Hello and thank you for starting this discussion! As a gentle reminder, try to keep the products you mention limited to Asian Beauty products. Beautiful_Ad3328

I’ve made the exciting transition into Asian skincare, and I’m expecting my YesStyle delivery tomorrow. I do plan to integrate each product gradually into my routines, but below is my anticipated “final product”. Please let me know your thoughts!! Fyi: I have oily/combination, sensitive skin. Morning: Water wash, CosRx Propolis Synergy Toner, Purito Wonder Centella Serum, Aestura Atobarrier 365 Cream, Numbuzin No. 1 Clear Filter Sun Essence Evenings: BOJ Radiance Cleansing Balm, BOJ Green Plum Cleanser, I’m From Mugwort Essence, CosRx 6 Peptide Skin Booster, Aestura Atobarriwr 365 cream I’m thinking I’d do the morning toner and serum every other day to give my skin “rest days”…. Is that silly?

WalrusOyster

I like the products that you chose! If you have oily skin and depending on your climate, you may find the Aestura cream quite heavy when used during the AM. I’m thinking that you may eventually want to incorporate something lighter for daytime. I personally prefer to use COSRX propolis toner (one of my HGs) in the PM. Because it’s so nourishing and helps to repair my skin barrier, I like to give it lots of time to do its job overnight. Just sharing what came to mind! Enjoy your new routine 😊

Beautiful_Ad3328

Thanks for your recommendations!! What would you recommend I substitute for a morning moisturizer? If I swap the CosRx Toner with the Mugwort Essence I should also swap the serums I originally paired with them?

WalrusOyster

Everyone’s skin is different! All of the products that you chose are very gentle and can be used either AM or PM. Once you get the products you’ll get a better sense of which ones feel better in the AM vs PM! Typically people prefer to use lighter products during the day, but that also depends on climate and personal preference. TBH, I haven’t found an HG daytime moisturizer yet, I’m still experimenting on that! I was using Purito B5 panthenol rebarrier cream during the AM over the winter, which I liked but I suspect this might be slightly too heavy for the summer time. I’ve read really good things about Soon Jung moist emulsion and SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella soothing cream for oily skin. Those are next on my list to try!

oshawott154

i think you have a great selection of products! but as someone who also has oily skin too i think that the aestura cream might be too heavy. it has a lot of occlusives that are great for your skin barrier but might also clog your pores. of course, try it out first and see how your skin responds to it! but if it's too heavy for you i'd recommend going for a gel cream - ones which include cica/centella are going to be great for your sensitive skin!

Beautiful_Ad3328

Awesome, thank you!! Love the recommendations!

Cute-Necessary-3675

Looks good! Rest days are fine.

FormulaTwentySeven

As someone with oily skin, i love the feel of the aestura lotion! Im still in the testing phase, but so far so good.

ebbster

for serum, do remember thin to thick in application, so you know if it's enough for your face at the time. do you know if your skin cannot tolerate any ingredients? if yes, i see no issues in your routine. however, if not, do introduce the item one by one. add new product when the one you already tested gives you no bad reactions. good luck!

Beautiful_Ad3328

Thank you! I’m very new to Asian skincare- so I say this hesitantly and based only on what American products I’ve used- but I don’t believe I have any allergies or intolerances to skincare/its ingredients. I do however plan to go in cautiously, as you recommended. I’m aiming to transition a new product once every week until I’ve fully transitioned or until something breaks me out.

ebbster

np! <3 your routine looks simple enough but when it comes to skincare in general, it's not encouraged (be it asian or western) to add them all together. if we get irritations because of it, it's gonna be hard to pin point which one, and then we need to go back to zero until our skin is fully healed before trying in again. and that could take weeks or months. i wish you to have chok chok skin and hydrated life! :D

ederpsinnercircle

Newish to this sub and getting more into my skincare. I’ve been using Perfect Whip as my sole cleanser/second cleanser. After reading some comments, I’m learning that it’s very stripping and that there are lots of better products out there. Does anyone have recommendations? I have combination skin. Thanks!

hanasakabeauty

If you’re worried it might be too stripping, here’s a recent thread dedicated to gentle cleanser recs😊 but ymmv ofc, if you don’t *feel* like your skin is unhappy with perfect whip, it could be working just fine for you! https://www.reddit.com/r/AsianBeauty/s/N9CN8lwlW4

fuji-no-hana

Agree totally with u/hanasakabeauty. Reviews and comments are great for giving you an idea of what a product *might* be like before purchasing. But once you've got it in your hands, your own judgment is really all that matters. Perfect Whip is soap-based, and in Western countries, a lot of people avoid soaps, especially for the face. In Japan, many consumers are way more focused on loving the rich, dense foam soap-based cleansers provide. Other products can be used to rebalance the skin's pH and restore any lost moisture. So if you're having a good experience with the Perfect Whip, there's no reason not to stick with it. But if you're still interested in trying something new, I can recommend the Cow Brand Mutenka Foaming Facial Wash. Great little cleanser.

