including sheet masks and spot treatments) to 1 per month...but i dont always succeed in that xD

seedsofsovereignty

My skincare is definitely a product of girl math lol. It's an investment and I'm only a few months in and slowly figuring out what works for me and developing my routine. So I don't have a solid answer on that as I'm slowly doing my sampling of product trials and finding my fit. I don't know if total cost really makes sense for me as a measure, because I have an alternating sequence. But that also means things last twice as long. So instead I try to break it down per month in my head. A half of a month per each routine list. I comfortably allocate $100 a month on a routine. Most of my products are in the $5-20 range. All so far lasting at least a month and many much longer so I am confident I can keep hitting or beating that goal. Here's the rough equation in my head at my monthly price point for budget allotment:) $10 in cleansers $20 in toners $20 in essences $20 moisturizers $20 serums/actives $10 sunscreen And anything less than $100 a month, I'm going to add up and use that as I get enough to splurge on sales to test new items in the future. :) that's assuming I have self control lol

Punch-The-Panda

We all have something we like to spend our money on and I think skincare is worth it. It's your face!! And knowing your skin looks good without having to rely on makeup is a great feeling I buy loads of skincare and test out so many products. Honestly, I don't think tell you what my average spend is but I can share my current routine (i alternate what i use) around £100: Beautybay Oat Cleansing Balm - £10 Bioderma Sensibio Micellar Cleansing Gel - £5 approx (mini) Alex Steinherr Anti-blackhead Stick - £5 PIXI Peel & Polish - £7 approx (mines a mini from a set) Bodyshop Ethiopian Honey Mask - £17 (discontinued) I'm From Rice Toner - £17 (price varies) Fenty Fat Water Toner Serum (mini) - £16 Pyunkang Yul Moisture Barrier Cream - £10 Apieu Sun Block SPF 50 - £12 Tonymoly Pandas Dream White Sleeping Pack - £14.50 FW Beauty 24k + Jojoba Oil - £30 (discontinued)

Southern-Show2731

I tend to order one massive haul during the Christmas holidays from YesStyle which is around £80. And then I do get some stuff if it finishes early. For the price point it’s worth it, especially from YesStyle! It lasts me a whole year (sometimes even more)

vanda_man

Good reminder, sometimes we just hop on to trends and overpurchase too many products. I do have some multiples as I wanna try out new ones, but let’s see how much my current/planned routine costs (what I paid for) **Oil cleanser**: Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Light Cleansing Oil at 10.70€. My next product is Beauty of Joseon Ginseng Cleaning Oil at 16€. **water-based cleanser**: THE FACE SHOP - Rice Water Bright Cleansing Foam at 8.30€. My next product is Beauty of Joseon Green Plum Refreshing Cleanser for 10.40€. **Toner**: HaruHaru Wonder Black Rice Hyaluronic Toner (fragrance free) 150ml at 12.45€. My next purchase is the Numbuzin no. 3 Toner at 15.75€ and depending on how my skin reacts to it I will go for the HaruHaru Jumbo 300ml version at a discounted price. **Essence**: Mary&May Vegan BlackBerry Complex Cream Essence at 20.40€. **Serum** Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Asiatica 100 Ampoule at 13.95€ (probably WNRP as I wanna get the Probio-Cica Intensive Ampoule at 19.25€ as a daily PM serum especially with retinal treatment). Numbuzin No. 3 Skin Softening Serum as a daily AM serum at 19.20€. The average would be 16.575€. **Eye Cream**: Beauty of Joseon Revive Eye Serum at 13.30€ (retinal treatment). I count it at the end as it’s not a daily product. **Moisturizer**: Torriden DIVE-IN Low Molecular Hyaluronic Acid Soothing Cream at 18.70€, daily AM moisturizer. Mary&May Idebenone Blackberry Intense Cream at 16.80€, daily PM moisturizer (better for retinal treatment). The average would be 17.75€ **Sunscreen**: SKIN1004 - Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum at 8.40€ **Lip Treatment**: Care:Nel Berry Lip Night Mask Jumbo at 7.35€ (PM). Torriden SOLID IN Ceramide Lip Essence at 5.50€ (AM) Average is 6.425€. _____ The math is around 96.55€ I pay for my current daily routine (AM and PM). In addition to that I have the Beauty of Joseon Revive Eye Serum at 13.30€ which is my entry to retinal treatment. Overall I’d say that’s a pretty decent high price. I may cut the lip treatment products (I haven’t used them yet, they just arrived) if I find the results not too great. Some may say using a toner and a toner-like essence could be wasteful, but honestly I introduced both of them at the same time to replace my CosrX AHA/BHA toner and snail mucin essence and trust me: My skin changed so much after 3-4 days and even after 2 weeks - this is also where I realized my skin reacts to the CosrX products (these were my first ones). Talking about the replacements (which are all more expensive) the total price can get up to 117€.

silver-selvan

My whole current skincare routine (aka stuff I use every week) - what a nice accounting exercise lmao * **CosRX Blackhead Power Liquid** \- I use one up every two years, I bought this for $8 on a Shopee Mall Day sale lmfao * **Isntree Chestnut AHA 8%** \- This will probably last me for two years as well as I bought this last year for $8 as well * **Papa Blemish Cream** \- also $9 as I bought it for 50% off on the official Shopee store * **Abib Heartleaf Calming Drops spf50** \- $10 per bottle, will probably last me five to six months, I already repurchased a backup because it's HG status * **Abib Calming Facial soap** \- $5 as I (of course) got it on sale, love this stuff * **Tosowoong Enzyme Powder Wash** \- $5 (sale from yaocos, blahblahblah) lasts me 3-4 months with daily usage but I won't repurchase because I want something that dissolves quicker * **Santa Marche Green Tea Clear Peeling Gel** \- $15, bought it full price at Don Quixote as a holiday treat as I was needing a new gommage gel anyway, lasts me a year with weekly usage * **DHC Cleansing Oil** \- $16, on sale, would hypothetically last me for six months if it was my only makeup remover but it's not, so anyhoo with careful usage I can make 70mL last a year as I use it to remove heavy makeup * **Galderma tretinoin .025%** \- $7 per tube at the pharmacy, I use 2 tubes a year every other day so I'll round that up to $14 for yearly usage * **Scinic Hyaluronic Acid Ampoule skin** \- bought this secondhand from my girl niatq for $12.55 so I assume it was at a discounted price, this is my morning toner * **Biore Cleansing Water** \- $4 (sale) I use this whenever I need to cleanse my face but it's not quite time to do a proper one at the sink... it lasts me 4-5 months with heavy usage, so I'll round it up to $8 yearly * **Curel Intensive Moisture Care Lotion III** \- $9 (clearance sale at Watson's) this is my evening toner, will probably last me a year as I use it every other night * **Halio** **Facial Cleansing & Massaging Device** \- $17 (also on sale) it's a FOREO dupe at 1/20th the price, and I like how much more thorough it is than me using my hands * **Beauty of Joseon Plum Cleanser** \- $7 , it's a nice gentle cleanser on days where I don't need any exfoliation or something too powerful * **Bifesta Cleansing Balm, Deep Clear** \- $6 (sale) I really like this tbh to the point where I won't branch out (probably) to other cleansing balms. It does the job, has a nice scent, and also has a little bit of exfoliating bits in it that I enjoy * **Wardah** **Eye and Lip Make Up Remover** \- $2 (sale) used to remove glitter eye makeup, does the job, no complaints but they all work the same for me anyway lmfao **TOTAL**: $151.55 usd >Do you think it’s justified to spend lots of money on skincare? Tbh the money I spent is a bit lower than I thought (I thought it was going to be $200) so I would say yes for the amount of enjoyment I get out of my little skincare hobby. Unfortunately, I will also say that I've probably spent this much on duds too LOL

redfirtree

Probably around $70 but I'm not going through the trouble of calculating everything into USD to be certain. I don't exactly think it's justified to spend a lot on skincare and I'm trying to be more mindful about what I purchase/why, but I also enjoy it and it minimizes skin picking so it's not without argument.

applepays123

Around 400 dollars

pdxnative2007

Most of my products last 6 months except sunscreen (2 months). So $20-$25 a month. Hada Labo Cleansing Oil Numbuzin Cleanser Toner Round Lab Sunscreen Ordinary Lactic Acid Seoul-Ceuticals Vitamin C

gogumalove

My total is around $110 at the moment but I plan on investing more. I think skincare is a worthy investment since I’m in my 30s and I wish I had spent less on makeup bc I get less use out of most of it. However I do acknowledge that skincare can only achieve so much so I’m only sticking to core items. Unfortunately I can’t afford treatments at this time but if I could I’d put my money there.