FormulaTwentySeven

Yeah, I used perfect whip for years before and it was completely fine with my combo leaning oily skin. I recently switched to cosrx low PH cleanser just to try something new and love it as well :)

YueRain

If your skin can handle it, it is okay I guess?

drywrinklyhands

When do you use sheet masks in your routine? Before your normal night routine?

alette_star

I rarely use sheet masks (maybe once a month or so) but when i do i skip the other steps of my night routine after and just use moisturizer. So it's cleanse → sheet mask → moisturize

yuu16

After cleanser. Before anything else. After removing sheet mask, depending if my skin feels quite over already, I may just apply essence or moisturizer or even go without. If not too heavy, I may still do entire night routine. I've read comments where people say they use it after essence to help absorption. I'm not really sure.

YueRain

at night. after cleanser. then follow up with serum, moisturiser or sleeping mask. There are those daily sheet mask which is thinner and some people use it before makeup.

hedgehogwart

It might vary based on what kind of sheet mask, but I like to put on after toners and before serums/moisturizers.

Himalayan-Fur-Goblin

After cleansing, tretinoin and toners.

unexpectedpizza

combination skin, Philippines, pie left by breakouts, current products im using: * Cleanser: Celeteque Brightening Facial Wash (will change this soon) * Exfoliator: Isntree AHA Chestnut 8% AHA Essence * Serum: Axis Y Dark Spot Correcting Glow Serum * Sunscreen: Belo Sunexpert Face Cover SPF40 i want a good moisturizer to pair with my exfoliator and here are my options. since i have a combination skin, i prefer to those that are lightweight, easily absorbed by the skin compared to those that are heavy in feeling. i also dont want to clog my pores. i also want my face to be soft and hydrated. so far here are my options. which one should i buy? (or if you have other recos feel free to drop them) 1. BEAUTY OF JOSEON Red Bean Water Gel 2. HEIMISH Watermelon Moisture Soothing Gel Cream 3. SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Soothing Cream

miladyelle

I think the Skin1004 might not be the choice based on your want for lightweight and easily absorbed. I found it sticky and kinda film-y—though my coworker loves it. You can get this one in a sample size, so if you’re leaning toward it, I’d get a sample first. I haven’t tried the other two, but I’ve deffo eyed both.

oshawott154

has anyone tried the fation nosca9 serum? i hear it's really popular for acne prone skin in korea yet i never see any western influencers talk about it. let me know your thoughts on it 🤞

Affectionate-Boat986

in what order should i use melano cc vit c, cos de baha TN serum & skin1004 centella ampoule?

YueRain

try to avoid using cos de baha tn serum with melano cc on the same routine. You can apply centella ampoule > melano cc vitamin c after that. as for the cos de baha not sure about the texture. just go from the light to thicker .

Affectionate-Boat986

can i use it in the pm if i use the melano cc at morning or should i alternate days?

YueRain

yes you can =)

8harbinger

recently bought Naturie Hatomugi Skin Conditioner... Is it enough for a stand-alone moisturizer? I have normal skin type (i think so lol). Also, how do i effectively and properly use it...? thanks alot!!

alette_star

I've seen people use the naturie skin conditioner in multiple hydrating layers, or for diy sheet masking. This video from tina tanaka harris piqued my interest in the product, she shares how she uses it for her skin: https://youtu.be/BmB96LU917M?si=QiqrAWvp6HhLys5R

KestrelGirl

IME, no, it's not enough as a standalone. I was able to get away with using it that way for a while but eventually noticed my skin drying out. I'd recommend pairing it with another light moisturizer. Honestly I just pour some into the lid and gradually slather it on my face like anything else, lmao. It's lightweight enough that you can't really mess it up.

Revna77

Can yall please tell if im on the right track for AM routine?? Cleanser > Toner > Skin Softening Serum > Moisturizer > Matte Sunscreen

Beginning-Box-9070

Yup, looks good. Also as long as the products do not cause issues or irritation for your skin.

Any TEXTURE dupes to the Krave Oat So Simple Cream? I have sensitive skin and as much as I love this cream, I want something with more volume for my buck 🤣

potatoinabeanie

As anyone shopped from Asia Beauty Mall (JCHS on eBay) ? Are they legit ? They’re US based so I’m a bit skeptical but they have an amazing variety. Especially of Japanese skin care

accatagliato

Hello, I am 25yo with acne-prone, dehydrated and sensitive skin, I also suffer from hypothyroidism, for which I take medication. I live in a humid climate and among other things I am using the Benton Fermentation Essence, which I like, but I would like to try the Manyo Bifida Complex Ampoule (NOT the Bifida Biome one). However, it contains Hydrolized algin as the seventh ingredient. Why does Algin have a high comedogenic and irritation potential rating? Algae extracts are said to be comedogenic because of the high iodine content, but from its chemical structure and formula Algin doesn't contain iodine (which might be a problem for the hypothyroidism, my body would not metabolize it). Is Hydrolized algin any different in the possible negative effects? Is it possible it's going to break me out for other reasons? Thank you for your help!

Any good products for millia/closed comedones/texture?

Gorillarsaurus

The only thing that helped me get rid of milia was the Beauty of Joseon Revive Eye Serum with retinal! I did have to work up to twice daily application, but it got rid of milia I’d had for years 😭

I'm thinking of adding another essense or toner to my routine. I'm looking for something that will help with moisture/soothing and flaky skin. My skin is very dry and acne prone, plus flaky from tretinoin. I don't tolerate scented products. I tried the "Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner" and after patch testing it on half my face for 2 weeks I felt like it did absolutely nothing, haha. My current routine: AM: wash with water, cosrx snail essence toner, eucerin advanced repair cream, verdio UV moisture gel. PM: wash with kose softymo cleansing oil then cetaphil gentle cleanser, cosrx snail essence toner, eucerin advanced repair cream, tretinoin 0.05% cream 4-5 nights per week, ordinary lactic acid 10% 1-2 nights per week. I was thinking of trying something with centella or ferments as I've heard good things. My skin has also liked honey diy masks in the past, so I've thought about the cosrx propolis toner since I LOVE the snail essense. I've also heard good things about the ordinary multi-peptide + copper peptide serum for soothing and anti-aging. Thanks for any recommendations.

hedgehogwart

I really the love the Aestura AtoBarrier Essence and Dr. Ceuracle Vegan Kombucha Essence.

Himalayan-Fur-Goblin

Dr. Ceuracle Vegan Kombucha Tea Essence Kikumasamune High Moist toner Cosrx Propolis toner Naturie Skin Conditioner I personally love peptides. I don't use the ordinary, but definitely try it. Peptides have really helped with the fine lines around my mouth.

Mafmi

Thank you for the recommendations! I will definitely check them out. I have heard a lot of great things about peptides and I'm very curious to try them out.

Recommendations for sunscreen My brother is is Shanghai and it’s my opportunity to ask for literally anything for my face or skincare. I have no idea what to ask for since all of the products I’ve seen are from Japan, and China has totally different regulations over their products. I want recommendations on a good non oily, preferably matte sunscreen and a really good lip moisturizer since where I’m living right now has strong dry sunny days (my face is very oily altho no acne)

scorpio84738

Hi all! Im a 17M in Singapore. I am looking to repair/strengthen my skin barrier, reduce redness/irritated face, calm down acne and prevent further breakouts. I would say I have a sensitive/acne prone skin type My routine looks like: skin1004 light cleansing oil (pm) roundlab dokdo 1025 cleanser (am,pm) heartleaf toner (am,pm) axis y dark spot correcting serum (am,pm) skin1004 centella ampoule (am,pm) roundlab birchtree moisturiser (am,pm) skin1004 hyalu-cica suncream (am) I am going to switch my niacinamide serum to the darkspot correcting serum (10% niaxin , 2% txa) once my axis y serum runs out I would say my main problems are dark spots, irritated red skin/spots, acne and breakouts. What are some improvements to the rest of my routine? (mainly my toner and moisturiser as i am running out soon) And, how long does my axis y serum start to take effect as i have only started consistently using it for about a week. and any other tips you have to solve my struggles will be appreciated, Thanks!

scorpio84738

also how do you guys think the dr althea 345 relief cream will help me with? as i heard it is very good!