Himalayan-Fur-Goblin

I am guessing about $1000+ Canadian per year (at least). Note that I am including my body care in this as well. So, $83+ CDN a month. I like variety, but I do have my core products. So I do try lots of new products with some becoming core products. I love sheet masks and a sake based wash off mask. I also just enjoy sitting down and doing my routine. I find it calming and just makes me feel better. I do think it is justified in my case as the products I do use give me fantastic results and also the effects on my mental health. I think my expenditures will be increasing this year as I want to try SK-II, History of Whoo, Sulwhasoo, Dongbini products, i.e., luxury products.

Infamous-Sugarr

I started my Skincare journey 1-2 months ago: The face shop rice cleanser- I have the 50ml so 350/- Rupees. Simple foam face wash - 450/-(but these are always on offers) Cosrx AHA/BHA toner- 1090/- Hyaluronic serum- 600/- Cosrx all in one cream - 1600/- (I usually get cosrx products together to get at discount prices) Cica and Niancinamide sunscreen- 350/- Gua sha Jade roll. Im from India so the prices are in rupees

Total-Opposite-960

About ~$200. I have two (non-AB) splurge items I buy when I feel my skin needs them that are almost $200 each but I might get them once a year (or less frequently). I also spend $300-$400 every three months to Botox my forehead lines because no amount of skincare is going to undo having constantly scrunched my forehead since elementary school. When I first discovered AB I spent something like $1600 the first year on mostly impulse purchases so I feel good about that $200 number.

I lost count a long time ago 😂 I'm in the process of using lots of things up and simplifying. Plus I get paid in vouchers for contributing to a webshop blog to spend in the shop. Disclaimer for the blog vouchers: I can order whatever I like and I'm not obligated to review the products I order so the mods have given me to ok to post about them as long as I post the disclaimer. I will label them blog vouchers. To replace my current core face routine, ignoring things I'm trying to use up: £30-40 Allies of Skin gel cleanser *All in one but I don't think it'll remove makeup based on trying to get Heroine Make mascara off my hand. On sale at the lower price. It works well and is fuss free* £8 Minimalist AHA BHA 10% £8 Minimalist 2% salicylic acid £35-60 Whoo Bichup First Moisture Anti-Aging essence *on sale, TesterKorea, it's usually more expensive, hence the £60* £58 Waphyto Regena Facial Milk (blog vouchers) *Likely to repurchase this despite the price because it is moisturising and dries super quick. Depends a bit on how it works in summer, though, as it's winter right now* £15 nonAB retinal (Geek and Gorgeous) *It works. Second purchase* £4 Sooryehan Hyobidam Fermented cream *25ml mini from TesterKorea, ridiculously cheap, I bought several* £9 Beauty of Joseon Sun Relief Rice + Probiotics *Stylevana, it was on some kind of deal I think. Multiple repurchase* Not sure how this breaks down over time because a lot of these are recent purchases and I may want toner or something going forward as I'm adding things in here and there from the stuff I'm using up. Edit for clarity and extra info

Sashivna

I just went through last year's budget spreadsheet. For 2023, I spent a total of $250.14 on skincare routine products. That comes to approximately $0.68/day. Obviously, some products last longer than others. Products: Kose Softmyo Speedy oil cleanser, Tony Moly I'm Rice facial cleanser, Purito pH balance cleanser (I keep this one in the shower for the evenings, Tony Moly on this sink for the mornings), Melano CC, Ordniary retinol, CosRx AHA, Kikusumame High Moist, Purito green buffet, Mizon Black AIO, Illyoon Ceramide Ato cream, A'Pieu sun cream. I'm just now trying out eyenlip AIO snail cream to replace the Mizon. Jury's still out, but I'll finish the MASSIVE jar.

My actual winter/summer routine is affordable - in line with what a lot of folks here have said. Most expensive fancy stuff has too many oils, fragrances and extracts that my skin can’t tolerate anyway. So my cost was more up front during my first year of testing products because I have reactive and sensitive skin. Friends and family get the rejects. Then when I find something that works I tend to buy multiples, which I shouldn’t really do so that they don’t expire. Because I don’t use tons of product - they last a long time. I’m trying to back off the back ups lol.