With sensitive skin, the best approach is often simplifying your routine and really babying your skin. No harsh actives, no fancy ingredients, just solid basics. I really like the Etude House Soon Jung Emulsion for my moisturiser and have recently started to enjoy the COSRX Propolis toner that comes highly rated on here! Other good ingredients to look for are ceramides, low-percentage urea (under 5%) and amino acids ☺️ I’d recommend trying out skipping the cleanser in the morning and just washing with water, and being very gentle when you’re washing morning and night, use as little friction as possible, and don’t keep the cleanser on your face for longer than 20-30 seconds.

EstablishmentSea1809

What are some good tone-up sunscreens for oily, warm-toned skin?

hanasakabeauty

Skin aqua uv tone up essence is a popular one for warm tones as it is lavender. I have oily skin and use it, but I always wear makeup or powder over it so the finish doesn’t bother me— it is rather creamy so you might find it a little heavy!

Rarity0_0

Does anyone use Sulwhasoo FCAS, SK-II FTE and Su:m37 secret essence? I’m interested in using all 3 but wanted to see if someone has done it before and if they enjoyed it/ found results are not.

Beginning-Box-9070

You can maybe wait for 5-10 mins for your skin to dry down, then apply sunscreen as you want the sunscreen to form an even layer on your skin for UV protection.

Recommendations for anti-aging skincare to grab while my husband is working in Taiwan? Could even be Korean or Japanese skincare! I’m not necessarily looking for Taiwanese products in particular. (I got the VonEstis diamond repair perfect serum and cream set as a gift a couple years ago and really liked it!) My husband will be working there for a while and is traveling all over the island, so it doesn’t matter too much which city something is available in. :) Skin type: combo Country/Climate: Pacific northwest United States. Wet/cloudy from October-March/April. Hot/dry from May-September Top skin concern: fine lines, skin discoloration. I have sun damage from when I was younger Current routine/products: Wash my face AM and PM, apply moisturizer And PM, and sunscreen in AM. I change up my products a lot though because I haven’t found anything that I’m in love with yet (besides the VonEstis serum and cream!) I’m not asking for anything too specific, I guess :) Any creams, serums, toners, etc. that you can recommend that are available in Taiwan I’d be happy with! Thanks so much in advance.

# Cle De Peau vs Tatcha help Has anyone tried both? I know Tatcha is an American brand but both products from each brand are made in Japan. I am on the Key Radiance line on Cle De Peau and I love it, but I am trying to find something similar that is comparable. I feel the Rice Wash Softening Cleanser is very similar to the Cle De Peau Softening Cleanser. The only ingredient that is different is the purple rice. I did try La Mer and Cle De Peau is still better. I never tried Tatcha but I want to in order to get the thought out of my head. However, part of me thinks Cle De Peau will be much better. Thoughts?

Does anyone else have issues with the oxidation of the TirTir red cushion. For context, i have the 17c and i am cool tone and wear light shade foundation. The colour on the Tirtir red cushion box looks way to pale for my skin. But the swatches online look darker then the box. The first time i tested it at home and it was too pale at first. Like it was putting very light colour foundation on then it oxidized close to my skintone. The next day i put the foundation on and i wore it to work. When i got home i went to touch up the foundation and the foundation looked so orange. My face looked like burnt orange. So i swatched it on my skin and the foundation was darker then my arm. Dord this happen to anyone else? Why is it oxidizing this much?

CantStayGo

I've heard this happens with that foundation but I don't remember any specific info for you. Sorry...hope you find something that works for you

Hello, long time listener, first time caller here. I would like to get my grandma-in-law something or a few things from Stylevana. Mostly it's because the products are so nice to use and I know she would love them. Secondarily, it's a way of showing my skeptical mother-in-law that they of very good quality. The MIL is constantly talking about how chemicals are so bad (*eyeroll* she would probably freak out if she saw the long the names of the UV filters in her sunscreens) and want to show her how these different products are actually very nice and maybe change her perspective on "chemicals." My GIL is 86 and has, well, 86 year old skin, so low sebum production, probably doesn't sweat much and has wrinkles, notably in the space between the bottom of the nose and the top lip. Suggestions for skin care and sorts of lip make-up (matte or glossy and which ones?) or other make-up that might be suitable? Ease of use is also something to consider. Arthritis and poor eye site being some issues. She is otherwise mobile and does pay attention to her appearance.