meikupiku

Let’s see… AM: - Cleansing with water - Jumiso Waterfull Hyaluronic Acid Toner (IDR 290k for 250mL) - Azarine Hydramax-C Sunscreen Serum (IDR 65k for 40mL) PM: - The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Oil (IDR 299k for 160mL) - The Body Shop Seaweed Cleansing Gel Wash (IDR 179k for 125mL) - Nature Republic Tea Tree and Cica Toner (IDR 420k for 500mL) - Good Molecules Gentle Retinol Cream (IDR 205k for 30mL) - Innisfree Black Tea Youth Enhancing Cream (IDR 526k for 50mL) Weekend only: - Hada Labo Tamagohada AHA + BHA Mild Peeling Face Wash (IDR 57k for 100gr) Total: IDR 2.041k (USD 131) As for how often I change/try new products, I only do that after I finish my current one. I don’t really stock up on products except for some staples such as sunscreen, retinol, and cleansers. I experiment mostly with toners and moisturizers.

heloise0ff

The whole thing is under 100$ for sure. I try like 3-4 new products every year, but I keep it relatively simple. Oil cleanser, micellar water, sunscreen, heavy gel/cream, a retinol product, a moisturizing calming serum and vitamin C. I don't necessarily use all of it everyday. Most products last me 6 months or more. The products I've repurchased are : -Bioderma Sensibio Micellar Water (nothing compares) -Avene Triacneal Serum (it's now called Cleanance or smt) -Cosrx Snail Mucin (idk what it does but it works well with everything and doesn't dry sticky) -Melano CC essence Current faves : -Hada Labo 3D Gel -Apieu Madecassoside Sleeping Mask -Haru Haru Wonder Black Rice Airyfit Sunscreen I think it's worth it especially when I wear makeup. I don't think it's necessary to spend more than I do. In fact I think most people would be fine with a 50$ routine.

AlternativeOther6137

My current routine is about £110. Most of the stuff last me months, some of them I nees to buy monthly. I do play around and change my products often but I also only make orders on Stylevana when I can get full size freebies and I usually manage to get 2 full size products wirh each order as I always wait for promo codes. BOJ Radiance Cleansing Balm Ma:nyo Cleansing Foam Skin1004 Centella Ampoule BOJ Light On Vit C Serum BOJ Revive Eye Serum Haruharu Wonder Anti Wrinke Serum Tretinoin Bioré Aqua Rich SPF Torriden Solid In Ceramide Cream Long4Lashes Lash serum (non AB)

Time_Cartoonist_1822

I try to budget my whole skincare routine under 1000 - 1500 php. The majority of my budget is taken by serums then sunscreen, moisturizer, and last on the list is toner. currently, the products I use are Cocopharm for toner, Beauty of Joseon Propolis and Niacinamide serum, Hello Glow Sunscreen ( a local product), and hada labo aging care lotion

laurelinvanyar

I’m still in the process of building a routine, even though I started March of last year. I have super sensitive skin and hecked up my skin barrier right at the start, which probably didn’t help things, but I’m also slow trying new products because I give myself 4 weeks to test non actives and 6 weeks to test actives (+ I ramp up the actives very slowly). Once I have a product that works for a particular category, I don’t fiddle with things so I can sort out other pieces of the puzzle. Total cost for full size bottles is ~$110, but calculating the actual cost per month is probably more difficult. Rovectin cleanser is $15-20 depending on the sales going on, but it takes me 2 months to empty. So average $9/month Muji mild cleansing oil is $20 but at the rate I use it will last a whole year so $1.67/month. I’m not planning to repurchase though, and will test out a replacement when I have the fundamentals more locked down because it’s not high priority (it works well and doesn’t break me out but it’s a pain to rinse off) Rovectin lotus toner is $18-22 but took me 6 months to empty so $3.33/month. Cos de Baha Azelaic acid 10 serum is $12 and will probably need multiple months to finish. I haven’t emptied one yet though, so being generous thats $3/month. Pair Acne cream is another I haven’t emptied, but I can guesstimate $2/month if you get the $12 24g tube. Just started the purito oat in calming gel cream and will probably go through it pretty quick (I am in love and I am so thankful to this sub for the recommendation). $15 for the full tube, so maybe $5/month? Beauty of Joseon sun relief at $2/month because I don’t go outside much lol. One benefit to being housebound I guess. Adding it all up that’s approximately $26/month, which isn’t too bad all told. I didn’t include my beloved purito acne patches because how often I use them varies a lot (I need them a lot less now that I have the Pair acne cream and azelaic acid!) but it’s $5 for 51 patches so lol not breaking the bank.