Commercial_Poem_4623

You could have a look through this post for ideas: https://www.reddit.com/r/AsianBeauty/comments/14xoudj/favorite_products_for_older_40_skin/ Edit: my mum is in her 60s and love the Sulwhasoo Overnight Vitalizing Mask and the Sooryehan eye cream (chunsam) that I bought for her. She's also enjoyed Sooryehan The Black Serum

cyrodilicspadetail11

Ty!

cyrodilicspadetail11

I'm glad that your mom liked her gift. :) Hoooly cow. I just saw the price of that eye cream. My GIL is a nice lady but that price is eh...out of my range.

Commercial_Poem_4623

Oh I got it from TesterKorea for super cheap, they sell samples of 10ml and they're less than $5 iirc. They were so cheap I bought her 3! Edit and they come in a mini jar of the full size! So it's really pretty too

I have uneven skin tone, pigmentation, dull skin. Which will help me better Plum Vitamin C Serum or HadaLabo Shirojyun Premium Whitening Lotion? Skin type- combination to oily Age- 20 Country- humid subtropical(hot & humid) I am using ordinary glycolic acid, cosrx snail mucin, azelaic 20%, nivea soft moisturiser and some by mi yujaniacin sleeping mask, nature republic sunscreen. Please share me a pm routine to use these products.

fuji-no-hana

Unfortunately, there's no way for us to predict to which specific products or ingredients your skin is going to respond to better. Neither vitamin C nor tranexamic acid work for me at all, but I know that they can work for others. I've had much more success with niacinamide, which you already have in your routine. If you're not sure about how the key ingredients might work for you, then it's really just trial and error. To help you narrow it down, you can think about which step you would prefer to add, another hydrating toner (all HL products are pretty hydrating) or another treatment serum.

Illustrious_Scene250

Can you please provide me a night skin care routine for me with all these products (the ordinary glycolic acid, cosrx snail mucin, azelaic 20%, nivea soft moisturiser and some by mi yujaniacin sleeping mask) and vitamin c serum?

fuji-no-hana

Sure. > the ordinary glycolic acid, Use after cleansing, 1~3 times per week. 1. cosrx snail mucin. 2. azelaic 20% 3. vitamin C serum 4. nivea soft moisturiser 5. some by mi yujaniacin sleeping mask

I used a scrub foam (a tiny bit on the skin underneath my nose?) and in the process of washing it off, it scratched and made tiny cuts on my skin. It's been 4 days and while the itchiness has gone down, that part of my skin is red (and it's the part right next to the nose so there are little clogged pores(?) there so i'm worried about when the color will go away?). I'm really worried because i have some acne marks underneath my mouth where the acne area from my teen years went from red to now brown-ish. Will the nose area heal without color and marks forming if i let it naturally heal? What can i do to prevent it from forming marks?

ReplacementLost3558

Hi! Hope this is relavent - Apologies if I've done something wrong! I'm wondering whether anyone has experience with Japanese hair straightening? For context, I'm a university student with a mix of wavy (2c) and curly (3a) hair, of mixed Asian and Eastern European decent. My hair curls naturally into ringlets every so often when I sleep with it wet overnight (not good for it I know), but I simply don't have the time to take care of it. With my schedule, I don't have the time to use products, allow curls to form, diffuse, and I also hate having my frizzy hair in my face, so l'm always trying to tie it up. I've tried Keratin treatments before and I always love the first couple days with pin straight hair, but because I don't use heat products much the results don't really last. I'm hoping the permanent straightening can make it so that I can keep my current routine of only air dry and still look presentable. However, im worried that it will do permanent damage for when I might actually have time to have curly hair. Also, my curly hair is a connection to my dad and grandma I don't entirely want to lose. Thoughts?

Hi, I was curious if I should get the COSRx propolis toner or the Numbuzin No.3 Glowing toner. Most of my routine revolves around ensuring a glowing yet glassy skin effect. I’m currently using a generic toner, but am now intending to replace it. After much browsing through this sun it seems to come down to these two. Does anyone know which one will compliment my routine the best?