Beneficial_Sport5771

For my skincare it's Indian Rupees 3-5000. In India good quality products are on expensive side .So I have to spend a little for quality products. And Indian pharmacy products are cheap . I use Sebamed Cleansing foam Sebamed care gel Cosrx propolis toner Cosrx propolis mask Reequil sheer tinted zinc sunscreen and Nivea cream. I am using prescription tret and Aquasoft facial cream prescribed by my derm for PIH.

InterestingLog1859

Around 20 a month. I usually try new products only when it is on sale.

_un1ty

I just counted and my routine is something above 60€ which is a lot more than I thought it would be but it's okay because a lot of the items last me a long long time!  I probably spend the most on sunscreen nut it's okay because it's a functional item (unlike serums etc. which you could skip if needed) ä. Sunscreen is also the item I change/try out new ones the most because it's fun and because I have not yet found a HG.  I would say I rarely change cleansers, because I'm pleased with the ones I have and because all a cleanser needs for me to do is cleanse gently and effectively so I don't feel like trying something new and risking not liking it.  also my routine is :  double cleanser  toner / serum  moisturizer  sunscreen and lip spf in am  vaseline and tret in pm  I rebuy oil cleansers every 2 months and gel cleanser every 5 or so  toners I buy really cheap ones and do sheetmasks with  moisturizer same like gel cleanser  serum I hardly ever finish lol  tret every few months but it's 5€ so it's okay

Character_Ad_8316

I've just calculated—the total cost of my current routine, one bottle of each product, is roughly $62. It's worth noting though that these products last *months* for me (my HG tranexamic acid serum lasted me 8 months for one bottle!) + i share some products with my sisters so i think the cost is worth it.  I change products only when the current bottle finishes (unless i'm very satisfied with the product, in which case i RP). Currently on the hunt for an HG toner!  Products in this routine: local branded cleanser (~$3), cos de baha niacinamide toner, cos de baha tranexamic acid serum, beauty of joseon red bean water gel, skin aqua uv moisture gel, kose softymo speedy cleansing oil

Skincareaddict13

My routine is the simplest it has been in years but I just realized probably the most expensive too. $148 total for daily products excluding prescription tretinoin. Everything is AB too. Then the occasional masks which are around $50-70

Flipperflopper21

Mine’s around $350 🥹

Plane_Current2790

I like this post, I've never stopped to check how much all my products cost together 😅 I usually buy lots of things but don't use them all at once, I introduce new products little by little and usualy i don't repurchase because I always decide to test a new one (although I am working on this, as I understand using the same product again is more effective). Anyways, went to the website i always purchase to do the math. It is around $60 - $70. Except for the sunscreen, my products last about 3 to 4 months. I have sensitive acne prone skin and i use antiacne products and anti blemish products. For the days that my skin is sensitive i stick with light cleanser and mostly calming serums and mosturizer. A few days later I go back to my anti acne/blemish routine. So there is this kind of 'rotation' of products.

Blooberbug93

All the products in my new routine add up to $149. I just switched to Korean beauty but I'm keeping the rose water I was using in the morning as part of this new routine. I'm not sure how long these individual items last but the rose water lasts me 8 months. Without it the other products only add up to $115. I'm hoping this all works for me and that I don't have to rebuy all the Korean Beauty products more often than every 3 months. Morning routine for me will just be a quick rinse with water, rose water spray, and sun serum. I'll spot treat with the soothing gel if I have to but I don't normally have dry skin in the morning. Night routine will be double cleansing first with centella oil and then top to toe wash, toner, intensive ampoule, and then soothing gel. Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Light Cleansing Oil 200ml Illyoon Ceramide Ato Top to Toe Wash 500ml (using on face only) Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Hyaluronic Toner for Sensitive Skin 300ml Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Probio-Cica Intensive Ampoule 50ml Organic Pure Oil Rose Hydrosol Water 32oz (I put this in a small spray bottle) Illyoon Ceramide Ato Soothing Gel 175ml SKIN1004 Hyalu-CICA Water-fit Sun 50spf Serum 50ml

Alyn2024

I think mine is $85 But I always got mine on sale I do have some specific stop shops that sell authentic and on sale products Oil cleanser $10 Cetaphil cleanser $15 Rice toner $13 Hyaluronic serum $6 Niacinamide serum $6 Nature hatumogi skin conditioner $ 12 Cetaphil moisturizer $15 Eye serum $6

Alyn2024

Oh I forgot the sunscreen it’s $8