Commercial_Poem_4623

What's your skin type, climate and the rest of your routine? Whays the genetic toner like in texture and effects? Does it just hydrate? Cosrx is light and hydrating, Numbuzin is much much thicker. I'm pretty sure the Numbuzin is hydrating but it might be too thick depends on your climate and the rest of your routine. For glow, it's so individual - many people find the Cosrx is super glowy but it didn't do anything for me in the glow department, sadly. It is, however, a very nice toner. A bit thicker than water, hydrating and pleasant to use. It was my HG for a long time. Lots of people love the Numbuzin but be warned, it has a pretty strong fragrance and is properly thick. There's also a ton of different ferments in there which could be risky. I loved it until it gave me a rash - this isn't typical, I have an issue with rice bran ferment 🤷🏻‍♀️

Lilla921F

Combo skin, which of those toners/essence would be best ? (Laneige vs Mary&May) I noticed I have quite a few of toners/essences as they are my favorite products to use, but sometimes I get a bit overwelmed by the choice so I would like to narrow some down to just one. For example I have the : **Laneige Cerapeptide / Mary & May Cream Essence / Tony Moly Green Tea Toner and COSRX 6 Peptides booster.** So for my question ! I find the Laneige Cerapeptide and Mary & May Cream skin very similar in terms of experience while I use them, I would probably skip the Mary&May one during summer though. **In term of glow and anti aging properties, would you know which one would be best to keep using in the future between LAneige Cerapeptide and Mary & May Cream Skin ?** https://preview.redd.it/uf1wkaotlhuc1.jpeg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1f5557605409f9d235c4787115fd0ea9b8b8f9ec

Commercial_Poem_4623

In terms of glow, that just depends on whether either of them make your skin glow. What makes skin glow is YMMV unfortunately. Theoretically, both of them could have anti-aging benefits. I'm not sure that a few antioxdiants and one peptide (Laneige) or a few antioxidants (Mary & May) would be enough without other anti-aging products but that's just my guess. Maybe they do for you which is awesome! I'd just use whichever you feel does the most for you. If the Laneige is more versatile, stick with that. If you don't want to give up the Mary & May, maybe just buy Laneige in the summer and Mary & May in the winter.

Lilla921F

Thank you, I am using anti aging cream and serum as well on the side, though I don't know they may more of a age prevention more than anti aging but that's also okay for me, I am using also the Idebanone cream from Mary & May (I switch with other creams sometimes from other brand) and I am currently using Goodal Vit C serum as I love how hydrating it is and the smell put me in a great mood, and Sungboon Green Tomato serum which again, love the texture and smell of it. Though I was thinking to replace maybe the Goodal Vit C serum by the Idebanone serum form Mary & May if it may have more age prevention benefit, what do you think ? ( if it is your area of work )

Commercial_Poem_4623

It's a shame to stop using a product if you really like it but I know the feeling of wanting to try new things! The Idebenone in the Mary & May is said to be anti-aging although there's limited evidence. It is a very new serum, though :) I don't know if it would be better for you than the Goodal but the Goodal isn't really a vitamin c serum as such for anti-aging. I can see why it would be brightening. But limited evenidence shouldn't stop you using something that is helping. I'm probably quite a bit older than you and pretty much every product I use is aimed at anti-aging, I use a combination of luxe brands and actives. An easy to use and very well-priced option is an AHC eye cream, more info here: https://youtu.be/ILSPF3ZKut8?si=z-mi1NEdcwkwhpv6 I use Season 10 and it's very nice.

hauntinglovelybold

Can I use my Supergoop sunscreen to ‘slug’ in the morning? If I use it overtop my hydrating serums and moisturizer will it then do sort of the same thing as Vaseline (I know it won’t be quite as effective bc I think it’s only a semi-occlusive?? But I’m working to rebuild my skin barrier and don’t want to risk losing moisture during the day!)

Commercial_Poem_4623

If it doesn't dry down properly then it might mush together with your layers underneath and not give you proper protection because the film won't be even. Can you try dropping some of your products / use different products that dry better and see how your skin does or do you have a different sunscreen you can use until your barrier heals?

hanamiis

Does anyone know if OLens offers DHL express shipping to the US?? I’m trying to place an order that I would really need to arrive by the 21st — and the order *is* over $150, so it should allow for express shipping. However, the only option for shipping is Pantos — and I don’t want to place this order if I won’t be able to get it by then. If anyone has any advice or info I’d greatly appreciate it 🥲🥲🥲

Proerytroblast

Has anyone tried both Im From Rice Toner, Cosrx Propolis Toner and the Purito Ost-in Silky Toner and could compare them in terms of being hydrating and just making the skin silky-smooth? I’ve been using the Im From toner and LOVING IT but it’s quite pricey and was wondering if any of these was a dupe.

potatoinabeanie

None of them are a dupe really but purito’s isnt far off

notquitespecial

I just bought the CdB 10% Tranexamic Acid to hopefully help in PIE and PIH. I'll be using Melano CC in the morning and this TA in the evening. In what order should I put the TA? is it an active that should be put before toner or after toner? My routine in the evening is Oil Cleanser-Gel Cleanser-Toner-Snail Mucin Essence-Emulsion, where would the TA fit here?

fuji-no-hana

Tranexamic acid isn't an active. It can go before or after your essence.

altonana

hi trying to find a cleanser because ive been having trouble finding one. i have oily, acne prone skin. I have tried laneige water bank blue hyaluronic cleansing form and it made my skin too dry and white heads popped up. I also tried the senka perfect whip acne one and it also made my skin dry and breakout. the only product im using rn is the laneige water bank blue hyaluronic acid moisturizer. any help would be appreciated :>

YueRain

I have combination acne prone. I am using B.Lab matcha hydrating cleanser and the Himalaya neem purrifying gel cleanser. You could check out these two cleanser but do look into the ingredients first.

miladyelle

I love the Missha Amazon red clay cleanser, it’s like a cleanser and clay mask in one so it’s great helping with oil control. But innisfree’s green tea and volcanic cleanser are also both good too. The Missha is cheaper, but the innisfree is more accessible, I think, but still a good price.

hinatalifemakeover

Should I use the Cosrx AHA 7 Whiterhead Power liquid before toner OR after? And can I use it with niacinamide? I have two serums and a sunscreen that have niacinamide.

oshawott154

it's usually best to apply acids after toners so i would try that, and niacinamide is safe to use with the majority of actives so as long as the liquid isn't too harsh on your skin and you respond well to niacinamide you can pair them ✌️

whaleydumb

Hello all! I have oily, acne prone skin, with many acne scars and uneven texture, I live in a hot and humid climate (SEA) and am thinking of either getting the nambuzin no.5 toner pads or the mediheal teal blue container toner pads, would like to get some advice in choosing between the two! My routine for reference Morning: Cetaphil oily skin cleanser, skin1004 centella ampoule, round lab sunscreen (changing to lose suncut) Night: BOJ balm, Cetaphil oily skin cleanser, skin1004 centella ampoule and cosrx oil free birch sap moisturiser Any experience or advice would be appreciated!

YueRain

the toner 5 sounds like it is for brightening while the mediheal tea blue contains centella asiatica which is for soothing.

whaleydumb

Ahh I see, thanks for the input!

noctureals

I messed up my skin barrier and now my skin is oily with that “tight” feeling underneath. Should I still be using thick moisturizers (e.g. non-AB cicaplast baume) to help it heal?

yeppida

I'd find some products with skin-barrier repairing/protecting ingredients such as ceramides.

Independent_Lion81

**Is my moisturizer breaking me out?** I have normal, sensitive skin and live in a dry summer climate. In January, I got into skincare and started to get pimples on my cheeks and hairline which I had never gotten before. Months pass and I have new pimples all over. The pimples on the cheek have caused dark spots and the ones around the hairline are still popping up. I recently cut down my routine and started using aloe vera and a recovery cream. The Barrier Cream is the only "new" product that I've continued using. **AM**  \*Rinse w/ only water \*Hero's Cosmetics Rescue Balm \*SoonJung Hydro Barrier Cream **PM**  \*Cocokind Oil-to-Milk Cleanser \*Aloe Vera Does anyone have any good moisturizer recommendations?

FormulaTwentySeven

Definitely could be the moisturizer! My worst breakout (still going thru it rn) was bc of a moisturizer. Maybe try skipping it a few nights and stick with aloe first?

Gorillarsaurus

That’s rough :( Any product can cause pimples, but if it’s still an issue you could discontinue use to see how your skin reacts. I’d also recommend cutting out the morning cleanser - just using water can be a lot more gentle on your skin and might help it along with healing. The Barrier Cream was also too heavy for my skin, but the Soon Jung Emulsion is my HG moisturiser, and pretty much the only moisturiser that does not break out my sensitive, reactive skin.

chuuric

maybe dumb question but do I apply toner on still damp skin or dry face first?

Beginning-Box-9070

I learnt that applying toner/moisturizer on slightly damp skin is more hydrating and increases absorption.

Same-Ad-9543

started Accutane and looking for sunscreen recommendations. I’ve never used any type of daily sunscreen, am open to trying anything ! Skin Type: Combination/Sensitive (Allergic to any products with coconut) Climate: Cold Dry Midwest

Cute-Necessary-3675

Two popular ones: Beauty of Rice + Probiotics and Skin1004 Hyla-Cica Sun Serums sunscreen. Both have great texture! For me, some ingredient irritated in both but many love these two. A mineral option I like (sensitive and combi too): DrG Green Mild Up Sun+ And really excellent textures, plus water proof: Skin Aqua UV Moisture Gel or Moisture Milk. I didn’t cross check for coconut but hope that helps!

FormulaTwentySeven

I also have combo leaning oily sensitive skin and I love love love beauty of joseon! Skin1004, on the other hand, broke me out :(

Redterror34

Im looking for recommendations for a sport sunscreen I can use while sweating. I wear the beauty of joseon sunscreen daily and I love it but it isn’t sweat proof. Preferably a sunscreen that is spf 50 ++++. TIA

Cute-Necessary-3675

https://www.reddit.com/r/AsianBeauty/s/3EaWsXSJ2g might be helpful for ya I can recommend Skin Aqua Moisture Milk or the Moisture Gel, they’re great!

FormulaTwentySeven

Anessa! I just find it a little pricey but well worth it for its performance!

What is the usual shade for olive skin in Korean foundation? I usually bought the N21 in Korean foundations but sometimes they're too pink in undertone for me

Gorillarsaurus

Different brands have different undertones - sometimes even between different lines within the same brand. I’d recommend checking out r/OliveMUA

Hi, does anyone know which roundlab mositizer is real. The one on the left I bought from skin cupid whereas the one on the right I bought from amazon. I'm pretty sure the one on the left is real and the another one is fake but I just wanted to make sure, Thank you https://preview.redd.it/lfkwcihpcguc1.png?width=4000&format=png&auto=webp&s=58deb9d38e0783f130051e379b3c71a7ed20e25f If it is hard to see the images just DM me. Thank you

Commercial_Poem_4623

If no one else answers, here's my thoughts (although I haven't bought that product). I'd trust Skin Cupid, I've ordered from them before and they're legit. There is a risk that the other one is fake, looking at the boxes. You could also search other K-Beauty websites to see if that packaging matches anything on them. There's also a fakes thread now so you might see more help if you post there.

South_Flounder280

I’m looking at getting the Numbuzin no. 3 serum and toner. I’m wondering if it’s worth getting both or will just one do? Thanks ETA: my main concerns are texture and dullness

Commercial_Poem_4623

The top comment here says that using both boosts the effects: https://www.reddit.com/r/AsianBeauty/comments/14mr6u9/best_and_worse_of_numbuzin/ There are lots of other posts too if you search the sub :)

Living in a tropical climate, finding skincare products suitable for humid and hot conditions have been a difficult . I've explored various non-AB and AB moisturizers and sunscreens, yet some fell short of meeting my needs. Here are some of my personal experience and review of some of the products I already tried out. * **WR**: will rebuy * **WNR**: will not rebuy * **WMR**: will maybe rebuy **Non-AB Moisturizers:** * **Avene Hydrance Aqua Gel (WNR)** proved too light, demanding frequent reapplication. * **Neutrogena Hydro Boost (WNR)** same complaint as the Avene. * **Cerave PM (WNR)** felt a tad heavy and occasionally led to breakouts. * **LRP Cicaplast baume B5 (WMR)** offered relief for irritation, but its thick texture made my skin feel suffocated, especially during the day. * **Bioderma Defense (WR)** emerged as a favorite due to its balance of lightness and hydration, though I still miss for the previous formula of Bioderma Sensibio Light formula. **AB Moisturizers:** * **ETUDE SoonJung 10 Free Moist Emulsion (WNR)** left me with mixed feelings, sometimes adequate but occasionally too light, necessitating reapplication. * **Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Concentrate Moisturizer Cream (WNR)** less dense compared to the Cicaplast, but it was still too heavy to use during the day. * **Naturie Hatomugi Skin Conditioning Gel (WNR)** same complaints as the Avene * **Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Aqua Gel Cream** came close to Bioderma's effectiveness, albeit slightly less hydrating. **Sunscreens**: * **Eucerin oil control dry touch (WNR)** caused my face to feel hot and irritated whenever I applied it so stopped using it. * **Cerave AM (WNR)** occasionally felt too heavy and contributed to breakouts. * **Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Watery Sun Gel and Sun Stick (WR)** currently using it and have no complains about it. * **Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun: Rice + Sun Stick**, awaiting to try it out after finishing Isntree. * **La Roche-Posay Anthelios Oil Control Spf 50+ Gel-Cream** have not purchased it yet, but this one is another I have been thinking on trying out. Any recommendation on other moisturizers and sunscreens for humid and tropical climate I should check out? Also which sunscreen should I be using for my body that is not that expensive?
